Definitions
- the invention relates to a backflow preventer, upstream of which a dirt trap is connected.
- Such backflow preventers are installed, for example, in thermostatic mixer taps at the cold water and hot water inlet in order to prevent the cold water from entering the hot water line and vice versa. Since the control gaps for cold and hot water are often only 1 mm to 2 mm wide, the previously known non-return valves are usually preceded by dirt traps, which are to be manufactured and assembled as separate components.
- Such a sanitary safety unit consisting of a backflow preventer and a dirt trap can only be dimensioned for a specific area of application. Other areas of use, on the other hand, may require differently dimensioned safety devices, which increases the manufacturing and warehousing work considerably.
- the backflow preventer according to the invention is detachably connected to a front strainer, it is ensured, even with repeated assembly, that the safety unit consisting of backflow preventer and strainer strainer is not accidentally released and the installation of the strainer strainer is simply forgotten. Due to the detachable connection, it is also possible at the same time to intentionally loosen the front strainer mounted on the backflow preventer and to replace it with another strainer strainer in order to adapt the sanitary safety unit to the desired area of use.
- a firm and correspondingly secure, but at the same time also easily detachable connection is that the dirt trap is positively connected to the backflow preventer.
- a preferred embodiment according to the invention provides that a latching bead or a latching cam is provided on the inflow-side end face of the backflow preventer, which preferably engages behind the dirt trap in a claw-shaped manner from the outside.
- the dirt trap is detachably interchangeably held on the backflow preventer, in particular depending on a flow regulator or similar throttle upstream or preferably downstream of the backflow preventer.
- a dirt trap with a large filter area can be applied to a normal backflow preventer.
- a flow regulator is connected downstream of the backflow preventer, it can be ensured that even a small screen area does not close as quickly as the dirt trap only has to deal with small amounts of water.
- the detachable form-fitting connection of the dirt trap on the backflow preventer allows the backflow preventer of this sanitary safety unit to be combined with different sieves, which are selected depending on the intended use, the required mesh size, the required active filter area or the desired sieve shape, according to the desired area of application.
- the backflow preventer is selectively releasably connectable to different sieves and if the backflow preventer is preferably releasably connectable to a hat filter and / or a flat filter sieve.
- a further development according to the invention of its own worthy of protection provides that the backflow preventer with the dirt trap and possibly a flow regulator or similar throttle form a sanitary safety unit and that the backflow preventer is in particular releasably connectable on its preferably downstream face to a flow regulator or the like throttle.
- FIG. 1 is a partial longitudinal section of a backflow preventer with a dirt trap, which dirt trap as a detachably connected to the backflow preventer cash, interchangeable front screen is formed, and
- Fig. 2 shows a sanitary safety unit, the safety devices formed from the backflow preventer, strainer screen and flow regulator can be detachably connected to one another, the safety unit being shown in the closed position (left half) and in the open position (right half) of its backflow preventer.
- a backflow preventer 1 is shown in a partial longitudinal section, which is designed here as a check valve.
- the backflow preventer 1 has a housing 2 in which a valve cone 3 is located.
- the valve cone 3 interacts with a valve seat 4 which is molded on the inside into the housing 2.
- the valve cone 3 can be moved from the closed position shown in FIG. 1 to an open position by the water pressure of a water flow flowing in the arrow direction Pfl against the restoring force of a compression spring 5. In the case of a water flow flowing in the direction of the arrow Pfl, the valve cone 3 in the housing 2 is moved against the valve seat 4 and the backflow preventer 1 is closed to avoid undesired backflow.
- the backflow preventer 1 is connected upstream of a dirt strainer 6.
- This dirt strainer 6 is designed as a replaceable attachable screen that can be detachably connected to the backflow preventer 1.
- the strainer 6 Since the strainer 6 is detachably connected to the backflow preventer 1, it is ensured even with repeated assembly that that the existing of the backflow preventer 1 and the strainer 6. The fuse unit is not accidentally released and the reinstallation of the strainer is simply forgotten. Due to the detachable connection, it is also possible, at the same time, to loosen the strainer 6 installed on the backflow preventer 1 intentionally, for example to replace the strainer 6 designed as a hat filter in FIG. 1 with another strainer and thus to sanitary safety unit to the desired application to be able to adapt.
- the detachable connection of the backflow preventer 1 with the strainer 6 allows the backflow preventer 1 to be combined with different sieves which are selected depending on the intended use, the mesh size required, the active filter surface required or, for example, the desired sieve shape.
- the strainer 6 is positively connected to the backflow preventer 1.
- a locking bead 7 is provided on the inflow-side end face of the backflow preventer 1, which the dirt trap 6 engages behind in a claw-shaped manner from the outside.
- the dirt trap sieve 6 has on its end facing the latching bead 7 an annular inwardly directed indentation which forms a latching connection with the latching bead 7.
- the dirt trap screen 6 can be designed as a metal screen, which is held on the check valve 1 via a snap or snap connection. However, it is also possible that a dirt strainer 6 designed as a metal strainer has a plastic edge which carries the corresponding snap or latching means for releasable attachment to the backflow preventer 1. However, the embodiment shown here is preferred, in which the dirt trap screen 6 is made of plastic and is formed as an injection molded part.
- the safety unit which consists at least of the backflow preventer 1 and the dirt trap sieve 6, can be used with or without a downstream flow regulator or similar throttle.
- a sanitary security unit is shown, which is formed from a backflow preventer 10, a strainer 6 and a flow regulator 8.
- the dirt trap screen 6 of this securing unit is also designed as an interchangeable front screen that can be detachably connected to the backflow preventer 10. While the dirt trap 6 is connected upstream of the backflow preventer 10, the flow regulator 8 is detachably connected to the backflow preventer 10 on the downstream end side thereof.
- a circumferential locking cam 9 is provided on the inner circumference of the housing 2 of the backflow preventer 10, which interacts with a locking groove 11 arranged on the outer circumference of the flow rate regulator 8.
- the backflow preventer 10 is connected to the flow regulator 8, it is ensured that even the comparatively small sieve area of the strainer sieve 6 shown in FIG. 2 does not close as quickly, since the sanitary safety unit only has to deal with smaller quantities of water.
- the dirt trap sieve 6 shown in FIG. 2 and designed as a flat sieve can, if necessary, be exchanged for another dirt trap sieve, for example a hat filter, with a large filter area, which makes the downstream flow regulator 8 unnecessary.
- the flow regulator shown in FIG. 2 has a control core 12 which tapers conically in the flow direction and which cooperates with a rubber ring 13 which can be expanded as a function of the water pressure.
- the check valve 10 can also be followed by other restrictors.
- the safety units shown here and consisting of the strainer 6 and at least the non-return valve 1, 10 can be installed in shower heads, shower heads, fittings and other outlet devices. These fittings can also protect sensitive ceramic disks in fittings. In this case, these securing units can be inserted into a form-fitting front recess in an inflow line.
- the backflow preventer 1, 10 shown here are versatile and are characterized by a high level of functional reliability.
