Abstract

The curtain (10) has an upper end (11c) fastened to an overhead framework (21) of a structure (20) which is equipped with sprinklers (22). The curtain has two walls (11) which are joined together along their lower edges (11d) and vertical sides. The sprinklers are positioned so that they spray liquid onto the inner surface of at least one of the walls. At least one of the curtain's vertical edges has outlets for the liquid adjacent to its lower edge, linked to a recuperator. Additionally, the inside of the curtain has spacers (13) between the walls. The spacers are able to slide along a central strip or cable (15) and break under the weight of one wall of the curtain.

Description

La présente invention concerne un rideau coupe-feu.The present invention relates to a fire curtain.

Such curtains are used in constructions, and especially in establishments receiving from the public, in order to avoid the spread of fires between different parts of the building. These curtains thus make it possible to compartmentalize large volumes and usually consist of a canvas limiting the spread of flames and fumes during of a fire.

These curtains are usually folded in time normal and are only deployed in the event of a fire.

It is known to water these curtains evenly on one side of the canvas, in particular to limit the spread of heat and the rise in canvas temperature.

However, these curtains require creating at channel level to collect water from the lower end of the curtain. These channels of recovery form obstacles and cannot be masked by a floor covering.

In addition, correct water recovery is only carried out if the curtain is in its position normal vertical. However, it is not uncommon for the curtain, under the effect of the wind or because of obstacles, either deflected from this vertical position when deployed in case of fire. Water is poorly, if at all, recovered in the channels, causing the flooding of local.

Le document FR-A-2 300 582 décrit un dispositif coupe-feu comprenant les caractéristiques telles qu'exposées dans le préambule de la revendication 1.Document FR-A-2 300 582 describes a device firebreak including features such as as set out in the preamble of claim 1.

However, according to this known device, in the event collapse of one of the curtain walls, both walls of it collapse together, thus leaving the fire spread freely.

Document FR-A-2 287 926 also describes a fire curtain of a structure not allowing either more to prevent the spread of the fire when a part of the curtain suspension structure collapses.

The object of the present invention is to resolve the disadvantages above by proposing a device forming a fire curtain including the features techniques as defined in the section Characterizing of claim 1.

Divers avantages peuvent également être obtenus par le dispositif formant rideau coupe-feu tel que défini dans les revendications dépendantes 2 à 10.Various advantages can also be obtained by the fire curtain device such as defined in dependent claims 2 to 10.

Ces avantages peuvent être résumés comme suit :

  • Grâce au rideau coupe-feu à double parois, formant sensiblement une poche, et à l'arrosage des faces intérieures des parois, l'eau est récupérée à l'intérieur même du rideau, de sorte qu'il n'est plus nécessaire de prévoir au niveau de sol des rigoles de récupération et, en outre, tout risque d'inondation des locaux protégés est ainsi évité ;
These benefits can be summarized as follows:
  • Thanks to the double-walled fire curtain, substantially forming a pocket, and by sprinkling the interior faces of the walls, the water is collected inside the curtain itself, so that it is no longer necessary to provide recovery channels at ground level and, in addition, any risk of flooding of protected premises is thus avoided;
  • When the fluid used is a liquid such as water, a predetermined volume of this liquid is accumulated in the lower part of the curtain and this liquid trapped on the lower end of the curtain makes it possible to ballast the latter, thus ensuring good tension of the curtain: the impermeability to fumes or gases at ground level is thus perfect, the curtain thus ballasted is kept vertical even in the event of horizontal overload due to the wind and the lower end of the curtain can moreover exactly match the ground and the any objects accidentally under the curtain when it is deployed; and
  • protection against fire is guaranteed even when one of the parts of the construction collapses, a curtain of water being interposed between the remaining curtain and the fire.

D'autres particularités et avantages de l'invention apparaítront encore dans la description ci-après : Other features and advantages of the invention will also appear in the description below :

The latter can for example be a building large dimensions for industrial purposes or intended to receive a large number of people.

It comprises in known manner a framework upper 21 supporting the cover.

The curtain 10 comprises two integral walls 11 to each other along a lower end 11d and vertical edges 11e of the curtain 10.

These two walls 11 include ends 11c upper fixed to the upper frame 21 on the entire width of the curtain 10. The curtain 10 thus forms a pocket attached to the upper frame 21.

The walls 11 are made of fabric of classes M1 or M0 limiting the spread of flames and hot or flammable gases and thermally insulate the two parts of the construction separated by the curtain 10.

These walls are formed as examples fabrics and glass fibers, fabrics in cotton / polyester or ceramic fiber reinforcement keep on going. These fabrics are liquid tight or allow only a small amount of liquid to ooze in the case of a cotton / polyester fabric.

In accordance with the invention, these means 22 are suitable for watering by the fluid at minus an inner face 11a of a wall 11, that is to say one of the faces 11a facing the two walls 11.

The fluid used in the example described below is water. Another liquid or refrigerant gas could also be used.

A wall 26 of the construction 20, adjacent to the vertical edge 11e of the curtain 10, comprises means for fluid recovery 28.

In this example, the evacuation means 12 consist of an orifice arranged at a height predetermined above the lower end 11d of the curtain 10.

The water escaping through this orifice 12 is recovered in the recovery means 28 which can include a pumping device 28 and possibly recycling water to redistribute it to watering means 22.

As illustrated in Figure 2, the orifice 12 can be located at a height equal to About 250 mm above the ground 31 and the end lower 11d of curtain 10, i.e. equal to about 1 / 40th of the total height of the curtain, so that a volume of water remains trapped inside curtain 10 with double walls 11.

This accumulation of water in the lower part of the curtain 10 ensures the stability of the latter and good tension, as well as the sealing on the ground 31 of an area by compared to another separated by the curtain 10.

At the end of use of this fire curtain or to maneuver it, we can evacuate the volume of water trapped by an electro-mechanical valve and a flexible piping introduced into the orifices 12 located on each side edge 11e of the curtain 10.

The sprinkler means 22 include two series nozzles 30 arranged on the upper frame 21 of the construction 20. These nozzles are suitable for watering a inner face 11a respectively of each wall 11, independently of each other.

You can get irrigation from either walls or both simultaneously.

Les moyens d'arrosage 22 comprennent des tuyauteries 32 d'amenée d'eau équipées de buses réparties uniformément sur la largeur du rideau 10, c'est-à-dire le long de l'extrémité supérieure 11e du rideau 10.The sprinkler means 22 include water supply pipes 32 fitted with nozzles uniformly distributed over the width of the curtain 10, that is to say along the upper end 11e of the curtain 10.

These projection nozzles 30 make it possible to form a curtain of water or a blade of water over the entire area of the inner face 11a of a fabric 11.

This indoor irrigation with water causes water to evaporate in the event of a fire providing convective movement and cooling of the interior elements of the curtain 10, such as the irrigation system 30, 32 itself or the frame part 21 supporting the curtain.

As illustrated in FIG. 5, the two walls 11 are connected by strips 13 forming spacers and equal length to maintain the two walls 11 parallel to each other.

The bands 13 can be made up of Canvas straps identical to that used for the walls 11.

These strips 13 can have a length between 0.5 and 1.5 meters, thus adjusting the spacing between the two walls 11. Preferably, this spacing is between 0.8 and 1 meter.

The bands 13 forming spacers are adapted to rupture under a tensile force of intensity substantially equal to the weight of one of the two walls 11.

So if one of the frame parts upper 21 collapses with one of the walls 11, the strips 13 have a breaking strength calculated for allow the tears 13 to be torn and the place of the other wall, on the side of the area of the construction remaining in place.

Thus, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, a rupture zone 21a is arranged in the framework 21 allowing the subsidence of one part of the construction 20 leaving the adjacent parts stable. The curtain 10 according to the invention extends substantially below this rupture zone 21a.

The curtain 10 has several strips 13 evenly distributed over its length as shown in Figure 5 and several bands 13 superimposed on the curtain height as shown in figure 2.

Each strip 13 forming a spacer comprises a connecting piece 14 adapted to slide on a cable or ribbon 15, this cable or ribbon 15 having a first end 15a fixed to the lower end 11d of the curtain and a second end 15b fixed to a reel 23 secured to the upper frame 21 of the construction 20.

When the cable or ribbon 15 is wound on the reel 23, the set of bands forming a spacer 13 are folded over each other so that the two walls 11 are folded close to the frame upper 21 of construction 20.

Ces plaques ont une longueur égale à celle du rideau, comprise entre 80 et 100 m et une hauteur égale à environ 0,5 m.Preferably, protective plates 24 are attached to the upper frame 21 and extend towards the ground 31 on a height sufficient to hide the entire curtain 10 when in position folded as shown in Figure 4A. These plates have a length equal to that of the curtain, between 80 and 100 m and a height of approximately 0.5 m.

This height corresponds substantially to the size of the curtain 10 folded back when the latter has a height of approximately 10 meters in the deployed position.

De même, des plaques de protection 25 sont solidaires des parois verticales 26 de la construction et s'étendent parallèlement au rideau 10, de chaque côté de celui-ci.Similarly, protective plates 25 are integral with the vertical walls 26 of the construction and extend parallel to the curtain 10, on each side of it.

A zone 27 can be delimited by the plates 25, the vertical wall 26 adjacent to an edge 11e of the curtain 10 and a second side wall 26a parallel to the first vertical wall 26 in order to accommodate the sprinkler control and recovery mechanisms the water.

Ces plaques de protection 24 et 25 sont de préférence réalisées en un matériau coupe-feu de classe M0.These protective plates 24 and 25 are of preferably made of a class fire-resistant material M0.

Le fonctionnement va maintenant être décrit notamment en référence aux figures 4A à 4E.The operation will now be described in particular with reference to FIGS. 4A to 4E.

In the event of a fire, the deployment of the curtain 10 is controlled either manually or automatically, following an order given for example by a fumes. The reel 23 is then rotated, by a motor (not shown) for example and the cable or ribbon 15 is then progressively unwound. The bands 13 slide progressively on the cable 15 so that the walls 11 unfold.

The curtain irrigation is then controlled either on the two interior faces 11a, or only on the face 11a of the wall exposed to fire.

En cas de rupture de l'ossature 21 de la construction 20 dans la zone en feu, seule l'autre paroi 11 reste suspendue à la partie restant en place de la construction 10.If the frame 21 of the construction 20 in the burning zone, only the other wall 11 remains suspended from the remaining part of the construction 10.

The curtain according to the invention therefore allows compartmentalize tall buildings volumes and thus very effectively limit the spread of fire.

Of course, many modifications can be made to the example described above without depart from the scope of the invention, as defined in claims.
