  19. Mixing device according to Claim 18, characterised in that the angle of taper of the tapering base section (16) lies in the range from about 60° to 120°.
  20. Mixing device according to Claim 18 or 19, characterised in that the ratio of the height of the tapering base section (16) to that of the cylindrical section (14) lies in the range from about 1:1 to about 2:1.
  21. Mixing device according to one of Claims 18 to 20, characterised in that the blades (26) are fitted mainly in the tapering base section (16) of the mixing tank (12).
