Description

Die Erfindung offenbart eine neuartige Verwendung an sich bekannter Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas.
Hohlkammerplatten aus thermoplastischen Kunststoffen werden in transparenter Ausführung seit nunmehr fast 25 Jahren für Verglasungen im gewerblichen und privaten Bereich eingesetzt. Hohlkammerplatten bestehen grundsätzlich aus zwei oder mehreren Gurtplatten mit dazwischenliegenden Vertikal- und/oder Diagonalstegen. Diese Struktur verleiht den Platten eine hohe Steifigkeit bei geringem Eigengewicht und gute wärmedämmenden Eigenschaften. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaften sowie der hohen Lichtdurchlässigkeit und Witterungsbeständigkeit bei gutem Brandverhalten finden Hohlkammerplatten, vorzugsweise hergestellt aus den Kunststoffen Polymethylmethacrylat, Polycarbonat oder Polyvinylchlorid, üblicherweise Verwendung im gewerblichen Bereich, z. B. für Gewächshäuser, Industrie- und Sporthallen, und im privaten Bereich, z. B. für Pergolen-, Terrassenüberdachungen und Wintergärten.
Polyolefinhohlkammerplatten finden bislang Anwendung als Verpackungsmaterial.
Hohlkammerplatten werden durch Extrusion mittels eines dem Querschnitt entsprechenden Werkzeuges durch gleichzeitige Ausbildung der Außen- und Mittelschichten (Außen- und Mittelgurte) und der Stege erzeugt. Nach dem Austritt des Hohlstranges aus der Extrusionsdüse werden die Außengurte beim Durchlaufen eines Vakuumformkanals (Kalibrierung) unter die Erweichungstemperatur abgekühlt. Die Mittelschichten und Stege bleiben länger thermoplastisch als die Außenschichten. Da sie nicht gestützt werden, neigen die Mittelschichten im allgemeinen bei waagerechter Extrusion zum Durchhängen zwischen den Stegen. Dieser Effekt läßt sich vermindern, wenn die Mittelschichten sehr dünn ausgeführt werden, weil dann weniger Wärme bis zum Unterschreiten der Erweichungstemperatur abzuführen ist, und wenn darüber hinaus sehr langsam extrudiert wird.
Häufigste Ausführungsform ist die Stegdoppel-/Stegdreifachplatte, bei der die Stege in regelmäßigen Abständen zueinander senkrecht zur Plattenebene verlaufen, so daß im Querschnitt das Bild von sich aneinanderreihenden rechteckigen Kammern entsteht.
Wegen des anisotropen Verhaltens solcher Platten im Hinblick auf die Biegesteifigkeit wurden insbesondere für Produkte aus PMMA andere Geometrien wie z. B. die sog. Fachwerkgeometrie entwickelt.
Bei diesen Geometrien bilden die Stege mit den Platten einen Winkel von ca. 45 °, was infolge verbesserter Übertragung von Querkräften zu geringeren Spannungen und zu einer höheren Steifigkeit, bei ähnlichem Flächengewicht, führt.
Infolge dieser Maßgaben können beim Einbau dieser Produkte weitere Unterstützungsabstände der tragenden Elemente gewählt werden, wodurch sich der Materialaufwand für die Tragekonstruktion und der Zeitaufwand für die Installation vermindern.
Für Polycarbonat sind Schrägstegmehrfachplatten bekannt geworden (EP-A-0 530 545), bei denen zwei im vorgegebenen Abstand parallel zueinander angeordnete Platten durch sowohl Schrägstege als auch lotrecht verlaufende Vertikalstege verbunden sind.
Dadurch, daß ein Teil der Stege - im Querschnitt gesehen - die obere und untere Platte im Zick-Zack verbindet, während der andere Teil in den Knotenpunkten der schräglaufenden Stege mit der oberen oder unteren Platte ansetzt und lotrecht zur gegenüberliegenden Platte verläuft, soll die Schrägstegmehrfachplatte aus Polycarbonat eine ausreichende Belastbarkeit aufweisen, da das Knicken nach jenseits des Belastungsmaximums verschoben wird, wobei dieses so definiert ist, daß die Durchbiegung bei einer Last von 750 N/m2 nicht mehr als 5 % beträgt, bezogen auf die Breite der Platte.
Aus der EP-A-0 054 856 sind viele mögliche Querschnitte für Hohlkammerplatten bekannt, in denen zumindest ein Teil der Stege in jedem periodisch wiederkehrenden Abschnitt schräggestellt ist. Die Figuren 3e und 3f gemäß EP-A-0 054 856 zeigen dabei Geometrien mit jeweils 3 Gurten, die jedoch nur im Falle der Ausführungsform gemäß Figur 3e zur Produktion reiften.
Des weiteren gab es auch Ansätze, Stegmehrfachplatten mit erhöhter Wärmeisolierung unter weitgehendem Ausschluß von Lichtverlusten zu erzielen, wobei u. a. aus der EP-A-0 286 003 eine Stegvierfachplatte bekannt geworden ist, die gegenüber beispielsweise Stegdreifachplatten einen um 30 % erniedrigten k-Wert von in etwa 1,8 W/m2K aufweist. Trotz der Vermeidung einer Zunahme des Flächengewichts hat sich die in der EP-A-0 286 003 vorgestellte Platte nicht am Markt durchgesetzt.
Aus der EP-A-0 109 388 ist die Verwendung einer Verbundplatte bekannt, die eine Stegplatte aus Kunststoff enthält, bei welcher mindestens zwei durchgehende Platten durch Stege miteinander verbunden sind, wobei die Stegplatte auf mindestens einer ihrer beiden Seiten mit einer Verfestigungsschicht aus einem vom Kunststoffmaterial der Stegplatte unterschiedlichen Kunststoff verbunden ist, daß zwischen der Stegplatte und der Verfestigungsschicht insbesondere eine haftvermittelnde Ausgleichsschicht vorgesehen ist und daß die Hohlräume in der Stegplatte ggf. mit einem Kunststoffschaum ausgeschäumt sind. Die gezeigte Verbundplatte wird zur Herstellung gewölbter Platten, insbesondere für Glaskuppeln u. dgl., durch Verformung in der Wärme oder zur Herstellung gekrümmter, vorzugsweise mit Textilmaterial überzogenen Formkörpern durch Verformung in der Wärme verwendet.
Obwohl es eine Vielzahl weiterer Druckschriften gibt, die sich mit der Herstellung und Verwendung von Hohlkammerplatten befassen, ist allen bislang bekanntgewordenen Anwendungsgebieten gemeinsam, daß sie sich im wesentlichen auf Außenüberdachungen beziehen.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß sich Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas hervorragend als Ersatz von Holzwerkstoffplatten, insbesondere MDF-Platten, bei der Möbelherstellung eignen. Hier können Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas erfindungsgemäß sowohl als Frontteile als auch als Korpus eingesetzt werden.
Standardmäßig werden heute im Möbel- und vor allem auch im Küchenmöbelbereich Holzwerkstoffplatten, insbesondere die beschichtete MDF-Platte (d. h. mitteldichte Faserplatte) eingesetzt. Die MDF-Platte besteht in der Regel aus Lignozellulosefasern und einem synthetischen Bindemittel und hat den Vorteil, daß sie eine hohe Stabilität mit einer relativ leichten Verarbeitbarkeit verbindet. Wird jedoch z. B. eine Sichtseite mit hochglänzender Oberfläche gewünscht, so muß die MDF-Platte entweder hochglanzlackiert oder mit einem hochglänzenden Furnier beklebt werden. Andere Dekore und Oberflächenstrukturen werden durch Aufbringen von bedruckten und/oder geprägten Folien, meist aus PVC, oder durch hochdrucklaminierte Papiere erzeugt.
Der Kern der MDF-Platte ist durch Beschichtung oder Lackierung dann zwar relativ dauerhaft und die Oberfläche kann auch kratzfest vergütet sein, die hierzu benötigten Materialien erschweren jedoch das Entsorgen oder Recycling der Verbundkörper erheblich, ja machen es ohne vorherige Trennung der Bestandteile nahezu unmöglich. Die sortenreine Trennung wiederum ist, wenn überhaupt möglich, mit zu hohen Kosten verbunden und daher nicht praktikabel. Außerdem sind die Holzwerkstoffplatten, insbesondere aber die MDF-Platten, in der Regel nicht feuchtigkeitsresistent.
Ein Werkstoff, der bekanntermaßen sowohl Oberflächen von höchstem Glanz als auch eine hundertprozentige Recyclierbarkeit miteinander verbindet, ist gegossenes oder extrudiertes Acrylglas. Es hat nun schon Versuche gegeben, sich bei der Schaffung von Möbelfronten, die dem Anforderungsprofil : "Hochglanzoberfläche und vollständige Recyclierbarkeit" genügen, dieses Werkstoffs in Form von gegossenen Acrylglasplatten zu bedienen, die Akzeptanz am Markt war bislang allerdings eher gering. Massives Acrylglas kann zwar sowohl die Forderungen nach Gefälligkeit und Hochglanzoberfläche als auch nach vollständiger Wiederverwertbarkeit ohne den gefürchteten Effekt des "Downcyclings" befriedigen, ist jedoch in massiver Ausführung sehr schwer und teuer und damit bislang meist nur für Musterstücke, nicht aber für eine Massenproduktion von Teilen für die Möbelindustrie, insbesondere Möbelfronten, geeignet. Vorteilhaft beim Acrylglas ist jedoch in jedem Fall seine Feuchtigkeitsunempfindlichlichkeit.
Durch die Verwendung von Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas als Ersatz der MDF-Platten gelingt es erfindungsgemäß besonders vorteilhaft,
  • 1. den Wunsch nach Glanz-Oberflächen zu befriedigen;
  • 2. einen vollständig recyclierbaren Werkstoff bereitzustellen, und zwar ohne die Notwendigkeit vorhergehender Trennoperationen;
  • 3. eine Platte zu schaffen, deren Oberfläche leicht dekorierbar ist, und zwar sowohl während der Fertigung (d. h. während der Extrusion durch Strukturierung) als auch nachträglich (Bedruckung); und
  • 4. die ein relativ günstiges Gewicht bei ausreichender Stabilität aufweist.
  • Im Rahmen der Erfindung ist es grundsätzlich besonders vorteilhaft, daß aufgrund des Vorhandenseins von Hohlkammern, die Platten der Erfindung eine deutliche Gewichtsersparnis gegenüber einer massiven Ausführungsform bereitstellen, während die Oberfläche des Acrylglases den hohen Glanz oder ein beliebiges Dekor zum gefälligen Erscheinungsbild der gesamten Platte liefern kann.
    Da Stege als auch Gurte aus Acrylglas bestehen, erfüllt das erfindungsgemäße Bauteil insbesondere vorteilhaft die Forderung nach einer 100 %igen Recyclierbarkeit. Da eine erfindungsgemäß in der Möbelfabrikation verwendete Hohlkammerplatte unter den Depolymerisationsbedingungen des Acrylglases 100 %ig in seine Bestandteile depolymerisiert, ist bei der Wiederaufarbeitung von gebrauchten Platten kein Aufwand in Form von Trennung von etwaigen Bestandteilen zu betreiben. Vielmehr ist das gesamte Material als Wertstoff wiederzugewinnen. Nach entsprechendem Vorbereiten von Altplatten oder Fronten, beispielsweise durch Schreddern oder Zerkleinern in geeigneten Mühlen oder ggf. auch gänzlich unzerkleinert, können die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Hohlkammerplatten einem standardmäßigen Recycling-Verfahren für Acrylglas unterworfen werden. Hierbei depolymerisiert das Acrylglas und wird durch Extraktion, Destillation und/oder Rektifikation ohne jeglichen Qualitätsverlust als Monomeres wiedergewonnen.
    Im Rahmen der Erfindung sind grundsätzlich alle für Acrylglas bekannten Hohlkammerplattengeometrien als Möbelplatten verwendbar. So können Platten mit zwei, drei oder vier Gurten mit vertikalen Stegen oder schrägen Stegen oder Kombinationen davon eingesetzt werden.
    In jedem Fall ist aber die Verwendung von Hohlkammerplatten bevorzugt, die wenigstens zwei Gurte sowie diese unter Ausbildung von benachbarten Hohlkammern beabstandende Stege aufweisen, wobei die endständigen Stege der randseitigen Kammern verstärkt sind. Durch eine dickere Ausbildung der endständigen Stege der jeweils äußeren Kammern gelingt es besonders vorteilhaft, eine Verwendung zur Fertigung von Möbeln zu erleichtern, da die dickeren Kanten eine Nachbearbeitung der Formen ermöglichen. Darüber hinaus wird insgesamt auch die Schlagfestigkeit der als Holzwerkstoff- und vor allem MDF-Platten-Ersatz verwendbaren Hohlkammerplatten verbessert.
    Die Dicke der Gurte ist im allgemeinen unkritisch. Die Dicke soll jedoch hinreichend groß sein, um zum einen eine ausreichende Gesamtstabilität der Hohlkammerplatte zu gewährleisten, und zum anderen soll eine Planlage der gesamten Platte erreicht werden. Ist die Dicke der Gurte zu gering, so entstehen im Fertigungsprozeß der Hohlkammerplatte Schwankungen der Dicke, insbesondere in den Bereichen der Stege, welche nach Möglichkeit zu vermeiden sind. Bevorzugt werden daher Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas als Ersatz von MDF-Platten in der Möbelfabrikation verwendet, bei welchen die Dicke der Gurte zwischen ca. 2 und 6 mm beträgt. Ist die Dicke der Gurte über 6 mm, so werden die Bauteile als Möbelfronten schon zu schwer, während bei einer Dicke unterhalb von 2 mm, wie erwähnt, eine u. U. nicht ausreichende Stabilisierung der Gurtdicke im Bereich der Stege erreicht wird.
    Die Stärke oder Dicke der endständigen Stege der erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Hohlkammerplatten ist im Bezug auf die Dicke der Gurte bevorzugt so zu wählen, daß die Dicke der endständigen Stege der randseitigen Kammern der Hohlkammerplatte gleich oder größer ist als die Dicke der Gurte, insbesondere als die des stärksten Gurtes. Damit wird ein für die gesamte Nachbearbeitung der Formen an den Kanten und Randseiten ausreichendes Materialpolster zur Verfügung gestellt, wodurch insbesondere bei der Nachbearbeitung bzw. bei der Montage eine unbeabsichtigte Beschädigung der Hohlkammerplatten vermieden wird.
    Aufgrund der Einfachheit der Fertigung und des geringen Preises sind Hohlkammerplatten mit vertikalen Stegen für die erfindungsgemäße Verwendung ausreichend und besonders bevorzugt. Des weiteren ist besonders bevorzugt die Verwendung einer Hohlkammerplatte, die in Form einer Schrägstegdoppelplatte bzw. einer Fachwerkplatte ausgeführt ist.
    Obwohl auch der Einsatz von transparenten Hohlkammerplatten in der Möbelindustrie durchaus denkbar wäre, ist es aus ästhetischen Gründen jedoch bei weitem bevorzugt, Platten einzusetzen, die zumindest in den nach der Montage der Hohlkammerplatten sichtbaren Teilen der Platten nicht transparent sondern eingefärbt sind. Es läßt sich mit der Reihe dem Fachmann geläufiger Pigmente eine Vielzahl von ästhetisch ansprechenden Färbungen erzeugen. Diese können des weiteren mit bestimmten Effekten, wie Glanz, Struktur, metallic, etc., kombiniert werden. Grundsätzlich sind alle auf dem Markt erhältlichen und dem Fachmann bekannten Verbindungen zum Färben von Acrylglasmassen geeignet.
    Die bekannten Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas werden erfindungsgemäß bevorzugt als Möbelfronten verwendet. Solche Fronten sind mit allen Standardmaterialien kombinierbar. So kann die Front aus einer Hohlkammerplatte bestehen, während der Korpus aus Holzwerkstoffplatten gefertigt ist.
    Die Acrylglashohlkammerplatten können jedoch genauso gut zur Fertigung von Korpussen, d.h. zur Herstellung des massiven, die eigentliche Gestalt des Möbels ausmachenden Teils, eingesetzt werden. Diese Ausführungsform hat den Vorteil bei ausreichender Stabilität besonders leicht zu sein. In diesem Fall können die Fronten ebenfalls aus Acrylglas-Hohlkammerplatten aber auch aus einem anderen Material bestehen.
    Bevorzugt sind die Acrylglas-Hohlkammerplatten zur Schaffung von Möbelstücken oder ganzen Möbelsystemen geeignet, die vollständig aus Acrylglas bestehen. Möglich ist in diesem Zusammenhang die Kombination mit teilweise oder vollständig massiven Platten aus gegossenem Acrylglas. Zweckmäßig ist der Korpus aus massivem Acrylglas während die Front oder Tür aus Hohlkammerplattenmaterial besteht.
    Zur Fertigung von Möbelstücken können Fronten und Korpusse aus Hohlkammerplatten gegebenenfalls in Kombination mit massiven Acrylglasteilen oder auch anderen Materialien auf an sich bekannte Weise verarbeitet werden. So kann eine Front in Form einer Hohlkammerplatte mit einem beliebigen Korpus (Hohlkammerplatte aus Acrylglas, massives Acrylglas, Holzwerkstoffplatte, MDF-Platte etc.) z. B. durch sogenannte Topfbänder oder Topfscharniere verbunden werden. Zur Befestigung dieser Verbindungselemente werden - wie von anderen herkömmlichen Möbelwerkstoffen bekannt - entsprechende Öffnungen in einen Gurt der Hohlkammerplatte eingebracht, beispielsweise durch Bohren oder Fräsen. Hierbei ist besonders hervorzuheben, daß die Festigkeit der Hohlkammerplatten bei einer Gurtstärke von 2 bis 6 mm ohne weiteres zur Aufnahme der beim Gebrauch der Möbelelemente auftretenden Kräfte ausreicht.
    Die erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Hohlkammerplatten werden vorteilhaft durch kontinuierliche Extrusion hergestellt. Durch entsprechende Ausbildung des Austrittsdüsenprofils des zur Herstellung der Platte verwendeten Extruders können beliebige gitter- oder fachwerkartige Anordnung der Stege (Versteifungszwischenwände) erhalten werden, die dem Hohlplattenprofil nicht nur in der Längsrichtung, sondern auch in seiner Breite bei relativ geringem Materialaufwand ein hohes Widerstandsmoment geben, selbst bei verhältnismäßig geringer gesamter Profilhöhe. Man erhält hierbei eine Meterware, mit einer an die Erfordernisse der Möbelindustrie beliebig anpaßbaren Breite. Bevorzugt wären z. B. Breiten die an die Rastermaße (Standardbreite für Küchenmöbel), beispielsweise also etwa 600 mm, angepaßt sind. Die Stegabstände sind dabei im allgemeinen frei wählbar, da die Stege im wesentlichen als Abstandhalter zwischen den einzelnen Gurten dienen. Speziell für die Verwendung als Möbelelement sind Stegabstände bevorzugt, die in etwa der gesamten Plattendicke entsprechen.
    Im nachfolgenden wird die Erfindung anhand eines Ausführungsbeispiels unter Bezugnahme auf die beigefügte Zeichnung näher erläutert.
    Die Figur zeigt einen schematischen, teilweise weggebrochenen Querschnitt durch ein Hohlplattenprofil mit vertikalen Versteifungsstegen.
    In der Figur bedeutet das Bezugszeichen 1 eine als Ersatz von Holzwerkstoffplatten, bevorzugt von MDF-Platten, in der Möbelfabrikation einzusetzende Hohlkammerplatte. Die Hohlkammerplatte ist aus Acrylglas gefertigt. Der Schnitt erfolgte quer zur Längsrichtung der Platte 1.
    Die Platte 1 weist sogenannte Gurte 2a,2b auf, die im wesentlichen planparallel zueinander angeordnet sind. Die Gurte 2a,2b werden durch im wesentlichen vertikale Stege 3a,3b beabstandet. Gurte 2a,2b und Stege 3a,3b sind miteinander integral ausgebildet. Jeweils zwei benachbarte Stege 3a,3a oder 3a,3b bilden mit dem oberen Gurt 2a und dem unteren Gurt 2b eine hohle Kammer 4a, 4b aus.
    Die Kammern 4a,4b verlaufen nebeneinandergeordnet parallel zueinander in Längsrichtung der Platte 1. Wenn eine Kammer nur eine einzige unmittelbar benachbarte Kammer aufweist, dann handelt es sich um eine randseitige Kammer 4b. Die randseitigen Kammern 4b werden von Stegen 3a und jeweils einem endständigen Steg 3b begrenzt. Man erkennt, daß die Dicke der Stege 3b größer ist als die Dicke der Stege 3a, wobei die Dicke der Stege 3b in etwa der Dicke der Gurte 2a oder 2b entspricht.

    Claims (7)

    1. Verwendung von Hohlkammerplatten aus Acrylglas als Ersatz von Holzwerkstoffplatten, insbesondere MDF-Platten d.h. mitteldichte Faserplatten, in der Möbelfabrikation.
    2. Verwendung nach Anspruch 1,
      dadurch gekennzeichnet,
      daß die Hohlkammerplatten (1) wenigstens zwei Gurte (2a,2b) und diese unter Ausbildung von benachbarten Hohlkammern (4a,4b) beabstandende Stege (3a,3b) aufweisen, wobei die endständigen Stege (3b) der randseitigen Kammern (4b) verstärkt sind.
    3. Verwendung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
      dadurch gekennzeichnet,
      daß die Dicke der Gurte (2a,2b) zwischen 2 und 6 mm beträgt.
    4. Verwendung nach Anspruch 3,
      dadurch gekennzeichnet,
      daß die Dicke der endständigen Stege (3b) der randseitigen Kammern (4b) größer als die Dicke des stärksten Gurtes (2a,2b) ist.
    5. Verwendung nach Anspruch 1 bis 4,
      dadurch gekennzeichnet,
      daß die Stege (3a,3b) der Hohlkammerplatte (1) vertikal sind.
    6. Verwendung nach Anspruch 1 bis 4,
      dadurch gekennzeichnet,
      daß die Hohlkammerplatte eine Schrägstegdoppelplatte ist.
    7. Verwendung nach Anspruch 1 bis 6,
      dadurch gekennzeichnet,
      daß zumindest die nach Montage der Hohlkammerplatte sichtbaren Teile der Platte nicht transparent sondern gefärbt sind.
