Claims (29)

  1. Method of severing a running web (10), in particular a paper web, in which the web is wound up successively on a plurality of cores (12, 14), in particular shells, and in each case winding is begun on a new core (12) when a wound reel (16) formed on a previous old core (14) has reached a predetermined diameter,
    the new core (12) being moved between a winding roll (18), in particular a carrier roll, and the old core (14), to which the web (10) is fed over the winding roll (18),
    the running web (10) being severed in the region between a nip (20) which is formed by the winding roll (18) and the new core (12) and the wound reel (16) formed on the old core (14),

  2. Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the cutting device is preferably moved at least substantially at right angles to the running direction B of the web (10) in such a way that an oblique cut line (46) is produced.
