Package according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the housing for holding the fastener (2) is formed by a groove (4) provided on the periphery of the ring and comprising two lips (4a, 4b) which partially close the said groove and between which the said fastener (2) is introduced.
  7. Package according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the housing for holding the fastener (2) is formed by a tongue (4') provided on the periphery of the ring, folded down over the said fastener (2), then sealed by means of its free end edge.
  8. Package according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the housing for holding the fastener (2) is formed by a closed space (4") provided on or in the periphery of the ring, into which the said fastener (2) is inserted.
  9. Package according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that at least the inner surface of the ring intended to come into contact with the object to be protected is provided with a non-slip coating.
  10. Package according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that at least the inner surface of the ring intended to come into contact with the object to be protected is provided with protuberances or projections (7).
  11. Package according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the material used for the ring is at least partially a non-slip material.
  12. Package according to one of claims 1 to 11 for protecting the end of a cylindrical object, characterised in that the ring is provided with a substantially right-angled section (5) intended to cover the end edge of the said object to be protected.
  13. Package according to claim 12, characterised in that the right-angled section (5) of the ring is cut in a regular manner so that it can be bent.
  14. Package according to claim 13, characterised in that the cutting of the right-angled section (5) forms a series of isosceles trapeziums.
  15. Package according to one of claims 12 to 14, characterised in that the edge forming the junction between the ring and its right-angled section (5) is reinforced by an external rib (6).
  16. Package according to one of claims 12 to 15, characterised in that the ring has a tapered edge on the side opposite its right-angled section (5).
