Claims (13)
- Lamp socket (10), particularly for receiving heavy illuminants, with a socket body (11) made of porcelain, with a socket thread (16) disposed in an inner face (15) of a wall (13) of the socket body and a threaded ring (14) screwed into the said socket thread for receiving a lamp base, with a central contact (17) and with a lateral contact (20) fastened to the bottom (12) of the socket body, characterised in that that lateral contact (20) of the lamp socket (10) which is deflected by the threaded ring (14) against the inner face (15) is prolonged towards the said threaded ring (14) and that the said lateral contact (20) is constructed as an essentially L-shaped strip, the long leg of the L being held in a groove (48) which is disposed so as to extend from the inner face (15) of the socket body (11), and extending essentially in the longitudinal direction of the socket, and the said long leg of the L making contact, via an end section (22), with the outside (23) of the threaded ring (14) under spring tension.
- Lamp socket according to claim 1, characterised in that the long leg of the L of the lateral contact (20) has a first section which rests tightly against the bottom of the groove (48) in the socket (10), and a second section which is disposed at a distance from the bottom of the said groove (48).
- Lamp socket according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the end section (22) of the lateral contact (20) is bent away outwards, constructing a slip-off slope (30) for the threaded ring (14).
- Lamp socket according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that there is disposed on the lateral contact (20) a pressure spring (25) which loads the said lateral contact against the threaded ring (14).
- Lamp socket according to claim 4, characterised in that the pressure spring (25) is disposed between that section of the lateral contact (20) which is at a distance from the inner face (15) of the socket body (11), and the bottom of the groove (48) in the socket (10).
- Lamp socket according to claim 5, characterised in that the pressure spring (25) is constructed as an essentially V-shaped strip and is supported, via its apex region (26), against the bottom of the groove (48) in the socket body (11), is fastened, at one end (27), to the lateral contact (20) and, with its other end (29), loads the lateral contact (20) against the threaded ring (14).
- Lamp socket according to claim 2, characterised in that connections, which are constructed as screw-less connecting terminals (36), are provided on the short leg of the L of the lateral contact (20) for the electrical lines.
- Lamp socket according to one of claims 4 to 7, characterised in that the pressure spring (25) is prolonged towards the bottom (12) of the socket body, rests tightly against the lateral contact (20) and, together with the latter, constructs the screw-less connecting terminal (36).
- Lamp socket according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that there is also disposed on the central contact (17) a spring member (37) which constructs, together with a fastening section on the central contact (17), a screw-less connecting terminal (36).
- Lamp socket according to claim 9, characterised in that the spring member (37) is prolonged to a point beneath the contact-making region (38) of the central contact (17) and loads the latter against the illuminant.
- Lamp socket according to one of claims 4 to 6 and also 9 or 10, characterised in that the lateral contact (20) and the central contact (17) consist of a material having good electrical conductivity such as copper, and the pressure spring (25) and spring member (37) consist of a heat-resistant material such as a chrome nickel alloy.
- Lamp socket according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the threaded ring (14) has, on its side that points away from the bottom (12) of the socket body, an annular end face (31) on which driving cams (32) for the engagement of a tool for screwing the threaded ring (14) into the socket body (11) are provided, which driving cams offer the said tool engagement faces (33) which are essentially perpendicular to the annular end face (31) in the screwing-in direction.
- Lamp socket according to claim 12, characterised in that the driving cams (32) are formed by gable-like portions stamped out of the annular end face (31).
