Definitions
- the invention relates to a printing plate according to the preamble of claim 1 and a process for their preparation in accordance the preamble of claim 6.
- the invention is based on printing plates which are rolled up or placed on cylinders, so-called plate cylinders, by printing presses and are tensioned by folding at their circumferential ends.
- Such printing plates have a surface on one of their flat sides that can be imaged by printing technology.
- the corresponding surfaces B. grained, ie they are roughened or coated with light- or laser-sensitive coatings.
- the starting material for normal width printing plates is made from rolled sheet metal strip, e.g. B. made of aluminum, cut and folded transversely to the rolling direction.
- the sheet metal strip can already be provided with an imageable surface.
- the plates which form the starting material for this must be cut off transversely to the rolling direction of the sheet, since the rolling mills can only produce a limited maximum strip width.
- the folds for clamping these printing plates therefore run along the rolling direction of the metal strip that was used as the starting material.
- the crystal axes of rolled materials are aligned in the rolling plane and rolling direction (textures), which increases strength in this direction, but increases the tendency to tear in the longitudinal direction. Due to this property, printing plates that are too wide can break after relatively few rollovers and have a significantly shorter service life compared to normal widths.
- the object of the invention is to increase the service life of such printing plates and to provide a method for their production. This object is achieved with the features of claims 1 and 6 according to the invention.
- one component of the load lies in the direction of the increased material strength. This extends the service life of the printing plate.
- the method according to the invention it is possible to produce wide printing plates with increased strength in the direction of stress. Several pages can be illustrated side by side on extra-wide printing plates. They are used on very wide printing machines, the substrate web widths of z. B. Process over 1460 mm paper width.
- Figure 1 shows a conventional printing plate (1) of the Side viewed.
- the functional side (2) extends with their surface into the image plane and is printing technology imageable. That is z. B. enables that Functional side (2) with a light-sensitive layer is provided, which after exposure and development - accordingly the object to be printed - ink accepting or ink repelling Has zones. But for this process too the laser technology can be used well, e.g. B. so-called plate setters. The same effect can also be achieved through granular Surfaces can be achieved by the function side (2) is roughened.
- After imaging the printing plate (1) are at their two ends in the printing direction various bends (3) bent. At these bends (3) the pressure plate (1) after rolling up or hanging up on a cylinder of a printing press by means of those provided Facilities kept and excited.
- Printing plates (1) are usually made from plates, which as plates (5) from rolled sheet metal strip (4) be cut out.
- Figure 2 is the invention Alignment of such a board (5) on the sheet metal strip (4) shown.
- the board (5) with the width B and the calculated stretched length L is oblique to the longitudinal direction of the Sheet metal strip (4), so that the rolling direction WR compared to Main directions of the board (5) also run obliquely.
- the term main directions is the extension of the Board (5) in the directions of width B and length L. understand. The more the orientation of the length L towards The rolling direction approximates WR, the greater the load capacity the pressure plate (1) in the direction of length L.
- FIG 3 the arrangement of several boards (5) on the Sheet metal strip (4) shown as for an inventive Manufacturing process is provided.
- the sheet metal strip (4) is by cutting on cut lines (6) that are around the section length D are offset, divided.
- the section length D results from the position of the board (5) on the metal strip (4), because the section line (6) goes through, on the surface of the Sheet metal strips (4) lying corners of two successive Boards (5).
- the resulting intermediate products (7) are shown in FIG. 4 shown. They are in the form of rectangles with the bandwidth W as the first edge length and the section length D as second length at right angles to it.
- the cutting lines (8, 9) By cutting out along the cutting lines (8, 9) the dimensions the plates (5) in their oblique position to the rolling direction WR generated. This cutting out can be done with a punch be carried out in a press. You can do it at the same time register marks can also be set.
- FIG. 5 shows the procedure for another one according to the invention Process in which the waste is optimized is and therefore the costs are lower.
- the plates (5) are at an angle to the rolling direction WR of the metal strip (4), but the boards (5) follow one another without longitudinal offset. This is offset by oblique Cuts along the cutting line (10) achieved by which already defines the width B of the printing plates (1) become.
- both the angle of the Section line (10) as well as the clock that is, the offset between the cuts made, on different inclinations different boards (5) can be adapted.
- FIG. 6 shows an intermediate product (11) from the previous one Process step.
- These intermediates (11) are Parallelograms with a height corresponding to the bandwidth W.

Abstract
