Fig. 1 zeigt eine Darstellung des Grundgedankens der Erfindung anhand einer Reihe von Werten, wobei die x- Achse die Höhe der Werte zeigt und die einzelnen Werte in ihrer zeitlichen Abfolge entlang der Zeitachse t aufgereiht sind. Dabei ist 3 der Sollwert, 4 der obere und 4' der untere Grenzwert.1 ist der Wert des letzten Bogens, 1' der des vorletzten usw.. In der Regel verändern sich die erfassten Werte 1, 1', 1", 1''', ... mit einem bestimmten Entwicklungstrend 12. Ein solcher Entwicklungstrend 12 kann sich beispielsweise in einem Prognosezeitpunkt 11 in Richtung des Grenzwertes 4 bewegen. Dabei wird für die Einleitung von Gegenmaßnahmen eine Prognose erstellt, bei der eine gewisse Anzahl von Werten herangezogen wird und die Entwicklung im Laufe der nächsten Bogen zu prognostizieren. Beispielsweise können die letzten vier Werte herangezogen werden, um eine Entwicklung für die kommenden drei Werte zu prognostizieren. Diese sind mit dem Bezugszeichen 12 bezeichnet. Befindet sich bei den für die Prognose herangezogenen Werten ein ausscherender Einzelwert 8, so wird dieser für die Prognose nicht herangezogen, da er sie verfälschen würde. Für den Prognosezeitpunkt 11 ergibt sich, wie dies sichtbar ist, kein Überschreiten des Grenzwertes 4 und daher wird keine Gegenmaßnahme eingeleitet. Anders verhält sich dies im Prognosezeitpunkt 11', für den sich ergibt, dass nach drei weiteren Bogen mit einer Überschreitung des Grenzwertes 4 gerechnet werden muss. Diese visuell vorzunehmende Prognose kann dadurch erleichtert werden, dass eine Signaleinrichtung 15 vorgesehen ist, die ein optisches oder akustisches Signal abgibt, wenn in einem Prognosezeitpunkt, wie beispielsweise 11', mit einer Überschreitung des Grenzwertes 4 bei den nächsten Bogen zu rechnen ist. In einem solchen Fall kann auf dem weiteren Display 7 eine lesbare Gegenmaßnahme 14 angezeigt werden, als Beispiel wird hier die Bedienperson aufgefordert, den Luftdruck des Saugbandes zu überprüfen.
