Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an application set which can be used especially in the fields of pharmacy, cosmetics, dermatology, hair care, etc.
  • the invention further relates particular a device of the type comprising a solid or semi-solid applicator which must be brought into contact with a liquid composition before application and able to dissolve or gel on the surface in contact with a liquid composition.
  • a liquid composition for example, it may be a weakly crumblable lipstick grape and whose surface must be brought into contact, with water for example, in order to soften on the surface and thus promote the disintegration of the lipstick.
  • the applicator can be of the "alum stone” type used for the cauterization of wounds. In the latter application, the applicator contains water-soluble active substances such as aluminum sulfates and of mixed ammonium which dissolve in the presence of a liquid composition such only water.
  • the invention also applies to the application of a product which may have a cosmetic effect and a treating effect, the cosmetic effect being produced by the applicator itself, the treating effect being obtained by a liquid solution at contact from which the applicator is put.
  • a product which may have a cosmetic effect and a treating effect
  • the cosmetic effect being produced by the applicator itself
  • the treating effect being obtained by a liquid solution at contact from which the applicator is put.
  • it is a grape from lipstick which is brought into contact with a film-forming agent or a composition treatment, such as anti-chapping composition.
  • a soap ammonium or potassium stearate or a tensor stick, for example polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) capable of erasing wrinkles, or guar gum.
  • PVA polyvinyl alcohol
  • he can still be a compound, such as an emollient, which cannot be introduced into the grape during its production.
  • the invention is aimed at any solid or semi-solid applicator, disintegrable, and which, before application to a surface to be treated, must be brought into contact a liquid composition, allowing its disintegration, and / or containing active agents which cannot be inserted into the applicator.
  • European patent 612 488 describes an applicator comprising a reservoir containing a product to be applied, a cap intended to close the tank and a applicator holder supporting a deformable element for applying the product, foam or low hardness elastomer.
  • the deformable element carries on the surface roughness and has a large shape memory.
  • the product tank is limited by a capillary tip in the shape of a glove finger having a bottom provided a seat pierced with at least one capillary orifice against which the deformable element is applied and deformed in the closed position of the tank by the cap.
  • liquid formulas containing polymers which have the advantage of long-lasting properties lips, but which are in a galenic form distant from the institutional gesture of the conventional stick.
  • an application set comprising: a first compartment intended to form a housing for a applicator containing a product capable of dissolving or gelling on the surface at contact of a liquid composition, and removably mounted in said first compartment through a first opening; a second compartment, isolated from the first compartment, and comprising a member, soaked with said liquid composition, and capable of restoring an amount of said composition liquid on the applicator when the latter is introduced into the second compartment through a second opening, and supported on a restitution surface of said member, said member forming a buffer so as to prevent any flow of liquid composition through said second opening, removable closing means being provided for closing said first and second openings respectively.
  • the organ contained in the second compartment therefore acts as a "sequestrant" which retains the liquid so that it cannot flow by gravity through the second opening, but which restores it on the applicator when the latter is pressed on the organ.
  • the soaked organ may consist of a block of open cell foam or semi-open, of a wicking member, of the felt type, of a frit, of a low hardness elastomer with open or semi-open cells, or of a combination of such elements.
  • low hardness elastomer is meant a elastomer whose hardness is between 15 shore A and 70 shore A.
  • the restitution surface of said member is covered with a coating of flocking, or of a perforated film of thermoplastic elastomer, of plastic, or a layer of felt, or a textile. This last feature allows, among other things, to adjust the amount of liquid transferred to the applicator, by substantially modifying the restitution capacity of the element soaked towards the applicator, and / or to modify the abrasiveness of the surface of restitution.
  • the liquid composition can be dosed so as to be contained substantially in its entirety inside said organ. This provision limits the risks untimely flow of the product while ensuring sufficient autonomy for the device.
  • the said member has a first end at the vicinity of said second opening, and a second end, opposite the first, said member having at least at its first end, a section cross section substantially identical to the cross section of the second compartment.
  • This arrangement isolates the opening of the liquid which can be in the bottom of the tank. Furthermore, in the case where the soaked organ is a elastically deformable member, this is guided axially in the compartment when the applicator is supported on its upper surface.
  • the pressing the applicator on such an elastically deformable member, open or semi-open cells, followed by withdrawal of the applicator, causes first the compression, at least partial, of the open or semi cells open and then decompress the cells, which causes the pumping of the liquid to the restitution surface of the soaked organ.
  • the second end of the member containing the liquid composition can be substantially in contact with the bottom.
  • the second compartment defines an annular space all around said member, said annular space defining a volume capable of containing a reserve of said liquid composition, for supplying said organ, said organ being capable of pumping said liquid composition from said reserve.
  • the second end is located in an intermediate position fixed, between the bottom and the second opening, so as to define a volume between the bottom and said second end, capable of containing a reserve of said liquid composition, for supplying said organ, said organ being capable of pumping said liquid composition from said reserve.
  • Contact with the liquid contained in the reserve with the organ is made in particular by total reversal or partial of the application set. This happens naturally, especially when transporting such packaging in the user's handbag.
  • the applicator may be an alum stone, a lipstick grape, background complexion, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), guar gum, corn starch, or a skin treatment product.
  • PVA polyvinyl alcohol
  • the liquid composition may contain water or any other solvent, and / or preservatives, and / or film-forming elements, and / or emollients and / or active compounds.
  • the application assembly according to the invention may include means for allow the removable mounting of the second compartment relative to the first. Such a characteristic possibly allows the separate marketing of the applicator stick and of the container containing the liquid composition. She permits also to be able to use the same stick in combination with several liquid compositions, according to the needs of the user.
  • the two compartments are arranged head to tail, and aligned along the same axis and arranged so that said first and second openings are located opposite each other. This arrangement reduces the bulk, and allows the realization of a set of shape close to that of conventional sticks.
  • the second compartment may have an auxiliary opening for mounting the organ soaked inside the second compartment, or replace it after exhaustion of the liquid composition it contains.
  • This auxiliary opening can also be used to add liquid to the second compartment, removable means being provided for sealingly sealing said opening auxiliary.
  • the applicator is preferably carried by a gripping element, said element gripping device ensuring the tight sealing of said first opening.
  • the gripping element comprises a frustoconical portion able to cooperate with a complementary profile of said first opening. This sealing may be desirable for some formulas. However, for other formulas, we make sure that the applicator is not content with watertight inside the first compartment, to allow the evaporation of certain species, and to allow, if necessary a drying of the formula.
  • An over-cap can optionally be disposed of removable on the whole.
  • the gripping element advantageously has means for limiting the introduction of the applicator into the second compartment.
  • a shoulder can be produced at the level of the gripping element. This characteristic makes it possible to limit the support that can be exerted on the block of foam. Too much support could indeed be detrimental to both the applicator and to the organ soaked in liquid composition.
  • the race of the applicator, the position of the foam block, and its height, must however be chosen appropriately so that the applicator can be rested on the block of foam, regardless of the degree of use of the applicator.
  • the applicator is preferably placed in a cup carried by said member gripping, said applicator being formed by molding or extrusion.
  • the second opening is sealed off by means of a lip or a frustoconical element carried by a removable cap, and able to cooperate with a complementary profile of said second opening.
  • the removable cap can be designed so that only the second opening is closed.
  • it forms a single piece with the over-cap placed on the applicator opposite the first compartment.
  • a sealing element of the annular part type made of material elastomeric, can be arranged inside said second opening, so as to perfect the seal of the closure of the second compartment.
  • said sealing element is arranged so as to limit the axial movement of the soaked organ, so as to prevent the exit of said member through said second opening.
  • Said applicator can be of any section.
  • the applicator is of circular, triangular, square, oval, elliptical, etc. cross section.
  • internal section of the second compartment is adapted to the shape of the applicator.

  • the body of the housing defines two compartments 4 and 5 isolated from each other.
  • the first compartment is intended to contain an applicator 6 (represented in the form of a grapes, for example lipstick) mounted inside a cup 7 carried by an element 8, the upper part of which forms a gripping member 9.
  • an applicator comprises a product packaged in the form of a solid or semi-solid stick.
  • the product is able to dissolve or gel in surface in contact with an appropriate liquid composition, with a view to its disintegration on the skin for example.
  • it is a non-disintegrating or very not very crumbly when dry, but becomes so when it is brought into contact of a liquid composition.
  • the product does not absorb or pump not the liquid deep down, so that solubilization or gelation only produce on the surface.
  • a stick can be obtained by molding or extrusion, and is held in the cup by gluing, or using striations formed on the internal surface of the cup.

  • the foam block is according to this embodiment, in the uncompressed (or weakly compressed) position, of height substantially identical to the height of the compartment.
  • a first end 15 is in contact with the bottom 17.
  • the other end is located substantially in the vicinity of the opening 18, in abutment against an annular member 19 disposed inside the opening 18.
  • the annular member 19 is made of elastomeric material and further forms a seal ensuring the seal of the compartment 5 closure.
  • the compartment closure is produced by a part 20 carried by an element 21 integral with the cover 3.
  • the part 20 is of frustoconical shape, and is able to cooperate with a profile frustoconical 22 formed inside the opening 18. This arrangement contributes to improve the tightness of the closure of compartment 5.
  • the cover 3 carries on the one hand the means allowing to close the opening 18 of compartment 5, and on the other hand, is of dimension sufficient to cover the entire housing 2, thus forming an over-cap above the applicator 6.
  • Means of groove / groove type keep the cover 3 in the closed position on the housing.
  • the foam block 14 is soaked with a liquid composition such as water or any other solvent, and / or preservatives, and / or film-forming elements, and / or emollients and / or active compounds.

  • the volume of liquid is chosen so as to be contained in its entirety in the foam block.
  • compartment 5 has at near the bottom 17 a portion of larger diameter 23 than the diameter of the foam block. This arrangement allows to realize in the vicinity of the bottom a reserve of liquid composition, which will be pumped over the uses by the block of foam 14. This larger diameter portion near the bottom allows also to facilitate the removal and / or insertion of the foam block 14, during the initial editing, or after all of its contents have been exhausted, when replacement.
