Description

The invention is directed to a container with a screw cap for nail polish, mascara liquid or the like. The closed position of the screw cap is defined relative to the container by at least one end stop, and a push-on cap is attached to the screw cap in a rotationally fixed manner. Such a container is known from FR-A-2 439 137.

Such containers are often provided with an outer decoration in the form of an imprint in order to achieve a decorative promotional appearance, which decoration - be it in the form of a graphic design or a lettering - often continues from the outside of the push-on cap over the actual container.

Especially with higher quality products, it is considered a considerable deficiency of the packaging if, due to an inaccurate positioning of the screw or push-on cap relative to the container, an offset in the circumferential direction occurs both during the first mechanical assembly and in later use, so that the overall appearance Decor is affected.

Accordingly, stops with a very sophisticated geometry have been attached to the thread between the screw cap and the neck of the container, in order to ensure that an audible and tactile snap-in effect occurs during use and that reliable orientation is also ensured in the end position.

However, it has so far not always been ensured that there is no play or misorientation between the push-on cap and the screw cap when the screw is first screwed on, so that the precision which is obtained as a result of the stops is lost again.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to design a container of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that a fully automatic, mechanical assembly of the push-on cap on the screw cap is made possible and nevertheless an optimal alignment is ensured.

This object is achieved in that on the (outer) outer surface of the screw cap or on the inside of the plug cap a circumferential ring shoulder having a thread-like pitch is formed, so that a stop shoulder is formed in the transition area between the beginning and end of this ring shoulder, with the stop shoulder, aligned with this, extends downwards into an orientation slot, and an orientation web extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and whose width corresponds to the width of the orientation groove is formed on the inner wall of the plug-in cap or on the outer surface of the screw cap.

Accordingly, if the push-on cap is placed and rotated in any angular position relative to the screw cap during the mechanical screwing-on process, the underside of the orientation web slides along the ring shoulder until the stop shoulder is reached and accordingly the orientation web can engage in the orientation groove and thus the push-on cap can be fully pressed onto the screw cap in a defined angular position relative to it.

Conveniently, the ring shoulder rotates around 360. However, this is not absolutely necessary for the implementation of the invention. In one variant, the ring shoulder runs with a continuous, constant slope, while in another variant it is also conceivable to let the ring shoulder run over a larger area of its circumferential angle without a slope relative to a surface perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and only in a smaller angular area to provide an incline or bevel for the orientation slot.

In a preferred embodiment it is provided that the annular shoulder has a slope of approximately 2 now per 360 °.

Furthermore, it is advantageously provided that a plurality of grooves parallel to one another and to the longitudinal axis are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the screw cap or on the inside of the plug cap below the ring shoulder, and that corresponding webs are formed on the inside of the plug cap or on the outer circumferential surface of the screw cap . These additional webs create a defined connection which ensures that the orientation between the plug cap and the screw cap is maintained even in later use.

In the following, for the sake of simplicity, it is assumed that the grooves are formed on the outside of the screw cap, and, as is evident from the above, the same effect can be achieved by interchanging them by attaching the grooves to the plug cap.

Accordingly, it can be provided for a plug-in cap with an approximately square cross-section that in the region of each center of the plug-in cap at least one web is arranged and that the orientation web is formed in the area of a corner of the plug cap.

If the container is designed, for example, as a nail polish unit and the screw cap accordingly has an application element with a handle and a holding head, the holding head engaging over the container mouth, it can advantageously be provided that the ring flange of the holding head, which overlaps the container mouth, lies flat on the end face of the container mouth , so that a safe and tight system is guaranteed, which prevents the leakage of liquid and the evaporation of volatile components.

This is achieved in particular in that the holding head is fixed in the screw cap by means of an annular bead or an annular groove, the annular groove having a greater extent in the axial direction than the annular bead. When pre-assembling the holding head in the screw cap, it is positioned so that the ring bead in the ring groove in a position comes as low as possible. This leads to the fact that when screwing onto the glass bottle, the ring bead is pressed up as far as is necessary due to the specific geometry of the glass bottle or the specific deviation from the nominal dimensions. In the lowest position of the ring bead, it is guaranteed in any case that a flat contact is achieved even when the glass bottle is dimensioned at the lower limit. If, on the other hand, the glass bottle has an excess in the usual, not insignificant fluctuation ranges, a flat, dense contact is achieved on the one hand, and on the other hand a squeezing of the plastic is prevented and thereby an undesirable cold flow. The configuration according to the invention thus reliably transfers the screwing torque in the circumferential direction and in the axial direction from the push-on cap to the screw cap and thus to the relevant sealing surfaces.

In a manner known per se, a sealing cone can also extend from the underside of the holding head into the container mouth.

To achieve optimal power transmission to the sealing surfaces, it is also advantageously provided that an annular projection is formed on the inside of the cover of the screw cap and the inside of the holding head has a recess, on the jacket surface of which webs extending parallel to the longitudinal axis extend in such a way that the annular projection presses on the top of the webs when inserting the holding head.

A container shown in the drawing is designed, for example, as a glass bottle 1 for nail polish and comprises a neck 2 with an external thread 3, onto which a screw cap 4 can be screwed in such a way that stops formed on the container neck 2 or on the underside 5 of the screw cap 4 6 a defined end position can be set when screwing on. About the screw cap 4, a push-on cap 7 is placed, the lower portion 8 engages over the neck 2 of the container, and which also protrudes upward above the screw cap 4 in order to provide a comfortable grip during handling and an appealing visual appearance.

The holding head 9 for an application element comprising a handle 10 and a brush 11 is snapped into the screw cap 4 via an annular bead 12 on the inside of the screw cap 4 and a corresponding annular groove 13 on the outside of the holding head 9, the annular groove 13 extending axially further than the annular bead 12, so that the annular bead 12 can assume a position depending on the dimensional tolerances of the glass bottle, which leads to a flat, tight contact at the container mouth, as will be described below.

As is particularly clear from FIGS. 2 and 3, the push-on cap 7 has an approximately square cross section with rounded sides in the exemplary embodiment. In the area of a corner 14 of the plug cap 7, an orientation web 15 extends in the direction of the bisector, which runs parallel to the longitudinal axis 16 of the plug cap 7 or parallel to the longitudinal axis 17 of the screw cap 4 or parallel to the longitudinal axis 18 of the container 1.

Die Erstreckung in Längsrichtung des Orientierungssteges 15 ist, wie aus Fig. 2 deutlich wird, etwas größer als diejenige der untereinander gleichlangen Stege 19.Crosspieces 19, which also run parallel to the longitudinal axis 16, are formed on both sides of the center 20 of each side surface 21 of the push-on cap 7. As is clear from FIG. 2, the length in the longitudinal direction of the orientation web 15 is somewhat larger than that of the webs 19 of equal length.

The screw cap 4 has an annular shoulder 22 on its outside, which represents the transition area between a lower section 23 and an upper section 24 of the screw cap 4, accordingly the lower section 23 has a larger diameter than the upper section 24.

The annular shoulder 22 has an incline in the manner of a thread, so that between the starting point 25 of the annular shoulder 22 and its end point 26, a stop shoulder 27 is formed, from which an orientation groove 28 extends downward in alignment therewith. Corresponding to the circumferential distribution on the inside of the plug cap 7 of the webs 19, further grooves 29 are provided on the outside of the section 23 of the screw cap 4 and extend downward from the ring step 22. The width of the orientation groove 28 corresponds to the width of the orientation web 15 and the width of the grooves 29 corresponds to the width of the webs 19, the width of the orientation groove 28 and the corresponding orientation web 15 being greater than the width of the grooves 29, so that the orientation web 15 in the grooves 29 can not penetrate.

This enables a fully automatic, mechanical assembly of the push-on cap 7 on the screw cap 4 by the push-on cap 7 being able to be plugged onto the screw cap 4 in any orientation, starting from an appropriate angular position until the orientation bar 15 is turned System comes to the stop shoulder 27 and accordingly engages in the orientation groove 28 and along this the push-on cap 7 can be pushed down to the stop on the screw cap 4. At the same time, the webs 19 penetrate into the grooves 29, so that an absolutely defined connection is made both in the circumferential direction and in the axial direction between the push-on cap 7 and the screw cap 4, so that any manufacturing tolerances are compensated, so that the same positioning accuracy in the push-on cap 7 Circumferential direction is achieved as for the screw cap 4 due to the stops 6, such as be described in more detail in connection with the German patent application P 44 02 227.

The holding head 9 has an inner recess 30, with webs 32 extending on the inner wall 31 thereof parallel to the longitudinal axis 17 of the screw cap 4. Extends from the cover 33 of the screw cap 4 an annular projection 34, which is positioned in the radial direction in such a way that it bears against the upper side 35 of the webs 32 in the assembled state shown in FIG. 1.

On the underside of the holding head 9, an annular flange 36 is formed, which rests flat against the end face 37 of the container neck 2 and its flat contact by the force transmission from the push-on cap 7 to the screw cap 4 and further from its cover 33 via the ring projection 34 onto the webs 32 is reliably guaranteed. A sealing cone 38 engages elastically in the mouth of the bottle neck 2, which is further supported in a manner known per se by an annular gap 39.

PP.The webs 32 are preferably made of a relatively soft plastic, e.g. LTPE and the ring projection from a relatively hard plastic, such as PP.
