Definitions
- the invention relates to a doctor blade, in particular for screen printing, consisting of a soft elastic part with at least a squeegee edge acting on a printing medium and a hard elastic part that can be positioned on a squeegee holder is.
- Screen printing process using a generic doctor blade can be carried out such that a printing screen above arranged on a print carrier and on its top with a printing agent is provided.
- a printing screen above arranged on a print carrier and on its top with a printing agent is provided.
- By pressurization of the printing screen with the squeegee edge is against the printing screen brought the printing medium to the system and the printing medium while moving the squeegee against while pressing applied the printing screen through its mesh on the printing medium. Moving the squeegee makes it flat Print image generated.
- the Squeegee arranged as a fixed and the printing screen, for. B. as cylindrical rotary screen, opposite the squeegee be movable.
- Essential for making a uniform and always reproducible print image is a temporally and locally constant shape of the pressurized on the printing screen adjacent squeegee edge.
- Squeegees produced are very expensive manufacture or the doctor blade edges are for exact shaping elaborate to rework after their manufacture.
- both the quality of the printed image and for example the pressure medium consumption from the geometry of the squeegee edge in the area adjacent to the printing screen and from that adjusting angle of attack of the squeegee against the printing screen influenced in the area of the doctor edge. Because of the diverse Influencing factors in the printing process, however, it is difficult a spatially and temporally uniform shape of the squeegee edge ensure.
- the soft elastic squeegee material is subject to absorption of solvents of the printing medium aging processes cause a change in elasticity and to detach Can lead particles in the area of the doctor edge. To achieve a uniform squeegee edge is then under high Expand time and effort and rework the squeegee edge, thus long service life of the screen printing machine are caused. There are therefore soft elastic doctor blade materials used against the solvent of the printing medium are largely chemically inert.
- the squeegee edge is applied by exerting pressure on the hard elastic Part of the squeegee placed against the printing screen.
- the previously known plastic doctor blades that are used in casting or Centrifugal processes meet these requirements insufficient because they have inhomogeneities, the spatially different elastic properties of the Squeegee condition and which result in an uneven print image express.
- a generic doctor blade is used, for example, in the DE 88 05 911 U described in which the against the pressure screen Applicable squeegee strips on the back with a support layer is made of a plastic material that is harder than the material of the squeegee strip.
- the connection the doctor strip with the support layer is expedient in that the harder and the softer Layer brought together in a still reactive state and bonded to one another by means of a chemical reaction are.
- the support layer and doctor strip preferably exist made of a polyurethane elastomer.
- DE 84 20 447 U is also a generic doctor blade remove, in the example of rubber or a squeegee profile manufactured in a thermoplastic Doctor blade holder made of a stable material such as metal is.
- the squeegee profile is a laterally to this supportive support profile made of a hard elastic Supported material that extends over its entire length.
- JP abstract 2-206552 (A) is also a generic one Squeegee can be removed by injection molding by injection different materials is produced in a hollow mold.
- a high Homogeneity and reproducibility of the squeegee is due to this Way not to achieve.
- AT-PS 354 968 is a magnetic doctor device known, the one arranged in front of the doctor blade roll has, which facing the doctor blade roller Side a pad made of elastic, slippery material has, so that the doctor roller on the back of the profile bar is pressed and with this in for the order mass sealing contact can be brought.
- a Doctor device can also be used in front of small diameter doctor rollers a large amount of order mass is kept, without overflowing the application mass when the machine is at a standstill is to be feared and also a reduction in Contact forces without reducing the viscosity of the application mass or the working speed is permissible. The above This does not solve the problem.
- the soft elastic part and the hard elastic part are part of the squeegee for the first time in one Homogeneity can be produced using the previously used Pouring or spinning process has not been achieved.
- the soft-elastic part of the doctor blade is also accurate in shape producible without complex mechanical processing through grinding or lapping processes would be necessary. Because of which is reproducible and also between different ones Batches only slight fluctuations in material properties is a significant step towards standardization given by screen printing processes of the type mentioned above, since there is no need for major adjustments when changing the doctor blade.
- the soft elastic part of the squeegee consists of a thermoplastic Polyurethane elastomer and the hard elastic part the squeegee made of polyolefin, so are the respective parts of the squeegee in a co-extrusion process, particularly homogeneous and a perfect fit producible and meet the in a screen printing process requirements with regard to chemical resistance in particular. Doing so will be particularly satisfactory and get reproducible print results when the soft elastic part of the doctor blade has a hardness of 75 to 95 Shore A and the hard elastic part of the squeegee have a hardness of 60 to 90 Shore D.
- the hard elastic material can filled, e.g. B. fiber reinforced.
- the hard elastic part is between the its lower end arranged soft elastic part and the positionable at its upper end on the squeegee holder hard elastic part is essentially strip-shaped.
- the doctor-extending area of the hard elastic part in axial extension of the strip-shaped region is a mechanically particularly stable embodiment a squeegee created, with a favorable pressure transfer is given on the squeegee edge.
- the hard elastic part is advantageously transverse to itself provided to the longitudinal direction of the squeegee webs on the side facing the doctor holder the soft elastic Partially completely enclose, with the webs an angled part, at least the soft elastic side partially surrounding area.
- the hard elastic part advantageously closes on the outside flush with the soft elastic Part from, which ensures a tight fit and a detachment of the soft elastic part from the hard elastic Part is made more difficult.
- the doctor blade can be provided with a plurality of doctor blade edges which have different profiles.
- the squeegee is essentially mirror-symmetrical to it Running the longitudinal plane, the squeegee is easy to handle and the squeegee edge that can be placed against the printing screen without high assembly costs interchangeable with another squeegee edge.
- the soft-elastic part can also be the hard-elastic part Part surrounded at least over part of its height on the outside, whereby the elastic properties of the soft elastic Part holding strip-shaped area changed and can be adapted to different printing conditions.
- the soft elastic part can stretch up to the top of the strip-shaped area towards that on the squeegee holder can be arranged.
- the strip-shaped area further soft elastic parts be arranged, each with one or more doctor edges are provided.
- the strip-shaped Area arranged on the first narrow side of the same soft elastic part opposite another soft elastic Be arranged part this advantageously is designed so that it can be picked up by the squeegee holder is.
- Squeegees of the type described above have regard to their Homogeneity and long-term stability even under high mechanical Loads significant advantages over previously known Squeegee on.
- the plastic doctor blade according to the invention can be used in a coextrusion process be manufactured in such a way that first the hard elastic Part of the doctor blade is extruded that after a cooling period, in which the hard elastic part has sufficient mechanical Resilience has, the soft elastic part of the Squeegee extruded with the hard elastic part to bring it into contact becomes.
- this also means high dimensional accuracy of the parts and profiling the parts in the process steps following the extrusion process enables.
- the hard elastic part of the squeegee one protruding laterally over the soft elastic part Extruded area, with subsequent extrusion of the soft elastic part of the squeegee laterally protruding, still plastically deformable area of the hard elastic part with permanent deformation with the soft elastic part is brought to the plant.
- the side protruding area of the hard elastic part can also laterally be pressed into the flexible part until that it is flush with the soft elastic on the outside of the squeegee Part completes.
- the soft elastic Part compressed and so a tight fit between the parts reached.
- Such a procedure is special therefore advantageous because the soft elastic and the hard elastic Part of the squeegee due to the different materials strongly differing coefficients of thermal expansion exhibit. Detachment of the parts from one another due to the higher contraction of the soft elastic parts counteracted when cooling.
- a squeegee according to the invention is exemplary in the drawing illustrated and in detail below using the Drawing described.
- a doctor blade is shown in cross section, which is a soft elastic, provided with two squeegee edges Part 1 and a hard elastic holding this under positive locking Part 2 has.
- the soft elastic part 1 has an essentially pentagonal Cross-section, with three of the outer boundary surfaces are arranged perpendicular to each other and essentially have the same edge lengths.
- the base 3 of the soft elastic Part 1 is laterally of two over the entire Squeegee length extending knife edges 4 and 5 limited a defined and constant over the entire length of the squeegee Have shape.
- the knife edges are evenly curved and have a radius from 0.2 to 0.4 mm.
- the squeegee edges can of course another shape, for example an uneven shape curved or angular shape.
- the hard elastic part carrying the soft elastic part 1 2 the squeegee has a head-shaped widened at its upper end Holding area 6, which can be attached to a squeegee holder is.
- the holding area 6 can with a corresponding design the squeegee holder as a soft elastic part run or be provided with such, so that at corresponding arrangement of the squeegee in its holder each one of the soft elastic parts of the squeegee with the printing screen can be brought to the plant.
- the squeegee edges can have different shapes.
- the holding area 6 has a lengthwise direction of the doctor blade extending cavity 7, which is an at least slight Deformation of the holding area allows and due to the reduced Wall thickness a homogeneous production of the holding area enables and the occurrence of material inhomogeneities in Cooling prevented.
- the holding area 6 goes into a strip-shaped area 8 over that reduced one compared to the holding area 6 Has cross section, which is dimensioned so that given Material properties sufficient bending stiffness is given to a corresponding power transmission to the to allow soft elastic part 1 of the squeegee.
- the webs 11 have an angled region 12 on the the lateral boundary surfaces of the soft elastic Enclose part 1 at its upper end. The angled Areas of the webs 11 close on their outside flush with the soft elastic part 1, so that the Narrow sides of the angled areas 12 from the soft elastic Part 1 are enclosed, creating a close form fit the hard elastic part 2 with the soft elastic part 1 is guaranteed.
- the holding lugs of the hook 10 point to the ends of the webs 11, so that the lateral boundary surfaces of the retaining lugs the doctor edges 4 and 5 are facing. This will in upper area of the flexible part 1 between the Web 11 and one holding nose of the hook 10 an area the soft elastic part 1 almost completely enclosed, which also due to the shrinkage of the soft elastic Partly in the cooling step after the extrusion a very tight form fit is achieved. On the other hand there is the area adjacent to the squeegee edges 4 and 5 Doctor blade made of soft elastic material, so that under deformation the contact area of the squeegee on the printing screen during the Printing process a favorable geometry is created.
- the doctor blade according to the invention is produced in one Coextrusion process in which the hard elastic part 2 with Areas protruding laterally over the soft elastic part 1 the webs 11 is extruded.
- the parts of the squeegee are deformed by subsequent deformation of the Web 11 of the hard elastic part 2 brought into close positive engagement.
- the plastic shape can be done so that the webs 11 in their entire width with the soft elastic Part 1 can be brought into contact or that only a partial area the webs or in the final state of the doctor blade opposite them angled areas under plastic deformation be brought into contact with the soft elastic part 1.
