Definitions
- the present invention relates to an automatic fixation of snowboarding provided to maintain a shoe by sides, including a base plate minus one jaw swiveling around a horizontal axis and secured to a training arm intended to be driven by the shoe when introducing the shoe in the binding and a retainer opposite to the jaw, fixation in which the jaw has a cooperating cam-shaped portion with a movable locking element in a guide and biased by an elastic means in the direction of blocking, the locking element and its guiding being such that a blockage of the jaw is ensured for different jaw positions corresponding to different levels of the shoe relative to the base plate.
- This fixation allows a good restraint of the shoe in the presence of snow or ice on the baseplate and when that snow or ice melts and the shoe tends to go down, the difference of height of the shoe is automatically overtaken by fixing.
- the blocking element ensures a firm fixation, without elastic play without for this the jaw must be solicited by a powerful spring. Maintaining the jaw position of support on the shoe is indeed assured by the blocking element, this blocking being provided by adequate forms, without being necessary to have a powerful spring acting on the blocking element.
- the automatic fixing according to the invention is defined by the features of claim 1.
- the jaw and the locking element comprise cooperating means between them to hold the blocking element apart from its blocking position when the jaw is raised and as long as the jaw has not reached at least approximately a position likely to be a retaining position of the shoe.
- the locking element is in the form of a stud and the guiding of this pad is oriented at least approximately vertically.
- the stud is rotatable and provided with at least one radial arm secured to the stud in rotation, supported by its end on a stop in the raised position of the jaw, the jaw being secured to an auxiliary cam retaining the radial arm in this position in support, the shape of the part in cam shape being such that it releases the radial arm when lowering the jaw, allowing the moving the blocking stud to the blocking position.
- the jaw is preferably mounted in a frame substantially vertical guidance for a crew mobile carrying said stud and it comprises a means of voluntary lifting of this mobile equipment, the actuation authorizes the raising of the jaw and the return of the radial arm of the stud in the support position on the frame.
- the attachment is preferably equipped with two jaws opposites connected together kinematically so to ensure a simultaneous lowering of both jaws, so that a jaw can not close without the other jaw closing as well.
- a game mechanically is advantageously provided in the connection kinematics between the jaws so as to hold account of a slightly oblique position of the shoe due to presence of snow or ice under the shoe.
- the part in the form of cam of the jaw has a side wall forming stop for the locking element, so as to keep away from its blocking position, and a cutting forming circumferential stop and the element of blocking consists of a moving finger at least approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of jaw and wedge-shaped coming to lean against the circumferential stop during its penetration into said cutting after a certain rotation of the jaw.
- the element of opposite restraint is advantageously constituted of a second jaw identical to the first and both locking fingers are kinematically connected between them. In this case too, it is advantageously mechanical play in this kinematic connection.
- FIG. basic 1 intended to be fixed on the surfboard, two opposite jaws 2 and 3 mounted on the plate of base 1 and covered by a cover 4, respectively 5.
- the attachment further comprises a heaving lever 6 whose actuation releases the jaws that then return to their open position as shown in Figure 1.
- the jaws being identical, it will be enough to describe the jaw 2 with reference to Figures 2 and 3.
- the jaw 2 is in the form of a piece planar plane, mounted in a frame 7 consisting of a metal part stamped and folded so as to form a tubular piece provided with two legs 7a and 7b by which the frame is fixed on the base plate 1.
- the jaw 2 is rotatably mounted in the frame 1 to means of a horizontal axis 8 and it is provided with a return spring 58 tending to bring the jaw into his open position.
- Jaw 2 has an arm of training or pedal 9.
- a cam 10 On one side of the jaw 2 is fixed a cam 10 presenting itself approximately in the form of a circle sector eccentric extending over 90 °. This cam can heard to have come from a room with jaw 2.
- the frame 7 furthermore constitutes a guide for a mobile unit 11 carrying in its upper part a stud 12 of axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the jaw and constituting the blocking element of the jaw.
- This stud 12 is itself engaged, by its ends, in two grooves or opposite lights 13 and 14 formed in two opposite walls of the frame 7.
- the 12 is provided with a radial arm 15 integral with rotation of the stud 12.
- the actuating arm 9 is circumferentially extends by a portion 9a in cam shape intended to cooperate with the stud 12 for secure the jaw lock, as will be described later.
- the arm 15 In the open position of jaws as shown in Figures 2 and 3, the arm 15 is supported, by its end, on a bearing 16 and is kept in that position by the cam 10.
- the mobile assembly 11 presents, in its lower part, a curved part 17 around the heaving lever 6 and thus ensures a connection between the mobile assembly 11 and the lever 6.
- lever 6 is oblique in the rest position, but through part 17 of the mobile equipment by a short horizontal section as can be seen in the Figure 5. Beyond Part 17, lever 6 is extended by a transverse part 18 extending under the base plate 1 to go up on the other side of the opposite jaw 3 where its end is engaged horizontally in part 17 'of the moving equipment 11 'of the opposite jaw. Both mobile crews are thus mechanically and kinematically connected between them. Locking is therefore done simultaneously by the two jaws by the simultaneous descent of blocking studs 12 and 12 '.
- the connection between the party 17 of the mobile equipment and the lever 6 presents however a game 19, also present in the game 17 'corresponding to the other jaw. This game allows, in the locked position, to take account of a slightly oblique position of the sole of the shoe relative to the base plate, position due to the presence of snow or ice on one side or unevenly on both sides.
- Figures 5 to 7 show the jaws still in open position, ie the same position as the one shown in Figures 2 and 3. We can see particular in Figure 7 that the arm 15 'of the jaw 3 abuts against its abutment 16 'so that the studs 12 and 12 'are retained at the end superior of their guidance.
- the shoe 20 provided laterally with two housings 21, 22 comes to rest on the actuating arms 9 and 9 '. It can be seen ( Figure 7) that in this position the 12 and 12 'are still maintained in their high position, their arm 15 to 15 'being in support against stops 16 and 16 '.
- the shape of the cams 9a, 9a 'and the form guide lights of the studs 12 and 12 ' is as the studs continue their descent to come again get stuck between the cams and the guiding lights.
- the body of the jaw 31 is in the form a cylinder 35 provided with a hub 36 for the passage of the pivot axis of the jaw.
- the cylinder 35 has a cam-shaped portion consisting of a radial wall 37 protruding radially on the circumference of the cylinder 35.
- This wall 37 presents a cutout 38 whose lower side 39 extends practically radially relatively to the axis of the body 35 and thus forms a circumferential stop.
- Around of the hub 36 is mounted a return spring 59, one of which end is hooked to the hub 36 in a known manner.
- the spring 59 tends to hold the jaw in its open position shown in Figures 14 and 15.
- the upper end 53, respectively 53 ', of the radial wall 37, 37 ' constitutes a drive arm for the jaw.
- the locking element of the jaw consists of a finger 40 in the form of a plate cut-out arranged parallel to the base plate 30 and provided with a posterior end in the form of hook 41 by which the finger 40 is secured to a bar 42. More specifically, the bar 42 leans on one side against hook 41 and on the other side against an arm 43 of the finger 40.
- the finger 40 ' is provided with a second cooperating arm 60 with the upward angled portion of the bar 42, as will be described later.
- the bar 42 has two angled ends at an angle engaged respectively in a drum 44, 44 '. These drums are rotated by springs (not shown) which tend to push the bar 42 towards the jaws, that is to say in direction of the arrow, figure 15.
- the end of the fingers 40, 40 'in support against the wall 37, 37 ' is chamfered.
- the fingers of blocking 40 and 40 ' are kinematically linked by the bar 42 to synchronize the locking of the two jaws. but in this case one of the links, in the occurrence that of the finger 40 'is made with a game 51, the arm 43 'being shorter than the arm 43. This game 51 is occupied by a spring 57 ( Figure 18) now the bar 42 against the hook 41 '.
- the attachment is further equipped with a lever of heaving 52 to drive in rotation the drum 44 'and with him the bar 42.
- the chamfered ends of the fingers 40 and 40 ' avoid a sharp advance of the fingers and, thus, a sudden closure of the jaws.
- the fingers 40, 40 ' follow the rotation of the cams 37, 37 'rather than participate in the training of these cams.
- the rectilinear part 47 is longer than part 47 ' corresponding because the movement of the finger 40 is linked at the displacement of the bar 42, while the finger 40 ' is pushed by the spring 57 as soon as he left the face side of the cam 37 '.
- the jaws can continue their rotation in the direction of the closing.
- the fingers 40 and 40 ' can then continue their advance, the ramps 46, 46 'of these fingers sliding against stops 39, 39 'and follow so the position of these stops, now the jaws blocked.
- the lowest position is represented in FIGS. 20 and 21, the stops 39, 39 ' having reached the top of the ramps 46, 46 '.
- the heaving is done by operating the lever of heaving 52, which has the effect of removing fingers 40, 40 'back and therefore release jaws that get up under the effect of their return springs 59, 59 '.
- a simplified variant of the first mode execution is shown schematically in the figures 22 to 24.
- the jaws are identical and we will limit our to describe one of the jaws.
- the jaw 61 in the general shape of a circle sector, is articulated about an axis 62 in a stirrup 63.
- the axis 62 passes through the center of the circle corresponding to the circle area.
- the jaw 61 is solicited elastically in the direction of its opening by a spring surrounding the axis 62.
- the jaw 61 is provided an actuating pedal 64.
- the jaw On the opposite side to the pedal 64, the jaw has a domed portion cam shape 65.
- the jaw has a shoulder 66 slightly oblique in raised position of the jaw.
- the element of blocking is here constituted by the horizontal arm cylindrical 67 of a crank-shaped piece 68 ( Figure 23).
- the blocking element 67 passes through apart the stirrup 63 through two lights 69 similar to lights 13 and 14 of the first mode execution.
- the locking element 67 is retained by the shoulder 66 of the jaw at the end top of the lights 69.
- the piece shaped crank 68 and the corresponding piece 68 'of the other jaw are connected to the parallel arms of a piece rigid U 70, constituting the kinematic connection between the blocking elements 67 and 67 ', by one piece link 71 authorizing exclusively the rotation of cranks 68, 68 'respectively.
- the connecting piece is articulated in two opposite points 72 and 73 close of the transverse part, so that the piece in U 70 with cranks 68 and 68 'tends to tilt about an axis 74 in a corresponding direction at the descent of the locking elements 67 and 67 '.
- the shoe 20 drives the jaw 61 by its 64 pedal as shown in Figure 24. During this descent, the blocking element 67 leaves the shoulder 66 and goes down, guided by the lights 69, until he meet the cam 65 and block the jaw.
- the coupling 71 allows the blocking member 67 to follow the shape of the lights 69.
- the lights 69 could be rectilinear and vertical instead to be curved.
