Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an electrical appliance for cleaning water vapor from smooth surfaces such as panes, comprising means for connection to a source of electrical energy, means for storing a water reserve, electrical means for heating said water reserve to producing water vapor and means of distributing water vapor produced, towards the outside of the device.
  • window cleaning remains a tedious manual operation which, until recent years, was essentially carried out using means such as water mixed with certain cleaning products and a mechanical action carried out by the user himself to remove the dirt and remove it using rags or chamois.
  • Cleaning product sprayers have also been developed and marketed to simplify or lighten this cleaning operation.
  • the principle of steam cleaning is to make steam in a heavy boiler, therefore remaining on the ground, and long to heat, to send it through a series of accessories and plastic tubes on a window squeegee, make it condensing on the windows, thus communicating strong heat to the dust to remove it from the glass, drag the condensed water charged with dust and remove it from the glass by wiping off condensed drops.
  • Such a device avoids the use of cleaning product, does not leaves no film of grease on the glass or smooth surface to clean, and ensures reduced mechanical action to loosen dust.
  • the document FR-A-1,561,817 further describes a portable device for steam jet cleaning, which includes a pump connected to a water tank separate from the heating means.
  • a pump integrated in the device such as a pump piston actuated using an electromagnet and an oscillating armature, increases the cost, the fragility and size of the device.
  • Document FR-A-2 218 867 also describes a washing gun for surfaces such as windows, the production of which is complex and does not optimize the steam production process due to the existence of a liquid reservoir cold separate from the vaporization chamber and from the implementation of a transfer of the product from the tank to the vaporization chamber, from a regulating and safety organs in the form of valves.
  • the document AT-A-303 300 describes an apparatus according to the first part of independent claim 1 and comprising a capillary storage body.
  • the invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and to allow clean glass or other smooth surfaces with water vapor with all the specific advantages of this system while avoiding the use of devices bulky, complex, expensive or dangerous.
  • the electric portable device only requires the presence a power supply, which can be a power source conventional in alternating current or, for applications for example in cleaning automotive glass, a low DC power source voltage.
  • the apparatus according to the invention retains all the advantages of cleaning with steam and in particular prevents the formation of a greasy film on the surfaces to be cleaned, as soon as the cleaning is done without the contribution of conventional maintenance means.
  • the device is harmless due to the absence of high vapor pressure or high temperature and can be carried out mainly in material plastic, which helps reduce mass and cost. Thanks to the incorporation an instant steam generator in the body of the device comprising means for spraying and diffusing steam and for scraping steam condensate containing suspended dust and dirt, the appliance can be very quickly ready for use.
  • one or more ceramic resistors such as heating elements allows automatic adaptation to the heating of the quantity of water present and avoids the addition of other safety devices such as additional means for determining the presence of water, thermostats or fuses.
  • the apparatus according to the invention lends itself to different embodiments having advantageous characteristics.
  • the series of front orifices of vapor diffusion and the scraper member are substantially parallel.
  • the instant steam generator is essentially parallel to the series of frontal vapor diffusion orifices and to the scraping.
  • the steam generator instant is essentially perpendicular to the series of frontal orifices of diffusion of steam and to the scraping device.
  • the steam generator instant form an angle between about 30 ° and 60 ° relative to the middle direction formed by the series of frontal vapor diffusion orifices and by the scraping member.
  • the plastic housing further defines a handle located at the rear of the appliance on the side of said housing which is opposite to the wiper arm.
  • the handle in the shape of a handle facilitates use while distancing still from the steam generator the user's hand.
  • the first enclosure of the instant steam generator is equipped with a first end, of a cover ensuring the geometrical positioning and sealed cartridge.
  • the first enclosure comprises two perforated half-shells joined between them by connecting means.
  • the instant steam generator has a second enclosure outer forming with said cover a sealed envelope with the exception of a vapor withdrawal orifice, means for centering the second enclosure external to the first enclosure being provided to reserve a space free between these speakers.
  • the free space between the first and second enclosures receives water which can be expelled from the capillary body when it is heated and produces steam while allowing this water to return to the capillary body when the evaporation process is interrupted.
  • this free space also allows water to be collected excess when filling with water, this water not contained in the body porous material which can be rejected before putting the device into service.
  • the second enclosure has at one end opposite the end of the first enclosure provided with a cover, a sealed closure means removable allowing selective filling of water with inside the steam generator, a redaction of the excess water and a Hermetic closure of the second enclosure.
  • the vapor withdrawal orifice is formed in a projecting part of the second enclosure, this projecting part projecting to the interior of the second enclosure towards the center of the steam generator in a complementary re-entrant part of the first enclosure, so as to prevent or reduce the penetration of any residual water droplets into the steam.
  • the steam distributor includes a part defining an elongated cavity and attached to the second enclosure for collecting the vapor from said vapor withdrawal orifice, this steam distributor comprising a series of nozzles introduced in leaktight manner in said series of front holes formed in the housing.

  • the squeegee holder consists of plate-shaped extensions of the two parts of the housing above said series of front orifices, the member scraping being pinched between said plates.
  • the scraping member is advantageously made of flexible material.
  • the scraper member comprises at its end part, in the vicinity of the two lateral ends, inclined ribs arranged essentially perpendicular to the main face of the scraping and extending side cut sides of said end portion.
  • the inclined ribs formed at the ends of the scraping member in flexible material prevent, in a normal movement from top to bottom, that steam droplets escape through the ends of the squeegee, preventing the creation of possibly dirty vertical traces on already cleaned parts.
  • the squeegee holder may also include a strip of spongy fabric. arranged parallel to the scraping member. This strip of spongy tissue can be arranged above the scraping member. However, it is also advantageous to have a spongy tissue under the flexible part of the scraping and partially in contact with it over its entire length, thus allowing to accumulate in this spongy tissue water laden with dirt and minimizing the horizontal traces of stopping the squeegee and the need to regularly clean the squeegee.
  • the flexible scraping member may be replaced by a scraping member made of rigid material to allow scraping of semi-solid materials such as ice, snow or partially melted frost by steam.
  • the device can also include accessories allowing it to play complementary functions, in particular for concentrating the steam in order to obtain a jet for cleaning more advanced in a more localized area.
