Definitions

  • the invention relates to a backflow preventer, upstream of which a dirt trap is connected.
  • Such backflow preventers are installed, for example, in thermostatic mixer taps at the cold water and hot water inlet in order to prevent the cold water from entering the hot water line and vice versa. Since the control gaps for cold and hot water are often only 1 mm to 2 mm wide, the previously known non-return valves are usually preceded by dirt traps, which are to be manufactured and assembled as separate components.
  • Such a sanitary safety unit consisting of a backflow preventer and a dirt trap can only be dimensioned for a specific area of application. Other areas of use, on the other hand, may require differently dimensioned safety devices, which increases the manufacturing and warehousing work considerably.
  • the backflow preventer according to the invention is detachably connected to a front strainer, it is ensured, even with repeated assembly, that the safety unit consisting of backflow preventer and strainer strainer is not accidentally released and the installation of the strainer strainer is simply forgotten. Due to the detachable connection, it is also possible at the same time to intentionally loosen the front strainer mounted on the backflow preventer and to replace it with another strainer strainer in order to adapt the sanitary safety unit to the desired area of use.

  • the detachable form-fitting connection of the dirt trap on the backflow preventer allows the backflow preventer of this sanitary safety unit to be combined with different sieves, which are selected depending on the intended use, the required mesh size, the required active filter area or the desired sieve shape, according to the desired area of application.

Due to the detachable connection, it is also possible, at the same time, to loosen the strainer 6 installed on the backflow preventer 1 intentionally, for example to replace the strainer 6 designed as a hat filter in FIG. 1 with another strainer and thus to sanitary safety unit to the desired application to be able to adapt.

However, it is also possible that a dirt strainer 6 designed as a metal strainer has a plastic edge which carries the corresponding snap or latching means for releasable attachment to the backflow preventer 1. However, the embodiment shown here is preferred, in which the dirt trap screen 6 is made of plastic and is formed as an injection molded part.

These fittings can also protect sensitive ceramic disks in fittings. In this case, these securing units can be inserted into a form-fitting front recess in an inflow line.
  • the backflow preventer 1, 10 shown here are versatile and are characterized by a high level of functional reliability.
