Abstract
<IMAGE>The pressure substance distribution device (ink tube) for a rotary screen printing machine essentially consists of a main tube (1) with a round cross-section and a smaller additional diameter (3) parallel round tube (3), which is arranged via a plurality of connecting channels (2) which are equally spaced axially parallel ) is integrally connected to the main pipe. The additional pipe (3) serves as a substance distributor pipe and is provided with a plurality of substance application nozzles (8) on an outer lateral surface facing away from the connecting channels (2). Description
The invention relates to a device for uniformly supplying and distributing ink, paste or the like substances, also referred to below as the application substance, in a rotary screen printing machine.
The ideally completely homogeneous, even distribution of application substances, in particular ink at the application point in the area of a doctor blade, is a particular problem, especially in the case of large printing widths. In various design variants, duct systems with several graduation levels are known in various design variants, which increase with increasing number continuously narrowing branch channels are interconnected. Examples of such three-stage or multi-stage distribution devices are described in the publications DE 33 35 252 C2, in the older publication DE-OS 23 09 300, which has largely the same content, and in a more recent embodiment in WO94 / 17927.
All known multi-stage cascade arrangements of such substance distribution devices have the fundamental design-related disadvantage that the removal and replacement of this device during machine changeover, but especially during cleaning, is relatively difficult and cumbersome. In the case of machines for textile printing, customers increasingly want fabrics, carpets and the like to be able to print only in small, small quantities, but with a significantly increased variety of patterns and colors, thanks to modern computer-aided image and pattern design is almost inspired.
A particular ecological problem arises with rotary screen printing machines for the named application areas. When changing ink or printing substance, it must generally be possible to change the so-called ink tube, that is to say the aforementioned distribution device for the ink or generally the printing substance, but on the other hand to be able to clean or dispose of it as environmentally friendly as possible. In the previously known devices, the suction of the residual paint from the paint tube or the distributor device and the possibly subsequent cleaning by means of cleaning agents represent a particular problem, especially because the substance distribution chambers in the known devices of this type are generally at least partially polygonal - for example a rectangular cross-section with edges tapering at an obtuse or obtuse angle, slit-like substance supply nozzles and the like. In the known devices of this type, complete removal of residual color (residual substance) by suction is practically impossible and also only possible with great effort when cleaning with solvents, often only by disassembling the substance distribution device itself.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a small volume, simple to produce, light weight and easily replaceable printing substance distributor for rotary screen printing machines, which can be produced inexpensively and for a wide variety of printing widths.
The invention is characterized in a device for uniformly distributing ink, paste and the like substances in a rotary screen printing machine according to the invention by a parallel arrangement of two round tubes extending essentially axially over the clear length of a screen printing cylinder, one of which serves as a substance feed tube with a larger diameter and one A proximal end is provided with a connection for a pump that can be adjusted to the flow resistance in the tube arrangement and / or the substance consumption, and is preferably provided with an interchangeable closure at the distal end, while the other round tube, provided as a substance distributor tube, has a much smaller diameter via a A plurality of axially parallel, equally spaced and orthogonal to the axis of the main pipe connecting channels is integrally connected to the substance feed pipe and along one of the connecting channels should be provided with a large number of substance distribution nozzles over substantially its entire length is.
With regard to a good cleaning possibility of the distributor device, which is preferably made of plastic tube material that is at least smooth on the inside, it is advantageous if the substance distributor tube, which runs parallel to the substance feed tube, is provided with ball valves at both ends and is connected to the substance feed tube either directly or via these on both sides. The ball valves are then closed in the ink tube inserted in the rotary screen printing cylinder. After removal and for suctioning off residual paint or for cleaning, the ball valves are opened, so that a simple flushing is generally sufficient for complete cleaning, whereby it should be emphasized that, as a rule, suctioning off the then reusable paint or application substance is sufficient. The two ends of the substance distribution pipe preferably open into the substance supply pipe at an obtuse angle.

- Fig. 2
- a simplified sectional view to illustrate how the substance distribution device is arranged within the associated perforated printing cylinder of the rotary screen printing machine.
In Fig. 1 you can see a small in diameter compared to known substance distribution devices main pipe, here referred to as material feed pipe 1, which can be connected at its proximal curved end with a
The main pipe or substance feed pipe 1 is connected over a substantial part of its axial length via a plurality of short connecting
- The entire distribution device can be made of plastic with very light inner surfaces or thin-walled stainless steel pipes. This alone significantly improves handling during installation and color change.
- As shown by tests, the substance distribution device according to the invention enables a very good, uniform distribution of the paint or paste within a very large viscosity range.
- Since the substance distribution device according to the invention can obviously be produced for a large range of different printing widths, there is an economically attractive possibility for the user to keep a plurality of such color tubes inexpensively available for the most varied possible uses of his screen printing machine.
- The substance distribution device according to the invention has a comparatively very small internal volume. The small amount of residual paint can largely be completely sucked back due to the good internal accessibility of the
material distributor pipe 3 when theball valves 4 are open. - Despite the very simple construction, the two tubes are rigid and so firmly connected to one another that good stability can be ensured both during the printing process within the machine and during installation, removal and cleaning.
Due to its easy installation and removal and its good cleaning options, the new substance distribution device offers advantages, above all for users who want frequent and rapid color changes, with a particular ecological advantage being that a largely complete recovery of residual color can be ensured without any problems.
