Abstract

The lock for a building window or door has a housing (2) with a handle (3) for moving a locking linkage into locked or released positions. The housing has fixings for a cover (11) with complementary fixings (12). The cover has a rectangular opening (24) for a locking lug (25). The cover has a U-shaped structure with an extension (23) having an opening (24) for the lug and having fixings (12A) co-operating with those of an extension (26) of the housing.

Description

The invention relates to a cremone bolt for door-type joinery or window comprising a casing provided capable of taking position in a carpentry rebate groove and accommodating a control mechanism for bringing at least one operating rod extending above and / or below said case in a locked or unlocked position, said housing comprising, in its front part, means for attachment for receiving a cover element provided additional fixing means, this element forming cover further comprising, in its front face, an opening oblong for the passage of a locking member, such as a roller or roller subjected to the action of an operating rod.

The present invention relates to the field of hardware building and relates, more particularly, to bolts lacking continuous headrests likely to house their operating rod.

In the field of wooden carpentry, it is quite common to to find in rebate, in particular of the opening of a door or window, a recess groove welcoming the different elements of a cremone bolt or even a bolt lock. In all the cases, if it is a bolt or bolt-lock, we has a box containing a control mechanism, in particular capable of acting on one or more operating rods extending above and / or below this housing. Very often they are sheltered by a headrest which closes the recess groove at the joinery.

As for the case, it, too, is attached to the back of said headrest, often using riveting means which appear, obviously unaesthetically, on the side external of this headrest. Furthermore, this case is usually defined by two dissociated side walls which are comes to join, again by riveting or similar means, after having arranged the parts of the ordered.

In the case of aluminum or PVC joinery, the profiles constituents define, very frequently in rebate, a “U” or “T” shaped groove capable of accommodating different elements of a locking fitting of the type cremone bolt or bolt lock. About the latter a range very specific products have been developed using such a groove to overcome the use of a headrest shuttering to house the strands of operating rods extending above and / or below the housing of the ordered.

However, to prevent access to the different rooms which make up the latter in the absence of such a headrest it took find a solution to close said case in its part before. So, very often, this box is defined in the form of two half-shells able to accommodate said mechanism control and which, when assembled, define a wall front at the back of which come to engage the operating rods extending above and / or below it housing.

Under these conditions, not only the two half-shells of the housing can only be assembled once all of the parts of the control mechanism suitably positioned in at least one of them, but also still necessary, at beforehand, bring the operating rod (s) in cooperation with this control mechanism.

Ultimately, the absence of a headrest weakens the rod during handling and packaging that is also involved adapt.

Note, however, that to avoid the assembly of this case in the presence of the operating rods, a solution is known consisting in acting, through the control mechanism, not directly on this or these operating rods, but on easels which extend these inside the housing. In sum after assembly of the latter, said operating rods can be connected to the ends of these easels made accessible externally to the housing.

It goes without saying that this poses the problem of this connection between easel and rod which, moreover, must be returned inaccessible and therefore invisible in joinery rebate.

In this regard, if we refer to document EP-A.0589.170 we notes that there is described a cremone bolt for carpentry of the type door or window, comprising a monobloc box on which is snapped, in the front part, a cover in the form of a headrest. Furthermore, in the upper part of the housing this cover extends and has an opening for passage a roller ordered under the impulse of a rod or a easel actuated by the control mechanism of said espagnolette. In fact, it will be noted that here this housing forming a headrest has, at each of its ends, flaps intended to ensure the junction with headrest extensions and which are fixed through fixing screws coming to cooperate with the carpentry. If, in this case, these extensions are perfectly maintained at the cost of additional fasteners requiring, in particular, a machining operation at the level carpentry, as well as a screwing operation. Obviously, such a binding solution meets the conditions of good locking roller operation. This one comes in effect, pass through an oblong opening at said level extension of the housing cover to cooperate with the operating rod moving at the rear.

In the end, we will observe that the flaps and, therefore, the screws fixing through them have the function, initially, of contribute to the connection: headrest extension boxes and of rods.

In fact, as already mentioned above, the present invention takes place in a somewhat special context since it is a lever capable of taking position in a "U" or "T" carpentry groove, in particular aluminum or PVC, this in the absence of headrests coming usually cover the strands with rods extending above and / or below the housing of the ordered.

Under these conditions the housing cover must be perfectly maintained, especially in terms of its ends when this cover is extended and has a opening for the passage of a pebble, extension which, if is not properly maintained, may interfere with displacement of this roller. He can still present himself in a way slightly detached from the plane of the rabbet of the carpentry which is not only unsightly but also in addition, a user can hang onto it in the process.

Also, the invention solves the problem through a cremone bolt for door or window type carpentry including a box provided able to take position in a recessed groove in joinery rebate and accommodating a control mechanism for bringing at least one operating rod extending above and / or below said housing in a position of locking or unlocking, said housing comprising, in its front part, fixing means for reception a cover member provided with fixing means complementary, this cover forming element comprising, again, in its front wall, an oblong opening for the passage of a locking member, such as a roller or roller subjected to the action of an operating rod.

According to the invention said cover element borrows a "U" shaped structure and has at least one of its ends, in particular on the side of said locking member, a substantially planar extension provided with an opening for the passage of the latter and comprising fixing means complementary, in particular at its free end, provided capable of cooperate with fastening means associated with an extension complementary to said housing.

Ultimately, if in the state of the art the housing was usually dimensioned so as not to contain that the cremone bolt control mechanism, we have imagined, unlike a usual approach of reducing the size of the pieces, to extend this case so that it can extend under the plan extension of the cover at through which comes to project the roller or roller usually found above and / or below a such a case. This advantageously ensures the maintenance, in particular at its free end, of this extension of the cover with respect to said housing, without it no need to use fasteners screw type or others. It should be noted, moreover, that the commitment of such a fixing screw requires the fitting of a oblong light in the rod at the right of its passage. To that are added the constraints and the risks of an assembly incorrect likely to cause discomfort in movement of the operating rod through which this screw passes.

As more particularly visible in the drawing figures attached, the present invention relates to the field of cremone bolts for door or window type carpentry.

Such a cremone bolt 1 comprises a casing 2 provided capable of taking position in a rebate groove of carpentry which for convenience and understanding of the invention, was not shown on the FIGS.

Anyway this case 2 hosts a mechanism control 3 to bring an operating rod 4, 5, extending above and / or below the housing 2 in a position of locking or unlocking. In fact the case 2 is monobloc shape and defined by two side walls 6, 7 substantially parallel to each other and integral with a bottom 8 of so that this case 2 is open in the front part 9 for the reception, through the latter, of the different rooms that make up the control mechanism 3.

This front part 9 of the housing 2 also includes, so advantageous means 10 for fixing a forming element cover 11 provided with complementary fixing means 12.

Such fastening means 10, as well as the fastening means complementary 12, can be provided with a snap type and / or interlocking. Figures 3, 4, 5 and 7 correspond to a embodiment where the cover member 11 comes snap onto the front part 9 of the housing 2. Thus, this cover element 11 has a cross section substantially in a "U" shape so as to cover the housing 2 in its part front 9. It has a front wall 13 from which extend, in longitudinal edge 14, 15 of the side walls 16, 17 provided parallel adapted to overlap, externally to the housing 2, to the side walls 6 and 7 of the latter.

On the internal side 18 these side walls 16, 17 of the element forming cover 11 includes fixing means complementary 12 in the form of a rim 19 forming a step, continuous or discontinuous, provided capable of cooperating with a flange attachment 20, again of continuous or discontinuous type, arranged on the external side 21 to the side walls 6,7 of the housing 2 and corresponding, therefore, to the fixing means 10.

Advantageously, the flanges 19 as visible in FIG. 5 and / or the attachment flanges 20 visible in particular in FIG. 3, are chamfered on their side coming to lie opposite one on the other at the time of nesting, so as to make this one easier. In fact, we come to facilitate the crossing of the hanging edges 20 associated with the housing 2 by the edges 19 of the cover element 11.

As indicated above, both the flanges 19 and the attachment flanges 20 may be continuous or discontinuous. In done, the same goes for the side walls 16, 17 of the element forming a cover 11 which can be in the form of tongues.

Advantageously, this cover element 11 comprises, at at least one of its ends 22, an extension 23 under shape of a substantially flat wall and provided with an opening 24 for the passage of a locking member 25, such as a cylindrical or mushroom-shaped roller, moreover maneuverable through the operating rod 4 extending under said extension 23.

Ultimately and according to a feature of this invention, under this extension 23 of the element forming cover 11 the housing 2 itself has an extension 26 which receives fastening means 10A provided capable of cooperating with complementary fixing means 12A which comprises, in particular at its free end 27, said extension 26 of the cover element 11.

More particularly, these complementary fixing means 12A are in the form of one or more tabs 28, 29 extending under said extension 23, in particular at height of its end 30, to cooperate with a flange hanging or one or more sections of ledges attachment 31 located on the side external to the side walls 6, 7 of said extension 26 of the housing 2.

It is obvious, under these conditions, that any organ of locking 25 in the form of a roller or the like, is guaranteed by perfect guidance through the opening 24 in the extension 23 of the cover element 11, in the since this extension 23 is perfectly maintained at through its cooperation with the extension 26 of the housing 2.

As shown in Figure 6 the opening 24 in the extension 23 of the cover element 11 can be present as a buttonhole especially when said locking member 25 takes the form of a roller mushroom or any structure in "T" and present, between its connection with the operating rod 4 and its part end 32 a section 33 of smaller section and height at least equal to the thickness of the defining wall said extension 23 of the cover element 11.

Under these conditions, the opening 24 in the form of a buttonhole has a portion 34 of width 35 adjusted to the section of said section 33 and of length depending on the race communicated to this locking member 25 under the impulse of said rod 4. This opening 24 also has a passage 36 which is adjusted to the end portion 32 of larger section of this locking member 25 and of which the position is determined to allow mounting of the cover element 11, either by simple snap-on such as visible in Figure 7, or by fitting as shown in figure 8.

In fact, in such a situation and during assembly, the cover member 11 is first of all fitted on the box 2 before it is communicated a displacement longitudinal with respect to the latter in order to allow retaining lugs 19A, fitted, on the internal side 18, the walls side 16, 17 of the cover member 11, as well as the internal side of the tabs 28, 29 extending under the extension 23, to slip under ledges attachment 20A, 31 corresponding. Obviously such retaining pins 19A can be configured so similar to the edges 19 of the embodiment described above, in that they can be chamfered just like the sections of hooking edges 20A, 31 so as to provide the operator the possibility of fitting the cover element 11 on the housing 2 is to clip one on the other.

Insofar as such a cover element 11 has no real mechanical role, apart from the maintenance and guiding the locking member 25, but, that, all simply, to close the box 2, otherwise type monobloc, it is possible to design it in a material synthetic, in particular by an injection molding process and its aesthetics can be treated in order to improve the design of the lever, in its visible part in rebate of carpentry.

Given, moreover, that it is likely to be reported on the case 2 by the carpenter himself, at the moment when this one comes to equip a joinery of the type door or window of fitting adapted, we can consider personalizing it.

In practice, this cover element 11 can carry, by example on its visible face of the front wall 13, one or several advertising or technical inscriptions in the form of labels and / or resulting from the molding process by injection. Such a solution cannot be proposed in the case boxes in two parts necessarily pre-assembled in the factory, during the production of the cremone bolt. Indeed, this would involve heavy inventory management for the manufacturer of these cremones.

Consequently, the invention responds effectively to the problem posed.

Claims (7)

1. Espagnolette for a piece of carpentry such as a door or window, including a casing (2) designed so as to be capable of being positioned in an encasing groove in the fillister of the piece of carpentry and receiving a control mechanism (3) aimed at bringing at least one operating rod (4, 5), extending above and/or under said casing (2), into a locking or unlocking position, said casing (2) including, in its front portion (9), fixing means (10) aimed at receiving a member forming a cover (11) provided with complementary fixing means (12), this member forming a cover (11) also including, in its front wall (13), an elongated opening (24) for the passing-through of a locking organ (25), such as a roller or a locking roller subjected to the action of an operating rod (4), this member forming a cover (11) including, at least at one of its ends (22), in particular on the side oriented towards said locking organ (25), an extension (23) provided with an opening (24) for the passing-through of the latter, characterised in that the member forming a cover (11) adopts a U-shaped structure, whereas the extension (23), at least at its end (22) on the side oriented towards the locking organ (25), is planar and includes complementary fixing means (12A), viz. at its free end (30), designed so as to be capable of co-operating with fixing means (10A) associated to a complementary extension (26) of said casing (2), the fixing means (10A) and the complementary fixing means (12A) being of the snapping-in or encasing type.

Espagnolette according to claim 1, characterised in that the element forming a cover (11) is defined so as to recover the casing (2) at its front portion (9) and includes a front wall (13) from which extend, on the longitudinal edges (14, 15), side-walls (16, 17) on the inner side (18) of the latter, these including complementary fixing means (12) in the form of a continuous or discontinuous rim (19) forming a set-back, designed so as to be capable of co-operating with a continuous or discontinuous hooking-in rim (20) provided for on the external side (21) of the side-walls (6, 7) of the casing (2) and corresponding to the fixing means (10).
3. Espagnolette according to claim 2, characterised in that the side-walls (16, 17) of the element forming a cover (11) are in the form of tongues.

Espagnolette according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the complementary fixing means (12A) associated to the extension (23) of the element forming a cover (11) are in the form of one or several tongues (28, 29) extending under said extension (23), in order to co-operate with a hooking-in rim or with one or several hooking-in rim segments (31) located on the external side of the side-walls (6, 7) of said extension (26) of the casing (2).

Espagnolette according to claim 4, characterised in that the fixing means (10) associated to the casing (2) are, on the external side (21) of the side-walls (6, 7) of the latter, in the form of hooking-in rim segments (20A) under which are capable of sliding retaining pawls (19A) provided on the inner side (18) of the side-walls (16, 17) of the element forming a cover (11) and/or the inner side of the tongues (28, 29) extending under the extension (23) of this element forming a cover (11).

Espagnolette according to claim 5 or claims 2 and 4, characterised in that the rim (19) or, as the case may be, the retaining pawls (19A), on the one hand, and the hooking-in rims (20 ; 20A ; 31), on the other hand, are bevelled on their side located in front of each other when snapping on and/or encasing the element forming a cover (11) onto the casing (2).

Espagnolette according to any of the preceding claims, including a locking organ (25) adopting the form of a mushroom-shaped locking roller or of any T-shaped structure whatsoever and having, between its connection to the operating rod (4) and its end portion (32), a segment (33) with a reduced cross-section and a height at least equal to the thickness of the wall defining said extension (23) of the element forming a cover (11), characterised in that the opening (24) in said extension (23) adopts the form of a buttonhole has a portion (34) of a width (35) adapted to the cross-section of said segment (33) of the locking organ (25) and a length depending on the travel distance imparted to the latter under the action of said operating rod (4), this opening (24) also including a passageway (36) adapted to the end portion (32) with a larger cross-section of this locking organ (25) and the position of which is so determined as to enable the fitting of the element forming a cover (11), as the case may be, through snapping-on or through encasement onto the casing (2).
