Definitions
- the present invention relates to a foldable sign.
- the invention relates more particularly to a traffic sign road, vertical, mobile and foldable.
- a road sign temporary includes a substrate and a support comprising all of the elements allowing the installation of the sign on site.
- the support serves as a support for the graphic element, the pictogram or the text which translates information.
- the supports must allow good visibility of traffic signs. They must ensure good stability for the whole to withstand bad weather or the passage of vehicles. Moreover, the supports must allow easy handling. Some of these supports consist of foldable feet. The traffic signs of this type used to date either are not stable enough or are handling difficult. Folding and unfolding the feet is generally not easy to execute.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a foldable traffic sign whose implementation place by unfolding the feet and folding are simple and quick, while ensuring good stability.
- the removable traffic sign comprising a panel having two main faces and feet foldable
- two retaining plates are secured with the panel
- the main faces of the plates provided with holes, being parallel to each other and perpendicular to the main faces of the panel
- the ends of two legs, U-shaped, comprising a base and two branches are bent and each positioned in a hole, said legs can be folded, in closed position, against the main faces of the panel or be deployed and kept locked in the open position thanks to blocking means arranged on the holding plates and means release allowing the two feet to be released simultaneously from the means blocking.
- the blocking means are constituted by side edges present on the outside faces of the plates support, behind which the branches of the feet are positioned in stop when the feet are in the open position.
- each unlocking means allows to elastically release the blocking means from the legs of the feet, the ends are positioned in the holes of the same plate of maintenance, these branches being intended to come each against one of the faces main opposites of the panel.
- the unlocking means are consisting of two parallelepiped mobile release plates, each arranged against the outer face of a retaining plate and having holes through which the curved ends of the feet pass, the pivoting of the release plates with respect to their lower sides in pressing on the outside of the retaining plates clears the legs of the feet relative to the locking means.
- the upper side of the plates release includes at least one tab projecting from the plates of holding and allowing to rotate the release plates.
- the branches make an angle greater than 90 ° with the base and have a straight portion in contact with the release plates when feet are folded or extended into position blocked.
- the retaining plates have a lower rim whose lateral sides limit the deployment of feet and whose underside serves as a support surface when the feet are folded.
- the base of the feet is folded so that what the elbows connecting the base to the branches constitute the areas of contact with the ground when the feet are in the extended position.
- the branches of the feet are maintained in the closed position by the locking means.
- the pivoting of the plates with respect to at their upper sides resting on the outer face of the plates support allows to shift the branches of the feet relative to the means of blocking.
- the panel (1) is formed of a flat plate of variable geometric shape.
- the panel is, for example, formed of a triangular metal plate which constitutes the substrate of a panel road sign.
- the panel has two main faces, one side main front (2) and a rear main face (3).
- the main front (2) includes traffic information.
- the lower side of the panel (1), intended for to be parallel to the ground, is called base (4) of the panel.
- Two plates of holding (5, 6) are held integral with the base (4) of the panel, the faces main of the two retaining plates being parallel to each other and perpendicular to the main faces (3, 4) of the panel.
- the faces of the holding plates, facing each other are called inner faces (7), and the other faces are called faces exterior (8).
- Each retaining plate may consist of a plate having the shape of a regular trapezoid, with an upper side or small base (9), one lower side or large base (10) and two lateral or oblique sides (11) connecting the bases (9, 10).
- the plates are kept integral with the base (4) of the panel by their small base (9).
- the base of the panel is positioned, for example, in notches formed on the small base of the plates maintenance.
- the two retaining plates are connected, so fixed, by a central piece (12) parallelepiped.
- the base of the panel can rest on the upper face of the central part and on the small base of the two retaining plates at their notches.
- the center piece (12) has a fixing lug (13).
- One end of the mounting bracket is fixed, by a weld, for example, on a side face of the central part, (12) so that the other end is positioned against the main face rear (3) of the traffic sign (1).
- the panel and plates support can thus be assembled together by this bracket to the means, for example, of screws or rivets.
- the holding plates include means for blocking feet.
- the oblique sides (11) of the retaining plates have, for example, a rim, called a side rim (14).
- the side edges of a retaining plate are oriented in the same direction as the outer faces (8) of said retaining plate.
- the side edges are formed, by example, over the entire length of oblique sides by folding.
- the height from the side rim varies increasing from the small base to the large base.
- the large base (10) also has a rim, called a lower rim (15), oriented in the same direction as the outer face (8) of the plate and perpendicular to it for example.
- This rim (15) has one side longitudinal and two lateral sides (16, 17).
- This lower edge (15) is not formed on the entire large base (10) and does not extend to ends of the large base (10), so that the lateral sides (16, 17) from this lower edge are at a certain distance from the lateral edges (10).
- Each retaining plate has two holes (18). These holes cross the plate right through and are arranged symmetrically by relative to the main plane of symmetry of the trapezoidal plate.
- a movable release plate (19) is arranged against the face outside (8) of each holding plate (5, 6).
- Each plate of release is, for example, trapezoidal.
- the plane of symmetry of release plates (19) is substantially coincident with that of the plates holding (5, 6).
- the dimensions of the release plates (19) are lower than those of the retaining plates.
- the small base (21) of the plates release is parallel to the base (4) of the panel and can be positioned against it.
- the small base (21) has at least one tongue (22) which protrudes from the small base of the retaining plates.
- the small base includes, for example, two release tabs arranged on either side of the panel (1).
- the release plates each have two holes (20) crossing them right through. The holes (20) of the plates release can be positioned opposite the holes (18) of the plates holding.
- the panel has two legs, one leg rear (23) and a front leg (24).
- Each leg is made, for example, of a U-shaped cylindrical metal bar.
- the branches (25, 26) of the leg are inclined and the angle between the arms (25, 26) and the base (27) is less than 90 °, so that the distance between the free ends of the branches is less than the length of the base (27).
- the ends of branches (25, 26) are extended by a portion, called a flat portion (28).
- the flat portions of the legs of a foot are substantially parallel between they.
- the free ends of the flat portions (28) are bent perpendicular to each other, and are called the ends curved (29) branches.
- each curved end (29) of a foot is engaged on a holding plate by a bore (18) thereof, in passing through a hole (20) in the release plate (19).
- the holes of the holding plate and the release plate, used for both curved ends of a foot, are of course aligned.
- the distance between the flat portions is less than that separating the outer faces of the plates unlocking.
- the feet can be held in two positions, one position closed or folded and an open or deployed position.
- the feet In the closed position, such as shown in Figure 4, the feet are substantially vertical and parallel to the traffic sign, the base (27) of the feet being able to be in contact with one of the main faces (2, 3) of the panel.
- the flat portions (28) are in contact with the outer face (19) of the release plates and exert an elastic force on these outer faces.
- the exterior faces release plates are pinched between the flat portions of the branches feet. The frictional forces generated by the elasticity of the branches and the vertical position of the feet is sufficient to keep the feet in closed position.
- Each leg can be extended and brought into position opened by a rotational movement of the foot around the axis passing through the curved ends (29) of the branches of said foot.
- each branch In the unfolded position, such as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the planar portion (28) of each branch is in contact with the holding plates and is positioned between a flange lateral (14) and the lateral side (16) of the lower edge (15) of the large base (10) of the holding plate.
- the flat portions of the branches exert a elastic pressure on the outside faces of the release plates.
- the lateral sides of the lower edge (15) limit the deployment of feet and thus prevent any movement of the feet tending to bring the bases of the feet towards each other.
- the side edges (14) prevent feet to close, the distance between the end of the side ledge and the plane of the outer face of the plate being, of course, greater than the thickness of the release plate.
- the distance between a side edge and a side of the rim of the large base of the holding plate is substantially equal or greater than the diameter of the flat portion of the legs branches.
- the legs branches being blocked by the side edges, the release of feet, to bring the foot back to the closed position, is done by exercising manually pressing on the inside of the tabs (22) of each release plate. This force exerted on the outside of the tongue allows a rotation movement of the plate release, the large base of said plate serving as a pivot for this movement.
- the movement of an unlocking plate, represented by a arrow bearing the reference (32) in FIG. 2 generates a displacement elastic of the branches of the feet, intended to come against the surfaces main opposites of the panel, these moving away from the outer face of the retaining plate, beyond the side edges.
- Each means of release consisting of a release plate in the embodiment, acts on each end branch of each of the two feet (23, 24) intended to be articulated on the same retaining plate (5), respectively (6). Simultaneous actuation on the two release plates thus allows to unlock both feet.
- each unlocking means makes it possible to elastically disengage from the blocking means the legs branches whose ends are positioned in the holes of the same plate maintenance, these branches being intended to come each against one of the faces main opposites of the panel.
- the feet in the unlocked position are represented in figure 3. The feet can thus be brought back into position closed by a rotational movement of the feet relative to the axis passing through the curved ends of the branches of the foot.
- the large base of the plate serving as a pivot for the rotational movement of the release plate, the force exerted on the tabs, necessary to move the branches is unimportant.
- the angles between the plane of symmetry of the plates and the branches of the front foot and the rear foot are substantially identical. Two feet with branches of the same length allow the panel to be held in a stable manner signaling vertically. The angle defined above and the length of the feet are determined to provide a satisfactory balance of the panel on his feet.
- the locking and unlocking system of feet allows you to install and uninstall a panel very easily.
- the feet being in the closed position, as shown in Figure 4, the panel (1) can be placed on the ground.
- the lower edges (15) of the large bases of the plates support then serve as a support surface.
- a first foot, the back foot, for example, is unfolded manually by bringing the flat portions onto the lateral edges of the retaining plates, until the base of this foot rests on the ground.
- the flat portions of the branches are positioned on the lateral edges of the retaining plates.
- the same operation is performed for the front foot, the feet (23, 24) are then in an intermediate position shown in Figure 5.
- the panel is then grabbed by the operator and lifted vertically. This movement is represented by the arrow carrying the reference (30) in FIG. 5.
- each leg can be folded so that the elbows connecting the base to the branches constitute the zones of contact with the ground when the feet are in the extended position.
- This base conformation allows, on the one hand, to stiffen the feet and on the other hand, a better balance of the traffic sign on uneven ground.
- the distance between ends of the base remain greater than that separating the flat portions of the foot, in order to allow the flat portions to exert an elastic pressure on the release plates when the feet are in the open position or closed.
- the locking and unlocking system according to the invention can be adapted on panels of variable geometric shape.
- the two plates of support can be assembled, for example, by a central bar and be fixed by means of a tab on the rear face of a circular panel.
- the release plates described above constitute an example not limiting means for unlocking the feet. Any means of unlocking feet to release the feet from the locking means also part of the invention.
- the height of the lateral edges at proximity of the small bases of the holding plates is greater than the thickness of the release plates.
- the feet can thus be maintained in the folded position, the branches abutting against the side edges.
- the blocking means constituted by the side edges in the present mode of realization, thus make it possible to block at the same time the feet in open position and in the closed position.
- the height of the ledges can be provided to allow manual unfolding of the feet.
- An unlocking system similar to that described above to unlock the feet in the deployed position, can also be provided to unlock the feet in the folded position. Unlocking the feet in the folded position can, for example, be effected by a movement of the release plates, described above, using the small bases as a pivot.
- the release means consisting of the plates unlocking, can thus allow both the simultaneous unlocking of the feet.
