Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for mounting at least one rod lens in the interior of a tube belonging to an endoscope by fixing the rod lens in the interior of the tube at at least two axially spaced locations, with the following steps:
  • the invention further relates to an endoscope with a tube, in the interior of which at least one rod lens is fixed at at least two axially spaced apart locations, the rod lens having an outer diameter which is dimensioned such that after inserting the rod lens into the tube between the outside of the tube There is an air gap between the rod lens and the inside of the tube, and the outside of the rod lens is arranged at a defined radial distance from the inside of the tube.
  • Endoscopes are commonly used in surgery to inspect body cavities and hollow organs. Endoscopes have an elongated tubular shaft, in which components of an optical observation system are arranged. Furthermore, further devices, usually a light supply device, and possibly channels for instruments, rinsing liquid or the like are provided in the interior of the shaft. The light is usually supplied via light-conducting glass fibers.
  • the optical system of rigid endoscopes is usually accommodated in a tube lying inside the endoscope shaft .
  • Wesentli ⁇ che components of the optical system, in particular the so-called rod lenses HOPKINS optical microscopes are used in the endo- lenses.
  • the lenses and other components of the optical system such as diaphragms, filters and the like are arranged along the tube shaft axis and have the task of reproducing a clear field of view as large as possible with high resolution and high contrast.
  • the most important prerequisite for this is the precise arrangement of the lenses and the other components of the optical system with one another inside the tube belonging to the endoscope.
  • the relative position of a lens is not variable, but precisely defined. Every shift of the lenses relative to each other leads to a reduced image quality.
  • a precise arrangement is often achieved in that the outside diameter of a rod lens corresponds exactly to the inside diameter of the tube, that is, the lens is accommodated without radial play.
  • Spacers inserted between the lenses including a distal and a proximal end piece, ensure axial positioning and fixing of the lenses or optical components.
  • Endoscopic shafts are very long compared to their diameter, usual diameters are in the range of a few millimeters, the length in the range of several decimeters.
  • bending moments act on the thin and long shafts, which can cause the relatively long rod lenses made of glass materials to break.
  • the rod lenses provided there are connected to each other in the interior of the endoscope shaft by an additional inner tube.
  • This inner tube has longitudinally extending slots in the region in which it bridges the ends of two adjacent, spaced-apart rod lenses.
  • the rod lenses fit without any radial play in the inner tube, i.e. the outside diameter of a lens corresponds to the inside diameter of the inner tube.
  • the rod lenses are either only clamped in the tube or glued with adhesive.

  • the possibility of bending the tubular shaft within certain limits without breaking the rod lenses is made possible by the Slots of the inner tube reached.
  • the inner tube can bend slightly in the area of the slits, i.e. in the area between two adjacent rod lenses.
  • Centering elements are known from DE 37 30 094 C2, which are evenly distributed around the circumference of a lens. From DE-A-722 587 two axially spaced centering aids are known and from DD 264 523 AI methods for coaxial gluing of lenses are known.
  • the object is further achieved in the endoscope mentioned at the outset in that the outside of the rod lens is fixed to the inside of the tube by adhesive using adhesive.
  • the tube provided can be the tube shaft of the endoscope itself or another inner tube of the endoscope, which is inserted into the tube shaft of the endoscope only after the lenses have been installed.
  • the positioning of the rod lens centrally in the tube with the aid of the centering aids ensures that there is a uniform air gap, ie a defined radial distance, between the outside of the rod lens and the inside of the tube.
  • centering aids Due to the axial spacing of the centering points at which the centering aids act, tilting of the rod lens within the tube is reliably prevented during assembly, so that the rod lens can be aligned exactly along the optical axis.
  • two, three or even more centering aids can be provided, which are each axially spaced apart.
  • an elastic adhesive connection is established between the outside of the rod lens and the inside of the tube, the adhesive to be used here not completely filling the air gap, but rather being applied only to at least two axially spaced adhesive points.

  • the assembly produced by the method according to the invention from one or more rod lenses in the interior of the tube has the advantage that the rod lenses against axial as well as radial displacement, in particular against, due to the adhesive points Tilting, are secured. Attaching the adhesive to the gluing points ensures that the rod lenses are fixed in the correct position. They therefore deliver a constant image quality.
  • the outside of the rod lens Due to the air gap provided, the outside of the rod lens has no direct contact with the inside of the tube, so that even with high shaking stress (such as when cleaning the endoscope by ultrasound) no abrasion is generated which could adversely affect the optics.
  • the air gap together with the adhesive points according to the invention, ensures the desired flexibility of the assembly of the tube and lens with regard to loads, in particular with regard to bending moments.
  • the air gap together with the gluing points which produce an elastic connection between the lens and the tube, allows only the tube to bend at first. For example, only a small bending moment is exerted on the rod lens, which is made of glass and can therefore only be loaded to a limited extent, which only increases when the tube is bent so large that its inside touches the outside of the rod lens.
  • the tube can thus bend in an arc, since there is a clearance between the rod lens and the tube in the form of the air gap.
  • the air gap together with the gluing points, additionally protects the lens against external forces, since the gluing connection is elastic and can therefore dampen impacts. This significantly reduces the risk of the rod lenses breaking, even if the endoscope is placed down heavily or even falls.
  • the endoscope according to the invention has the advantage that its rod lenses are securely fixed, so that axial or radial displacements are prevented. At the same time, bending of the tubular shaft of the endoscope is possible to a certain extent, namely in that an air gap is provided between the outside of the rod lens and the inside of the tube, which is bridged only by the elastic adhesive points. This allows the tube to bend to a certain extent without the bending moments acting on the rod lens. This prevents the rod lens from breaking when the endoscope is being handled and while it is being cleaned.
  • the object of the invention is thus completely achieved.
  • the exact design of which is provided between the outer side of the rod lens and the inner side of the tube radial distance or air gap can vary depending on the desired application under ⁇ be differently.

  • the radial distance between the outside of the rod lens and the inside of the tube is selected so that it is in the range of approximately 0.05 to 0.3 mm, preferably in the range of approximately 0.1 mm.
  • both the insertion of the rod lens into the tube and the creation of the adhesive connection are possible without any problems, since there is sufficient scope for insertion without the adhesive points having to bridge an excessive radial distance, as a result of which the adhesive connection could become unstable.
  • the positioning is carried out with at least three centering elements arranged circumferentially offset by 120 ° per centering aid.
  • This measure has the advantage that the rod lens is supported in a particularly secure manner, and thus it is no longer possible to move or tilt the rod lens. In this way, the rod lens can first be brought into its exact axial position, and then its radial or central position can be adjusted.
  • Another advantage of this measure is that the centering elements can be handled from the outside, which makes the centering process considerably easier.
