Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for printing, in particular a Franking and / or addressing machine, with a print head that can be moved is held on a printhead holder.
- This is to be achieved the relative movement between the print head and the printable Medium when printing along a first direction with respect to a Base element between a first longitudinal position and a second Longitudinal position designed to be movable.
- Another is printing Enabling print images offset to one another transversely to the first direction first displacement device provided for moving the Printhead relative to the printhead holder from a first transverse position in at least one of the first transverse position transverse to the first Direction spaced second transverse position is formed.
- To the Printhead in the first or second transverse position during printing to hold are holding means for holding the print head in the respective Position provided.
- the term “print head” denotes all types of printing devices that have a printed image on a medium can generate. In other words, the term closes on the one hand Printing facilities of any printing techniques. He shouldn't either be limited to the component that directly generates the printed image, but can also include other components that are used to generate printed images are needed. Ink reservoirs, for example etc.
- a generic device is for example from the EP 0 933 210 A2 is known.
- the print head slidably in a guided by a guide rod Bracket arranged.
- the holder For printing, the holder and so that the print head along a first direction, namely parallel to Move the guide rod.
- the print head becomes perpendicular to offset in the first direction relative to the bracket in a further Step a second print image using the opposite method of Generate printhead along the first direction.
- the offset of the second printed image to the first printed image is so large that the two printed images overlap at most in the marginal area, in which they border on across the first direction. This is it possible to generate an overall print image with a print head, the Dimension transverse to the first direction, d. H. across the printing direction, corresponds approximately to twice the print width of the print head.
- the displacement device is in the known device on the bracket arranged and designed as a linear drive on the printhead acts.
- the linear drive obviously also takes care of that Function of the holding means.
- this design has the disadvantage that using the linear actuator to hold the printhead in the each transverse position a relatively complex control of the drive is necessary, possibly even a position control to a ensure accurate positioning of the printhead.
- the drive has a certain holding torque in both directions of movement deliver to ensure accurate positioning during printing.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object to provide generic device, which with low Effort an accurate and reliable positioning of the Ensures printhead during printing.
- This task is based on a device according to the Preamble of claim 1 by the in the characterizing part of Features specified claim 1 solved.
- the invention is based on the technical teaching that one is special simple device with one of the accuracy requirements good corresponding transverse positioning of the printhead if the holding means for holding the print head in the respective transverse position at least a first holding device and a second holding device have, each having at least a first stop Limit printhead movement across the first direction.
- the contact between the stop areas located on the printhead and the stops can be punctiform or linear, however, it is preferably flat from the point of view of wear, in order to obtain low local surface pressures on contact.
- the stops can be stationary on the device, for example be arranged on the base element.
- a stop surface of the first stop at least the first holding device arranged on the printhead holder is.
- a spring device for achieving the first contact force by means of Spring action provided.
- This spring device can directly act on the printhead and this against the first stop preload.
- the preload and thus the contact force are chosen so that the relevant stop area of the print head constantly against the corresponding one during the printing process first stop is pressed.
- a magnetic device can be used to achieve the first contact force can be provided by means of magnetic action.
- a magnet can be provided on the printhead which is connected to a preferably arranged in the area of the first stop Magnets or an element made of magnetic material, for example Iron or the like, cooperates to generate the contact force.
- a corresponding element made of magnetic Material can be provided on the printhead, which then with one preferably arranged in the area of the first stop Magnets interact to generate the contact force.
- the first holding device for holding the printhead in the associated transverse position by means of a positive locking formed first locking element. Preload the printhead against the attack in question is then not necessary if the locking element is transverse to the first in both directions Direction acts positively, provided the form-fitting connection has sufficiently little play.
- the locking element only in one Can have a positive direction, d. H. the first stop or the stop area interacting with the first stop on the printhead. Then there is still to position the printhead a corresponding contact force at the stop in the manner described to establish.
- the first holding device is preferably for automatic locking of the first locking element when the associated one is reached Transverse position trained.
- the actuation is also preferably carried out of the locking element by the movement of the Print head holder and thus the print head along the first Direction.
- the locking element can be used, for example, as suitably shaped spring-loaded lever be the one in the process of moving the print head holder by accretion appropriate controls, such as simple ones Ramps or the like, to lock or to release the lock is operated.
- the second holding device can be analogous to the type of the first Holding device be formed.
- the variants mentioned can however, they can also be combined with one another in any way.
- the second holding device a first longitudinal guide device and a with cooperating second longitudinal guide means.
- the the second longitudinal guide device interacts with the first longitudinal guide device together so that the print head essentially is parallel to the first direction.
- longitudinal guide device in the sense of the present invention includes any facilities that interact with a counterpart the direction of the relative movement between the Affect the longitudinal guide device and the counterpart.
- the first longitudinal guide device has at least one to the first Direction essentially parallel first longitudinal guide surface.
