Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for rotating a Valve of an internal combustion engine during the Closing movement of the valve using a Basic body with a central conical bore and in it arranged valve cone pieces for power and positive connection with the valve stem and under Use of a valve spring cover with a Contact surface for the valve spring, being between the Valve spring cover and the main body elements for Transferring the relief movement to the Valve spring occurring spring rotation from Valve spring covers are arranged on the base body.
  • Valve rotation device is the rotation of a valve enforced.
  • Use the known valve rotators usually the axially acting rising Valve spring force when opening the valve to its Cause rotation. It is achieved that Valve rotates a few degrees during opening, however, none during the closing movement Rotational movement performs more to an unnecessary Avoid wear on the valve itself.
  • Valve turning devices have a high Operational reliability expected. With normal Operating conditions and appropriate maintenance with a service life of the turning devices in large engines of 10,000 hours and more. For engines that run briefly in the overload range and at one unsteady operation, the loads on the Rotating devices, however, quite considerably. sensitive Components are due to their small dimensions the tangential springs for moving the balls in the sloping pockets. They are mentioned on the basis of dynamic overload which then becomes uncontrolled moving balls easily damaged or even completely destroyed. A damaged tangential spring leads to a Impairment of the function of the rotating device and in most cases directs their complete failure on.
  • the known turning devices are based on the Principle, a rectilinear movement in a rotary movement convert. For all standard turning devices this conversion is achieved mechanically.
  • the Parts suffer because of the large forces that occur a high wear or an early Material fatigue, so that of the engine manufacturer desired downtimes are difficult to achieve.
  • the disadvantage that the known turning devices technically complex and expensive are in the making.
  • FR-A-2 075 752 has already proposed been that between the lid and the base Elements for transferring the relief movement the spring movement of the valve spring from the cover are arranged on the base body.
  • the invention is based on the object Introductory device for rotating a valve to create their elements a little wear subject to and an increase in the service life of Allow rotating device. It should be a simple one Construction simplify manufacturing and the whole Make the turning device cheaper.
  • the invention solves this problem for a device mentioned in the introduction in that the cover is provided with a toothed ring concentric with the valve axis and with one-sided locking toothing, into which the toothing of a ratchet ring engages, but which is positively connected to the base body so as to be movable in the longitudinal direction of the valve.
  • the base body can be supported on the cover via an axial bearing. It is also advantageous to arrange a needle bearing between the cover and the base body to absorb lateral forces.
  • it can engage in axially directed grooves of the base body with feather keys arranged around its circumference and thus remain axially movable.
  • compression springs can be inserted between the base body and the ratchet ring, so that a constant engagement between the locking teeth is achieved.
  • valve rotating device designed according to the invention does not use valve lift or valve spring forces, to create a rotation derived from it. Rather, it is used when tensioning or relaxing a coil spring - here valve spring - associated Rotational movement that only with suitable mechanical Elements from the cover over the base body and the Valve plug pieces are guided into the valve stem.
  • the valve spring forces are transferred from Valve spring cover on the base body by Axial bearing directed so that the locking teeth of Ratchet ring and cover not exposed to great forces are and the wear of these parts is kept very low can be. It is obvious that the ones used simple components making the whole Rotary device designed simply and inexpensively.
  • the rotating device with the solution features of Invention consists of a valve spring cover 1 with a Contact surface 2 for the valve spring 22.
  • the coaxial to Cover 1 arranged base body 3 is with a conical bore 4 for receiving the valve cone pieces 20 provided a force-transmitting connection with the To produce valve stem 21.
  • a roller bearing in the form of a Axial ball bearing 5 arranged. Through a needle bearing 6 the base body 3, based on the cover 1, performed so that the thrust bearing 5 is not by side forces is charged.
  • a ratchet ring 9 Arranged concentrically to the axial bearing 5, the top of the cover 1 facing away from the valve spring 22 carries a ring gear 7 with a locking toothing 8.
  • the toothing of a ratchet ring 9 engages in the locking toothing 8, which is axially movable, but is secured against rotation against the base body 3.
  • the securing takes over on the circumference of the ratchet ring 9 arranged parallel keys 10, which engage in corresponding grooves 11 of the base body 3.
  • compression springs 12 are arranged distributed on the end face.
  • the springs 12 have their abutments in bores 13 of the ratchet ring 9 and in sleeves 14 which rest with their outer closed surfaces on the underside of a flange 15 of the base body 3.
  • the compression spring 12 constantly ensures a slight engagement of the teeth of the locking teeth of the ratchet ring 9 and valve spring cover 1 by a slight pretension.
  • the entire device is covered by an oil protection cover 16 and secured by a conventional snap ring 17.
  • a ring 18 on the underside of the cover 1 ensures a captive connection of the preassembled unit.
  • a rocker arm presses with its pressure finger on the end of the valve stem end.
  • the pressure force is communicated to the base body via the valve cone pieces 20.
  • the axial forces introduced are denoted by F. They are transmitted via the axial bearing 5 into the valve spring cover 1 and from there onto the valve spring 22.
  • the valve spring 22 performs a helical movement in its axial compression movement, which rotates with the cover 1 because of the large-area contact.
  • the ratchet teeth arranged on the top of the cover 1 slide relative to the ratchet ring 9, which is not rotated because it can perform an axially upward evasive movement through the toothed slopes.
  • valve itself does not turn either because the pressure finger on the rocker arm causes sufficient braking torque due to friction.
  • the valve spring 22 is relaxed. You can turn back to its starting position and turn the valve cover 1 back into its starting position due to the positive connection.
  • the rotation of the valve cover 1 leads to the ratchet ring 9 being carried along, since the teeth which are in engagement with one another are directed on one side and have the effect of stops during the return movement.
  • the rotary movement of the ratchet ring 9 is transmitted via its feather keys to the base body 3 and through the force-transmitting connection to the valve thereon.
  • the torque generated by the valve spring 22 is considerably greater than the braking torque exerted by the rocker arm finger on the end face of the valve stem.
