Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for protecting the hooves from horses, against wear and shock, while preserving and improving grip on all types of terrain.
  • the pliers Conventional irons sometimes have a raised part forming a stop, called the pliers. Regardless of their usefulness, the pliers have an effect very traumatic for the inside of the foot and can be the cause of injuries or injuries. Irons without pliers require the use of a greater number of nails, because these are then only those nails that hold the iron laterally. The pressure from nails, which pass near the living flesh, compress the foot of the horse while by enlarging the holes by force. The fitting therefore risks loosening.
  • irons in plastic or synthetic materials. If they are efficient for absorbing shock waves on hard ground, they have the disadvantage of being very slippery on soft ground and wet. This is due to the rounded wear of the edges of the iron, which forms a obtuse angle favoring skidding. On the other hand, the absence of clamp on this type of irons makes it the nails that withstand all pressures, and all the more so, since the plastic is very slippery under the horn. The heel support of these "irons” is sometimes traumatic for the fork of the animal because designed only to hold the heels sets.
  • the reinforcing element is consisting of a metallic cable wound on itself to form partially overlapping convolutions.
  • the retaining strip as well obtained is housed inside the elastic cushion.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a device for protecting the hoof of horses preserving the comfort of the animal and the safety of the couple horse rider on all types of terrain encountered in horse riding Outdoor.
  • a protection device according to the invention has a certain number benefits.
  • This tape can for example but not necessarily, be of steel, of varying degree of hardness in depending on the intended use.
  • the horse's foot When braking, the horse's foot must not block or slip, due to risk of sprains or slips.
  • the combination of the shock absorbing sole and metal strip provides a perfect compromise to fill this condition on hard ground. On flexible and slippery ground, it is the metal band which fulfills this role. Excluding irons, it is the outer horn and the acute angle formed with the sole which ensures braking: the shoe attacks this type of soil to get there sink in and hang on. The present invention restores this same principle and the horse is not diverted.
  • the device according to the invention also includes a fork support, designed according to the anatomy of the foot, which ensures vascularity of the foot by compression of the plantar pad.
  • the resistance of the assembly to lateral pressures is ensured by flexible, non-traumatic forceps adaptable to each shape of foot.
  • the device according to the present invention finally comprises a recess on its sole, arranged to prevent the formation of blocks between the sole and the irons, in case of riding in snowy weather.
  • the protection device consists respectively of a flexible shock absorbing sole (1), of a metal strip (2) initially right, embedded in the mass of the shock absorbing sole (1).
  • This metal strip (2) cooperates with six supports (8), coming in contact with the sole (1) and directed towards the outside of the curve in placing in six recesses (36) made in correspondence on said sole.
  • These supports (8) each have an opening (14), opposite corresponding openings (5) in the sole (1), allowing fixing of the assembly by traditional nailing under the hoof, in order: hoof, sole assembly (1) - metal strip (2).
  • the openings (5) on the sole (1) and (14) on the supports (8), corresponding to each other, are wide enough to allow, through the assembly, sole (1) - metal strip (2), a vision of the white line below the hoof for precise nailing.
  • the fork support (7) is connected to the two branches of the heels of the shock absorbing sole (1) by two V-shaped tabs (9).
  • This support (7) is not in contact with the ground, so that when the fork (19) on the support (7), going down, it causes the spacing of the two branches of the heel of the sole (1), by through the two tabs (9). and thus restores the opening game hoof heels (24), by the heels of the sole (1), avoiding by consequently the wear on the heels of the hoof (26), which could cause a poor balance of the foot over the maximum two months of shoeing (25-26).
  • the lateral clamps are in the form of tabs flexible (4), notched along their length and below (10). We can use up to eight clamps per foot, but in practice, four are more than enough.
  • the tongs are inserted between the shoe and the sole (1) in housings (6) arranged on top of said sole.
  • the tongues (4) are slid from the outside towards the inside, to come into abutment against the shoe by their ends (40), in one direction and are blocked in the other sense, by the orientation of the notches (6 and 10) thus making the sole assembly - steel band resistant to lateral pressures exerted on the shoe.
  • the installation of the device according to the invention is easy and no longer requires the use of the forge.
  • the present invention breaks down into five sizes including the previous ones (more rounded shape) and posteriors, (more elongated shape). So there are for five sizes, ten different shapes.
  • the protection device reproduces the role of the outer hard horn of the foot - the wall - (18), by replacing by the metal strip (2), thus guaranteeing good grip on skidding and braking on all types of terrain.
  • the sole (1) also comprises a central recess consisting of a clearance angle greater than 90 ° intended to prevent the formation of snowballs under the hoof.
  • the device according to the invention is particularly intended for protection hooves for trekking, harness, endurance and eventing, while ensuring resistance to wear, good braking and grip resistance on all types of terrain, comfort foot of the horse by providing fork support and restoring play heel to prevent the foot from tipping over the heels. It provides a comfortable holding of the assembly on the hoof at lateral pressures, by through flexible tongues (4), arranged between shoe and sole, filling without presenting the disadvantages, the role played by the clamps classics.
