Definitions

  • the invention relates to a chuck for shaft ends of tool inserts, in particular hexagonal screwdriver bits with shaft-side corner recesses or circumferential engagement grooves, with a socket receiving the shaft end, the inner cross section of which corresponds to the cross section of the shaft end and at least one on the shaft end by the movement of a seated on the socket Sleeve acting, limited movement locking member, which is arranged in a wall opening of the socket, the sleeve being movable in the longitudinal and / or circumferential direction of the bushing and can be applied with at least one clamping surface against the locking member to act on the shaft end.
  • Such chucks are known for example from DE 29 34 428, DE-PS 32 43 389, DE-PS 33 30 486, EP 0 462 257, DE-OS 42 43 650 or DE-OS 43 36 376.
  • a ball seated in a wall bore of the socket is used as the locking element, which presses against the shaft end of the sleeve against the shaft end of the screwdriver bit on the surface or a corner by the system and thus locks it against unintentional falling out of the chuck .
  • the wall bore in the bushing must be made very precisely, since support shoulders must remain on the bushing inner wall, which prevent the ball from falling out into the bushing when the shaft end is not inserted. Problems can already arise in this connection if the drilling tool used has different operating temperatures or wear conditions. In practice is therefore in the manufacture of such chucks to expect an increased committee.
  • a ball as a thrust piece is also problematic in that it can wear out due to its comparatively small contact surfaces, or if it is incorporated into the clamping surface of the sleeve after prolonged use, so that the chuck does not function properly.
  • Another disadvantage of the known chucks is that they are usually only for shaft ends with corner recesses (see DIN 3126, version C 6.3) or for shaft ends with a circumferential engagement groove (see DIN 3126, version E 6.3) ) are suitable.
  • balls are used whose diameter is less than half the shaft end dimension (cf. EP 0 462 257), while for the E version of the bits larger balls are to be provided, which are correspondingly deep in the can engage pronounced groove.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a generic chuck in which the use of balls as a locking member acting on the shaft end can be dispensed with.
  • the wall opening for receiving the locking member is designed as a transverse to the longitudinal direction of the socket wall slot and the locking member as an arch piece sitting in the wall slot of the socket.
  • the wall slot is formed by the choice of a corresponding saw blade, the slot width being slightly larger than the maximum width of the arch piece.
  • the bow piece used is its curvature and its dimensions are such that it rests with its end faces without a bit inserted into the socket on the cut surfaces of the wall slot and its outer circumference comes to lie slightly below the outer circumference of the socket.
  • the arc piece in the radial direction to the outside, where it is then created by the movement of the sleeve against the clamping surface, which in turn presses the arch piece against the shaft or its corner recesses or engagement grooves and locks them.
  • the sleeve can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the bushing against the force of a spiral spring.
  • the inner diameter of the sleeve has a conical taper which forms the clamping surface and which, under the action of the spring force, automatically lies against the arch piece.
  • the use of a spring can be dispensed with entirely.
  • the sleeve can be rotated in the circumferential direction of the bush and has an eccentric cross-sectional widening of its inner cross section. By correspondingly turning the sleeve, this cross-sectional widening comes to lie over the arch piece, so that it can withdraw and the bit can be inserted or removed.
  • the circular inner surface of the sleeve can serve as a clamping surface, since the arc piece deforms or widens elastically. There is therefore no need to fear an undesired turning of the sleeve in the direction of the unlocking position, as occurs with chucks with balls.
  • this is preferably somewhat smaller with respect to its circumferential length than the circumferential length of the wall slot.
  • the arch piece can be made part-circular be so that it can be produced inexpensively from the tension rings made of spring steel and has a circular cross section.
  • the chucks according to the invention are extremely durable, since the bow piece used can deform elastically and wear practically does not occur. In contrast to chucks with balls as thrust pieces, the manufacturing tolerances with regard to the clamping surface to be formed are also much less problematic to observe.
  • the arch piece preferably lies in two-point contact with the prism-like surfaces of the corner recesses of the shaft end in the case of a C version of the bit. Since the length of the arc piece or the wall slot is preferably chosen so that the arc piece overlaps at least two edges of the shaft end, there is an excellent locking and centering effect in the socket.
  • the curved piece of an E version lies in a line or surface arrangement on the circumferential engagement groove of the shaft end.
  • the chuck according to the invention can therefore be used for all commercially available bits, of course also for those without an engagement groove or corner cutouts.
  • the socket preferably has an inner permanent magnet for determining the height of the shaft end, the magnetic force of which is transmitted via the bit to the screw head, which then no longer falls off the bit in the loose state.
  • the chuck according to the invention can also be used for tool inserts such as those used for. B.
  • B. are known from German utility model 295 01 859.3. The invention is illustrated in the drawing, for example, and is explained in detail below with reference to the drawing. Show it:
  • FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a chuck according to the invention with a conical clamping surface
  • Fig. 2 shows a section through the chuck. 1 in the direction I-I
  • Fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section through a chuck, the clamping sleeve has an eccentric cross-sectional widening and
  • Fig. 4 shows a section through the adapter sleeve. Fig. 3.
  • a sleeve 5 which is movable in the circumferential direction and to a limited extent in the longitudinal direction, is placed on a socket 2 for receiving the shaft end 3 of a screwdriver bit 4.
  • the cross-sectional area of the inner receptacle 6 of the bush 2 corresponds to the cross section of the shaft 3, which is designed as a hexagon.
  • a slot 8 is formed which extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the chuck 1 and into which a part-circular arc piece 9 is inserted.
  • the arch piece 9 has a circular cross section and is with respect. Its arc length or curvature is selected so that it cannot fall into the receptacle 6 of the socket 2 when the screwdriver bit 4 is not inserted.
  • the curved piece 9 When the screwdriver bit 4 is inserted, the curved piece 9 is pressed outward in the radial direction and its outer circumference 10 comes to bear against the wedge-shaped clamping surface 11 which is formed in the interior of the sleeve 5. If the sleeve 5 is pushed upwards against the force of the spring 12, which is designed as a spiral compression spring, the bow piece 9 can be tapered due to the conically Retreat inner cross-sectional area 11 to the outside, so that it no longer acts on the shaft end 3 and thus releases the screwdriver bit 4.
  • the compression spring 12 is arranged in a circumferential spring groove 13 which is delimited by an upper shoulder 14 and a lower shoulder 15.
  • a further circumferential shoulder 16 is formed in the interior of the sleeve 5, against which the spring 12 abuts and thus automatically presses the sleeve 5 down into the position shown in the figure, in which the curved piece 9 on the shaft end 3 or its corner recesses.
  • the z. B. is designed as an O-ring or snap ring, the sleeve 5 is additionally secured.
  • the arch piece 9 has a locking effect with respect to the shaft end 3 in the position shown, since it engages in two adjacent corner recesses of the shaft end 3.
  • the clamping sleeve 20 which otherwise has a circular cross-section, has an eccentric cross-section. tion 21 on. If the clamping sleeve 20, which can be rotated in the circumferential direction of the chuck 19, is rotated with its cross-sectional widening 21 over the outer circumferential surface of the arc piece 22, this can retract radially outward, so that the shaft end 3 is unlocked and can be removed from the receptacle of the bushing 23. Otherwise, the locking effect of the arc piece 22 or its dimensions corresponds to the arc piece 9 according to. 1 and 2.
