Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an infrared headphone according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • an infrared headphone which consists of two playback transducers connected to one another via a chin guard, an electrical circuit that receives infrared signals and converts them into audio signals, and two microphones with downstream microphone amplifiers.
  • the circuit of this infrared headphone is such that the playback transducers can be supplied with the signals derived from the infrared circuit or the microphone amplifiers either individually or in combination.
  • the microphones are arranged at a distance from one another on the chin guard in such a way that they are symmetrical with respect to the media plane of the head of a user, the signals derived from the microphones being supplied in phase opposition to the other microphone amplifier in the same ratio.
  • infrared headphones are usually in operative connection with a transmitter that converts the emitted sound signals, for example from a television or a hi-fi system, into invisible infrared rays, and emits them into the room where they are received by the infrared headphones which can provide wireless infrared sound transmission. It makes sense to have such a transmitter at the same time as a charging station for the infrared receiver and for at least one battery insert, which is used in the charged state to operate the infrared headphones.
  • the publication WO 95/35011 A discloses an infrared headphone as a chin guard receiver educated.
  • These infrared headphones essentially consist of a basic housing made of two temple ends, each with one end arranged Small speaker. The two temple ends are stored in the basic housing, whereby those each in connection with a spring element acting in the area of the bearing are spreadable, making a pleasant ear attachment via these spring elements the small speaker can be accomplished.
  • the commissioning and decommissioning is with this headphone by means of a manually operated switch performed.
  • GB 2 304 488 A and FR 2 280 283 A also disclose cable-free Headphones with which the expandable headband is also a pleasant one Enable ear attachment and in which an on / off switch is integrated whose on / off actuation is dependent on the bow spread, which makes manual There is no need to operate the switch.
  • the invention as characterized in the claims, is the object based on the ease of use of an infrared headphone of the type mentioned at the beginning, the acceptance and availability of such a device to increase.
  • an infrared headset which is also called chin strap receiver, receives this over the invisible infrared beam the sound signals, which in the chin guard receiver via small loudspeakers attached to the two ends of brackets amplified and passed on to the ears.
  • the temple ends connected to the basic housing each of which is equipped with a small loudspeaker at the end, and together form a chin guard receiver, be designed to be resiliently spreadable in at least one level by a mounted guide.
  • a pleasant ear-side attachment of the small loudspeakers is achieved, on the other hand, this controlled spreading leads to an automatic activation of the chin guard receiver by the spreading being in operative connection with a switch which is preferably placed in the basic housing.
  • this arrangement according to the invention makes wearing the chin strap receiver in active connection with the The arrangement of the small speakers is pleasantly designed, because unpleasant pressure points on the ears cannot arise. If the chin guard receiver is put down, it switches off automatically.
  • the user determines that the chin guard receiver has switched on automatically. This on / off philosophy also protects the battery charge and the previously set volume is retained when you put it back on.
  • the recipient is informed by the user a combined on / off switch and volume control.
  • the volume control is always turned to zero.
  • the volume control is always turned to zero.
  • the Reuse is then determined that the battery energy or The battery is empty and the device is no longer immediately operational the user must switch to the appropriate volume after each switch-on adjust again.
  • Another circuit according to the invention in the chin guard receiver ensures that that an automatic switch-off of the receiver intervenes when the reception quality falls below a certain quality tolerance limit. This means, that the wearer will instinctively always take the receiving position which the transmission allows on the basis of the specified quality control. Therefore, the chin guard receiver is outside the transmission range or will If the infrared beam is disturbed, the chin guard receiver switches off the disturbed sound transmission off, but switches on again immediately as soon as the reception by turning the wearer towards the transmitter again stands perfectly so the wearer is no longer annoying and uncomfortable Disadvantages sound disturbances, sound disturbances these which basically can massively reduce the acceptance of a chin guard receiver.
  • the infrared transmission beams are only switched on as long as a television program or music is received. If the sound emitting device is switched off, switch off the infrared transmission beams after a few minutes.
  • Fig. 1 the chin guard receiver is shown in use on users the basic housing 20a-c of the chin guard receiver is shown here as well as the placed small speaker 21 outlined.
  • Fig. 2 the front 20a of the chin guard receiver is shown again.
  • the chin guard receiver is worn in such a way that this front side 20a must always be directed towards the transmitter.
  • This front side 20a is usually provided with a clearly visible inscription, which offers the wearer reliable help in correctly fitting the chin guard receiver.
  • the basic housing On the underside, the basic housing has an opening 28 into which an operational battery insert E is inserted.
  • the geometrical design of the battery insert E is such that there is only one way to insert the battery insert E correctly and completely into the chin guard receiver.
  • the rear of the chin strap receiver is shown with item 20b. Sound transmission settings 25 and 26 are integrated therein.
  • Item 20c represents the top of the chin guard receiver.
  • a volume control 23 which is provided with an adjustable volume gradation identified by numbers, a marking 24 indicating the gradation set. This means that the user can always selectively control his or her pleasant volume.
  • This volume adjustment on the top of the chin guard receiver is very easy to use.
  • the volume control 23 is located on the right-hand side when viewed from the wearer.
  • Item 27 identifies the two bracket ends, which are mounted in the basic housing 20a-c in a resiliently expandable manner and are in operative connection with a switch shown in more detail in FIG. 3.
  • This switch responds to the spread position of the temple ends 27 by activating the receiver circuit. This remains on reception as long as the chin guard receiver is worn. When the same is put down, the bow ends 27 spring into a rest position in which the switch goes to "off".
  • the temple ends 27 each carry a small loudspeaker 21 via skin-friendly padding 22, which are placed at the ear canal inputs and ensure perfect reception. The padding also serves to keep the small speaker 21 and its opening clean.
  • a circuit in the chin guard receiver ensures that the reception is automatically switched off whenever the reception quality falls below a certain quality tolerance limit. This means that the wearer instinctively turns to the receiving position that allows the transmission based on the specified quality control. Accordingly, if the chin guard receiver is outside the transmission range or if the infrared beam is deflected, partially absorbed or disturbed, the chin guard receiver immediately switches off the disturbed sound transmission, but then immediately switches it on again as soon as the quality of the sound management built into the chin guard receiver is switched on again is allowed. Thus, the wearer is no longer confronted by annoying and unpleasant sound disturbances when wearing the chin strap receiver.
  • FIG. 3 shows the switching on / off of the reception of the chin guard receiver, which has already been briefly explained above, as a function of the position of the bow ends 27. whose positioning is made possible by an appropriately attached spring 9.
  • This spring 9 is held between a stop plate 8 and the side plane of the electronic circuit board 14, this stop plate 8 being part of the shift lever 6.
  • a further stop plate 8a which lies in the same plane with the stop surface of the stop plate 8 already mentioned on the shift lever 6, and this with the lateral border 13 of the basic housing serves as a limit for the sprung rotary movement 12, i.e. the spread position, in the plane of the bracket ends 27 is fixed.
  • the shift lever 6 is equipped with a corresponding lever action at the upper end of the basic housing so that it can rotate 10.
  • the bracket ends 27 When the bracket ends 27 are at rest, the two stop plates 8, 8a are pressed against one another by the spring 9. Due to the spreading position 12, the temple ends 27 assume a new position 27a, which forms the carrying position of the chin guard receiver.
  • the spring 9 is slightly compressed in such a way that the lower end of the switching lever 6 makes contact with the switch 5.
  • the electronic circuit board 14 which is in operative connection with the switch 5 switches on immediately upon receipt as soon as the switch 5 is activated by the resilient rotary movement 12 of the bracket ends 27. In the rest position of the temple ends 27, reception is switched off.
  • the bracket ends 27 each have a spring 9 and corresponding stop plates, so that an advantageous symmetrical suspension can be achieved.
  • the headphones described here are in operation for obvious reasons been focused with infrared signals. This is not meant to exclude in any way remain that these headphones are of course also for reception and Implementation of other wireless signals, for example radio signals, for Use can come. Only the specific electronic components vary then from case to case: on the basic structure of the described according to the invention Headphones, however, do not change these signal-related adjustments.
