Since the windshields often have considerably different radii of curvature within the pendulum area of the wiper, particularly in newer motor vehicles, the alignment of the wiper blade to the surface of the window, which should be as perpendicular to the window as possible to ensure a towing movement, is not always optimally achievable. It has therefore already been proposed to align the axis of the wiper shaft at a certain angle relative to the surface of the window. A vertical alignment of the wiper blade is thus achieved at least for a central area. However, the alignment of the wiper blade over the entire wiping area remains unsatisfactory.
