Claims (14)
- A light fitting comprising a base section having two lateral flanges and an electrical supply rail placed inside the base section, a transparent plastic section applied against the lateral flanges of the base section and two covers which are capable of engaging with the base section and the transparent section and are placed at the ends of the light fitting, wherein the transparent section (3) made of plastic is cut to a length slightly greater than that of the base section and has lateral edges (31, 32) which completely cover, by surrounding them, the upper ends (21a, 21b) of the flanges of the base section (2), the transparent section (3) resting at the two ends of the fitting on the upper edge of a closure endpiece (7) fastened to the base section (2), the two end covers (4) being pressed against the endpiece (7) and enclosing the transparent section (3) and the upper edges (21a, 21b) of the base section (2).
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, which comprises two lateral sections (5) which are placed in the length direction and cover the lateral edges (31, 32) of the transparent plastic section (3) over their entire length.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 2, wherein each section (5) has a rounded slideway (13) which is slipped into rounded slots (12) in the base section (2) so as to remain fixed over the entire length of the fitting, the free end of each section (5) being designed to press the transparent plastic (3) against the edge of the base section (2) and to hold it in place laterally.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein the transparent plastic section is made of extruded plastic.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein the transparent plastic section is made of transparent polycarbonate (MACROLON or PLEXIGLAS).
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 2, wherein the base section (2) and the lateral sections (5) are made of extruded aluminum.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein its length may be variable, in order to obtain a length of up to 300 cm.
- The light fitting as claimed in claims 1 and 2, wherein the aluminum covers (4) leave a free space at ::^;e ends of the fitting so that the transparent plastic (2) and the aluminum sections (5), which are slightly longer than the base section (2), can vary in length because of the expansion and contraction of the materials with the variations in temperature.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base section (2) includes holes (6) in its lower part so as to be able to drain off the water produced by condensation from its interior.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein at least one of the upper edges (21b) of the base section (2) terminates in an inclined shape in order to make it easier to fit the transparent plastic section (3).
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein the closure endpieces (7) are positioned relative to the base section (2) using pins (19), the covers (4) covering the endpieces (7) and being fastened by means of screws (10) screwed into the boreholes (8) in the base section (2).
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base section (2) has a lug (17) and a groove (16) allowing the fitting to be fastened to a fastening member by a simple clip-in system.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, which is designed to contain, inside it, a parabolic reflector which concentrates the light beam in one direction.
- The light fitting as claimed in claim 1, which is designed to contain, inside it, at least one diffusing grid in order to prevent the light from being reflected in undesirable directions.
