Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Kathodenblech 1a als Bestandteil einer Kathodenanordnung für ein Elektrolysebecken zur elektrolytischen Gewinnung von Reinmetallen, insbesondere Kupfer. Das Kathodenblech 1a ist an seinen mit dem Elektrolyten in Kontakt gelangenden, im Elektrolysebecken vertikal ausgerichteten Seitenrändern 2a mit einem Kantenschutz 3 versehen, der aus einem keramischen Werkstoff besteht. Der Kantenschutz 3 ist elektrisch isolierend, porendicht und elektrolytbeständig. Scharfkantige Durchbrüche 5 und die äußeren Kathodenschnittkanten 4 sind vollständig mit dem Kantenschutz 3 beschichtet. Auf diese Weise werden Feldlinienkonzentrationen an diesen Stellen unterbunden.
