Claims (4)

  1. Fittings for the opening panel of a door or window, which comprise a monodirectional espagnolette and an espagnolette casing (1) designed to be accommodated in a slot in the opening panel, said casing (1) including a tumbler (14) which is driven in rotation through an angle of 90° by a handle, a support member (15) supporting two studs (8) which are respectively fixed to two rods (9) of said espagnolette, and a rack (16) which cooperates with teeth (17) disposed on a circular peripheral portion (14a) of the tumbler (14) over a circular arc of 90°, characterized in that the largest diameter of the tumbler (14) is substantially equal to the internal width of the casing (1) between a first side wall (1a) and a second side wall (1b), and in that said casing (1) has an aperture (18) formed in the first longitudinal side wall (1a), a second circular peripheral portion (14b) of the tumbler (14) having a radius which is substantially equal to the distance separating the axis (Y-Y) of the tumbler (14) from said side wall (1a) of the casing (1) and being designed to move so as to rotate in said aperture (18); the base of the support member (15) extending substantially parallel to the second side wall (1b) of the casing (1) and having an offset portion (19) which supports said rack (16) and extends into a groove (20) formed on an inner face of said side wall (1b) of the casing (1), said groove (20) having a length in longitudinal direction of the casing (X-X) which is at least equal to the course of the support member (15).
  2. Fittings according to Claim 1, characterized in that the support member (15) essentially has the shape of a U on a plane which is parallel to an outer face (2) of the casing (1), the sides of the support member (15) supporting the studs (8) and the base of the support member (15) supporting said rack (16), the tumbler (14) being accommodated between the sides of the support member (15).
  3. Fittings according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the tumbler (14) has two elements forming fingers (23) which are disposed at 90° along a circular arc centred on the axis of rotation (Y-Y) of the tumbler (14); in that the casing (1) also includes an elastic strip (21) which is fixed at its ends to a face (2) of the casing (1) and has a notch (24) which is complementary in shape to the elements forming fingers (23), the distance separating said notch (24) from the centre of rotation of the tumbler (14) being substantially less than the distance separating the elements forming fingers (23) from the centre of rotation of the tumbler (14).
  4. Fittings according to Claim 3, characterized in that the elastic strip (21) extends in a direction which is substantially parallel to the direction (X-X) of translation of the rack (16) of the support member (15), the notch (24) in the elastic strip (21) being aligned with the centre of rotation of the tumbler (14) and a meshing point of the teeth (17) of the tumbler (14) in the rack (16).
