Definitions
- the invention relates to a switch connector with in contact chambers Insulating body arranged contact springs, contact blades of a corresponding Mating connector can be inserted into the contact chambers and thereby come into contact with the contact springs and the at least a resilient short-circuit bridge is provided, the two adjacent Contact springs short-circuit when the mating connector is not plugged in and where the short circuit when inserting the knife contacts into the contact chambers by an elastic actuating part acting on the short-circuit bridge will be annulled.
- Such switch plugs are used in electronic systems in contacts or contacts selected when disconnecting a connector Contact elements of one connector, namely the switch connector, not end as "open” contacts (signal lines), but with each other need to be connected.
- Such a switch connector is known from US 5 259 776 A.
- U-shaped short-circuit bridges are arranged between adjacent contact springs, on the legs of which non-conductive plastic parts are fastened. When inserting contact blades into the switch connector, these act on the plastic parts of the short-circuit bridges, so that the short-circuit bridges are removed from the contact springs.
- the insulating body is formed in two parts from a base part and a cover part, so that the short-circuit bridges can be inserted into corresponding receptacles in the base part.
- the invention has for its object a switch connector of the beginning mentioned type in that a one-piece insulating body can be used and that the reliability of the switch connector is increased.
- the insulating body is formed in one piece is that the short circuit bridge made of resilient, conductive material is inserted into a recess open to the top of the insulating body between two contact chambers, wherein lateral contact arms of the short-circuit bridge protrude into the contact chambers and resiliently rest on the contact legs of the contact springs, that the actuator is made of plastic material and in the entrance area the contact chambers is provided that the insulating body has a recess in the top has, in which a fastening part of the actuating part is inserted is that the fastening part has a flap which with the Fastening part is pivotally connected by a film hinge that the actuating part protrudes into the respective contact chamber such that the Bottom of the flap on the upper areas of the contact arms of the shorting bar rests, and that an inserted contact knife on the Presses top of the actuator, the actuator a force exercises on the short-circuit bridge and moves it so that the short-circuit will be annulled.
- the advantages achieved by the invention are in particular that through the separately provided actuating part and its arrangement also if contact blades of the mating connector are inserted at an angle, on the one hand safe cancellation of the short circuit between two contact spring ends of the switch connector is achieved, and on the other hand, the required creepage and clearance distances between conductive Parts of the connector always guaranteed, so that the functional reliability is increased overall.
- the insulating body of the switch connector can be formed in one piece and that an unchanged knife connector can also be used as the mating connector, also known and used for plug connections without switching elements.
- a further advantage of the switch connector according to the invention is that the contact elements used are known double contact springs that are already in stock for other applications / connectors, and the contact springs contacting on one side can be produced by simply removing a spring leg of a double contact spring.
- the switch connector shown in Fig. 1 consists essentially of an insulating body 1, which is provided with contact chambers 2, into which contact elements 3 are inserted and anchored from the bottom 4, the contact elements being designed as spring contacts.
- the contact elements are arranged in rows and columns, and the mechanical design / plug geometry of the switch plug is such that a corresponding mating plug with knife contacts can be plugged in with it.
- the overall plug-in geometry is designed in accordance with standard DIN connectors.
- a short-circuit bridge is inserted between two adjacent contact chambers, which short-circuits the spring contacts of this chamber when the knife contacts are not inserted, and which is removed from the spring contacts when the knife contacts are inserted, so that the short-circuit is removed.
- FIGS. 3, 3A and 4 show the arrangement of the contact elements 3, the short-circuit bridge 5 and an actuating part 6 within the insulating body 1.
- the insulating body is provided with contact chambers 2, into which contact elements 3 are inserted.
- a recess 7 is formed between two adjacent contact chambers and is open toward the top 8 of the insulating body.
- the short-circuit bridge 5, which is shown in FIG. 7, is inserted into this recess.
- the short-circuit bridge made of electrically conductive material is bent approximately in a U-shape and has a fastening leg 9 and a contact leg 10. The contact leg is resilient with respect to the mounting leg.
- the "normal" contact elements 3 are designed as double-sided contacting spring contacts, each with two contact legs, while the contact elements 3 'used as switching contacts are designed as single-sided contacting contact springs, each with only one contact leg.
- An actuating part 6 made of plastic material is provided for actuating the switching contacts, ie for eliminating the short circuit when inserting a mating connector, which is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
- the actuating part 6 is connected to a fastening part 19 by a film hinge 15.
- the fastening part has lateral projections 16, which are used for fastening and holding the actuating part in a correspondingly shaped recess 17 in the top 8 of the insulating body. After the fastening part has been inserted into this recess, it projects into the two adjacent contact chambers 2, the underside of the actuating part resting on the upper regions of the contact arms 13 of the short-circuit bridge (FIG. 3).
- the contact arms have corresponding curves / bends to form support areas.
- the upper side (20) of the actuating part is preferably designed such that, after this part has been inserted into the insulating body or the contact chambers, the geometry of the insertion region of the contact chambers with switching contacts corresponds to the geometry of the insertion regions of the contact chambers with normal contacts.
- the knife contacts 18 enter the contact chambers 2 (FIG. 3A).
- the blade contacts assigned to the switching contacts 3 ' first hit the top of the actuating part 6 and press it down.
- the underside of the actuating part exerts a force on the contact arms 13 of the short-circuit bridge 5 and presses them to the side in such a way that the connection between the adjacent contact elements 3 'is separated.
- the knife contacts then come into contact with the contact legs of the contact elements 3 '.
- the resilient contact leg 10 of the short-circuit bridge pushes the actuating part back upward, and the contact arms of the short-circuit bridge come into contact with the corresponding contact elements 3 'again.
- the short-circuit bridge is made of resilient plastic material, either the plastic material being made electrically conductive by appropriate additives or having a conductive coating / metallic galvanization, this being provided at least in the area of the contact arms 13.
- a metallic contact piece is fastened to the arms in the region of the arms as the conductive connecting piece.
