Abstract

The invention concerns a waterproof case, in particular to sea water, opening by mere pressure on two opposite points, consisting of a flattened wallet (1) preferably made in one single piece of synthetic material and comprising on the inner face of the opening edges (5, 6) at least a compressible bonded or sealed joint (7) pressed against the second joint (8) or the opposite edge so as to make it absolutely waterproof when no pressure is exerted, the walls of the device being arranged such that pressure on the side ends of these edges causes them to move apart thus providing access inside the device. The invention is useful for the protection of various objects such as coins, bank notes, keys, identity papers against water, perspiration, sand, dust and the like.

Description

The subject of the present invention is a waterproof case, especially seawater, opening by simple pressure on two opposite points.

Its purpose is to protect various objects such as coins, banknotes, keys, identity papers, against water, perspiration from sand, dust, etc.
It is particularly intended for swimmers and allows them to keep their valuables on them when they engage in nautical antics such as swimming, diving, windsurfing or other.

To date there are a number of devices intended to protect objects against sea water. knows in particular belts comprising one or more watertight compartments, but these are systems relatively expensive and bulky whose use can hardly to generalize.

The patents N ° FR 2,513,864 and N ° FR 2,517,183, filed by the author of the present application, disclose a flexible waterproof case of flattened shape comprising on one of its faces a cutout in which s 'adjusts a rigid cover through a groove formed either at the periphery of this cut, or at the periphery of the cover.
The necessity of having to insert the cover into the groove of the case, or the edges of the cut-out in that of the cover makes the opening and closing operations difficult and it can happen that the cover is lost.
Patent N ° US 2,039,887 (JJ COLLETTI) describes a purse consisting of a pocket of waterproof material with tight closure formed of a pair of elastic bands comprising grooves and ribs fitting into each other.
This kind of device being especially intended to be used on the beach, grains of sand risk being lodged in the grooves by compromising the sealing of the whole.

The device according to the present invention has for goal of. remedy this state of affairs by allowing the realization of a perfectly waterproof case and a cost of low manufacturing can be placed in the pocket hang on the neck or hang on any clothing support, in order to allow the user not to part with his tickets or papers when he bathes.

It consists of a flattened pocket made preferably in one piece of synthetic material and comprising on the internal face of the edges of the opening at minus a glued or sealed compressible seal that is plated a against the second joint or against the opposite edge so as to make the pouch perfectly waterproof when no pressure is not exercised, the walls of the device being arranged to that pressure on the lateral ends of these edges causing their separation by allowing access to the interior of the device.

  • In the appended drawings, given by way of nonlimiting examples of embodiments of the subject of the invention:
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 respectively show in axonometric perspective, the open and closed case,
  • FIG. 3 is a vertical cross-section along the arrows AA ′ in FIG. 2,
  • FIG. 4 represents the steel blades intended to increase the closing pressure and
  • FIG. 5 represents the invention, the steel blades not being visible.
The device, Figures 1 to 5, consists of a case 1 forming a flattened pocket of generally rectangular shape, closed on three sides 2, 3, 4, and whose edges 5, 6 on the fourth side can come together to ensure watertight closure, or move apart to allow filling or empty the pouch.

The case 1 is made of semi-rigid or flexible material, and arranged in such a way that the edges 5, 6 press against one another when no force is exerted (FIG. 1), a pressure carried out according to the arrows PP 'on the lateral ends of these edges causing them to deform into arcs of a circle and sufficient spacing to allow access to the content of the device (FIG. 2).
The latter is preferably made in one piece in a material resistant to sea water, such as synthetic material injected or thermoformed by blowing, or else implemented by any technique allowing the same result to be obtained.
At least one of the internal faces of the edges 5, 6 of the fourth side is coated with a compressible seal 7, 8, for example made of elastomer foam, determined so that the case is perfectly sealed at rest, when no pressure is exerted on the lateral ends of the edges.
The joint (s) 7, 8 can be fixed by gluing, or by heat sealing during the manufacture of the case 1.

In order to have sufficient rigidity to guarantee the tightness of the assembly, the edges 5, 6 may advantageously have a thickness greater than that of the walls 9, 10 of the pocket 1.
According to an alternative embodiment, the closing force is obtained by means of steel blades 11, 12 incorporated in the walls 9, 10 of the case 1, for example between these walls and the seals 7, 8. This arrangement makes it possible to use a flexible material for the manufacture of the pouch (FIG. 5).
A strap 13 may be provided on one of the external faces of the device, in which a belt can be passed in order to fix the case at the waist (FIG. 3). Likewise, the sides of the pouch may include eyelets 14 capable of receiving a cord or a chain passing around the neck or allowing the case 1 to be suspended (FIG. 1).

Thanks to its simplicity, its ease of use and at its low cost, the device that comes to be described lends itself particularly well to the realization purses, key chains or card holders that can be used everywhere and in all circumstances and in especially on the beach.

The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained by devices Similar.
