- the cooling air W1 diverted via the air guide 113 flows in the first cooling-air path 122 of the divided muffler-cooling air passage 126 along the inner surface of the inner cover 123, to thereby cool the outer surface of the muffler 102.
- the cooling air W1 diverted via the air guide 113 also flows in the second cooling-air path 124 of the divided muffler-cooling air passage 126 along the outer cover 125, to thereby cool the outer surface of the inner cover 123.
- the cooling air W1 flowing through the second cooling-air path124 functions as a heat blocking air layer, namely, an air curtain, that effectively blocks the heat transfer from the inner cover 123.
- the outer surface temperature of the outer cover 125 can be reduced sufficiently by the cooling air W1 flowing through the two paths 122 and 124 of the divided muffler-cooling air passage 126 in the manner as described above. Further, because the proportion of the cooling air W1 flowing through the two cooling-air paths 122 and 124 has just cooled and passed only the generator 50 and thus is still at a relatively low temperature, it can cool the muffler 102 with sufficient efficiency. The cooling air W1 having thus cooled and passed the muffler 102 is discharged back to the outside.
- the preferred embodiment can effectively reduce undesired heat radiation from the muffler 102 to the fuel tank 90, by closing the top and side portions of the muffler 102 with the heat blocking cover 121.
- the cooling air W1 flowing between the fuel tank 90 and the muffler 102 can form an air curtain blocking the heat transfer between the two.
- the outer surface temperature of the heat blocking cover 121 can be kept low so that adverse thermal influences of the muffler 102 on the fuel tank 90 can be reliably avoided even where the muffler 102 is located close to the fuel tank 90.
- the fuel tank 90 and muffler 102 both having a great capacity can be safely positioned very close to each other, and such a great-capacity muffler 102 can reduce an undesired roar of the engine exhaust to a significant degree.

- the auxiliary fan 63 of the cooling fan device 60 operates to suck in the cooling air from the outside through the auxiliary cooling air inlets 133 formed in the closing plate 132.
- the thus-introduced cooling air W2 flows into the space defined by the outer rotor 54 to cool the stator core 51 and coils 52 and then is directed, through the air holes 54a formed in the bottom wall of the outer rotor 54, onto the auxiliary fan 63. Then, the cooling air W2 is discharged back to the outside by the centrifugal force of the fan 63 and merges with the above-mentioned cooling air W1 discharged via the main fan 62.
- the engine generator unit in accordance with the present invention is characterized primarily in that the electric-power generator is supported by the engine in a cantilever fashion so that both the stator and the rotor of the generator will vibrate together with the engine during operation, and that the generator is fixed to the framework via the engine and rugged fan cover secured to the engine so that it can be supported with sufficient firmness. Even where the engine and fan cover are mounted with some positional error therebetween, as is often the case with this type of engine generator unit, such error can be well accommodated by a gap present between the inner surface of the fan cover and the outer rotor.
- the fan cover is made of die-cast aluminum alloy having a high thermal conductivity, and the cooling air drawn in from the outside via the cooling fan continues to be blown onto the inner surface of the fan cover. Because such a fan cover is attached directly to the engine, the heat accumulated in the outer wall of the engine can be efficiently radiated to the outside. As a result, the generator and engine can be cooled with increased efficiency and the oil temperature and the like in the engine can be constantly kept low.
- the fan cover has a plurality of axial slits formed in an end surface of the cooling-air inlet portion and the plurality of axial slits of the fan cover and an end surface of the recoil starter together constitute a plurality of air-sucking slits
- the plurality of axial slits can be formed with ease simultaneously with formation of the fan cover.
- the cooling fan device is a centrifugal cooling fan device that forces the cooling air from the outside into between the outer rotor and the fan cover so as to send the cooling air to the engine and a vicinity thereof, the cooling air can effectively cool the inner peripheral surface of the fan cover.

Claims (2)
- Motorgeneratoreinheit, umfassend einen Motor (40), einen durch den Motor anzutreibenden elektrischen Stromgenerator (50), wobei der Motor (40) und der elektrische Stromgenerator (50) koaxial in einer Richtung einer Ausgangswelle (41) des Motors (40) vorgesehen sind, wobei der elektrische Stromgenerator (50) ein Generator vom Außenrotor-Magnettyp ist, der einen auslegerartigen Außenrotor (54) aufweist, der auch als Ersatz für ein Schwungrad des Motors (40) fungiert, eine Kühlgebläsevorrichtung (60), die an dem Außenrotor (54) angebracht ist, eine Gebläseabdeckung (80), die den elektrischen Stromgenerator (50) und die Kühlgebläsevorrichtung (60) abdeckt, wobei die Gebläseabdeckung (80) allgemein zylinderförmig ist und an ihrem einen von dem Motor (40) entfernten einen Ende einen Kühllufteinlassabschnitt (81) aufweist, um Kühlluft von der Außenseite der Motorgeneratoreinheit über die Kühlgebläsevorrichtung (60) einzuführen, einen Rückspulstarter (70), der an dem Kühllufteinlassabschnitt (81) angebracht ist, wobei die Gebläseabdeckung (80) an ihrem dem einen Ende entgegengesetzten anderen Ende einen Kühlluftauslassabschnitt (87) aufweist, um die Kühlluft auf eine Außenumfangfläche des Motors (40) zu blasen, und Tragbeinelemente (43, 84), die an der Gebläseabdeckung (80) und dem Motor (40) gesichert sind, wobei die Tragbeinelemente an einem Rahmenwerk (11) über Stoßdämpfelemente (44, 85) angebracht sind, worin die Kühlgebläsevorrichtung (60) eine Zentrifugalkühlgebläsevorrichtung aufweist, die die Kühlluft zwischen den Außenrotor (54) und die Gebläseabdeckung (80) drückt, um die Kühlluft zu der Außenumfangsfläche des Motors (40) durch den Kühlluftauslassabschnitt (87) zu schicken, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Gebläseabdeckung (80) aus Druckgussaluminiumlegierung hergestellt ist und an ihrem dem einen Ende entgegengesetzten anderen Ende direkt an dem Motor (40) angebracht ist, so dass die Gebläseabdeckung (80) als Wärmeabstrahlelement dient, um durch den Motor (40) erzeugte Wärme abzustrahlen.
- Motorgeneratoreinheit nach Anspruch 1, worin die Gebläseabdeckung (80) eine Mehrzahl axialer Schlitze (82) aufweist, die in einer Endoberfläche des Kühllufteinlassabschnitts (81) ausgebildet sind, und die Mehrzahl von axialen Schlitzen (82) der Gebläseabdeckung (80) und eine Endoberfläche des Rückspulstarters (70) gemeinsam eine Mehrzahl von Luftansaugschlitzen bilden.
