    on the other hand, the width (L) of this base plate (5) increases quickly from its two ends (5A, 5B) so that the inner edge (8) of this base plate (5) is located at a predetermined distance (D) from the vertical plane (P) going through the outer flanks of the bogie wheels (8) in order to preserve the clearance just necessary for lateral movement of the wheels.
  2. Bogie according to Claim 1, characterised in that only the outer face (7A) of the web (7) of the longitudinal member has a gusset plate (10) which extends between the lower face of the upper base plate and the upper face of the lower base plate.
  3. Bogie according to Claim 1, characterised in that the upper face of the upper base plate of each longitudinal member carries a smoother (11), one end (11A) of which is fixed, for example, by four points to this upper base plate.
  4. Bogie according to Claim 1, characterised in that it comprises a tubular connecting rod (15) for the brake linkage which locally goes through the bearing cross member.
  5. Bogie according to Claim 1, characterised in that the length of the clearance movement of the suspension is increased by about 15% and in order to do this, the spring supporting table (16) is lowered by around fourteen millimetres.
  6. Wagon characterised in that it is provided with a bogie according to any one of the Claims 1 to 5.
