Description

NAVIRE PORTE-CONTENEURS AUTONOME AUTONOMOUS CONTAINER SHIP
The invention relates to an autonomous container ship making it possible to transport containers from large ports equipped with loading and unloading means to small ports without such equipment.
More particularly, the invention relates to a range of small and medium-sized vessels making it possible to transport goods from small ports to small ports by means of containers. This range is made up of ships allowing to transport a maximum number of containers equal to two, four, ten, twenty, thirty, fifty, one hundred.
A main characteristic of the ship is its full autonomy, offering the possibility of loading or / and unloading containers in a port not equipped with handling means and having a shallow water depth, less than 4 meters.
The transport of goods constitutes, in fact, one of the major cogs of our market economy. The globalization of international trade, the development of "just-in-time" policies, the ever-increasing demand for responsiveness, tend to constantly increase land transport, to develop costly and environmentally damaging road infrastructure.
The range of ships according to the invention was born from this analysis with the aim of developing a complementarity between road transport and maritime-river transport.
It is a question of ensuring, starting from the ports of first or second row, maritime connections to serve the multitude of irrigation ports, little or not exploited as regards transport of goods.
The aim is for road carriers to take charge of containers from these ports for local distribution, in order to optimize land delivery distances. One of the objectives of the present invention is to provide the road transporter with a mobile infrastructure "maritime-river highway" complementary to that which it has on the road network. A second objective is to strengthen the responsiveness of maritime-road transport by transporting small quantities with high frequencies.
A third objective is to provide a sea-river service with considerable maneuvering autonomy, an optimized quay to quay journey and unloading / loading systems adapted to these constraints. This objective implies being able to transport a large payload in relation to the movement of the ship.
A fourth objective is to provide transport under conditions of service and cost per kilometer comparable to those of the road.
There are many container ships with a large container carrying capacity and with a high draft, such as those described in Jane's Intermodal Transportation, pages 315,338 and 341. Among these container ships of large capacity, we can cite the ALIA CA BRASIL, with a capacity of 2200 containers, a speed of 20.4 knots, a length of 200.23 m and a draft of 12, One of the smallest of these container ships is the HERA, with a capacity of 198 containers, a speed of 12.5 knots, a length of 88 m and a draft of 4.6 m.
These container ships generally unload in port terminals equipped with significant handling facilities. The ports that can accommodate existing container ships are few and do not allow delivery of goods close to their place of use.
In order to meet the objectives defined above, the subject of the invention is an autonomous container ship, of the type comprising a hull, propulsion means, loading and unloading means, balancing means, characterized in what he understands means making it possible to transport containers from major ports equipped with means of loading and unloading containers to small ports without such equipment and having a water depth of less than 4 meters, these means including propulsion means ensuring both the cruising speed of the ship on the high seas and the speed in estuaries and ports, means of loading and unloading adapted to ports without equipment, means of balancing the ship at sea serving for stability and the trim of the vessel during handling.
The propulsion means can be actuated by diesel engine, by electric motor or by discoid motor. Container handling can be carried out using a crane, gantry crane, forklift or container trolley.
The balancing means of the ship can be constituted by a controlled ballast system by means of pumps which ensures the displacement of water in the ballast ballast ship to compensate for the list or the trim.
The balancing means can be constituted by a system of inflatable buoys; these inflatable buoys can be integrated on the side of the ship to increase inertia flotation and thus limit the heel and trim of the ship during handling operations.
The balancing means can also be constituted by a solid mass transfer system. A solid mass moves in the ship to compensate for the displacement of the mass of the containers during handling operations.
A combination of these different characteristics provides an architectural principle for the range of ships.
In addition, the ship must be able to be built at a cost allowing investors an alternative to road transport.
To do this, technological solutions leading to economically viable solutions must have the following characteristics.
The ship must be able to carry a large payload in relation to its displacement.
The equipment must be as versatile as possible, which implies a common energy for propulsion and handling, means of handling serving both on the ship and ashore, means of propulsion ensuring both the cruising speed of the ship, speed in estuaries and ports and maneuverability in ports, means of balancing the ship at sea used to balance the ship during handling operations.
