Abstract

The tube has a peg-shaped neck extension (3) at its upper end, which contains a predetermined breaking point (4). The neck extension (3) is generally positioned under the removable protective cap (7). A short socket (9) is formed on the upper side of the cap (7) in an axial direction, the interior diameter of which is slightly greater than the diameter of the neck extension (3). The inner surface of this socket (9) and the outer surface of the neck extension (3) are provided with corresponding notch flanges (5) or notch grooves (10), such that the cap (7) and the neck extension (3) are non-positively connected to each other when rotated about the longitudinal axis, when the cap (7) with the socket (9) is positioned on the peg-shaped neck extension (3). If the cap (7) is rotated in this position about the longitudinal axis with slight pressure simultaneously exerted then the peg-shaped neck extension (3) is sheared off at the predetermined breaking point (4) and the tube is thereby opened. The cap (7) thus acts as protective cap on the one hand and as a tool for opening the tube on the other hand.

Description

The invention relates to a tube-shaped container for a pasty or liquid product with a pin-shaped, breakable neck extension designed as a tube closure, which is covered by a removable cap. If such tubes are used as packaging for pharmaceutical products (ointments or solutions), care must be taken to ensure that the tube neck remains aseptic when possible when the tube is opened. German patent 2,653,993 describes a container with a breakable closure, the head piece of which is specially designed and is thus secured against soiling and the accumulation of germs when opened.

Another requirement, which is particularly important for packaging whose content contains substances harmful to health, concerns the problem of child safety. This means that the opening of the package is deliberately made more difficult by additional constructive measures, so that children are no longer able to open the package easily.

This is where the invention comes in. It is the object of the invention to provide a tube-shaped container with a special closure which, on the one hand, can be opened by the consumer without external aids and, on the other hand, is so complicated that it is generally not possible to open the tube unintentionally or in a playful manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a tubular container with a pin-shaped, breakable neck extension designed as a tube closure and covered with a cap in that a tube piece is formed on the outside of the cap in the middle and in the axial direction, the diameter of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the Cervical process. In addition, the tube piece on its inside and the neck extension on its outside are provided with locking webs or grooves, so that the cap and neck extension are non-positively connected with respect to a rotation about the longitudinal axis when the cap is rotated through 180 ° to open the container and with the tube is pushed over the neck process. The cap expediently closes flush with the pipe section; d. H. the cap is extended to the end of the pipe section.

According to a preferred embodiment, an annular gap is present at the height of the pipe section between the outer wall of the cap and the pipe section and a circular web is arranged on the tube neck, the diameter of which corresponds to the ring gap diameter and the depth of which corresponds approximately to the length of the neck extension.

These measures ensure that the pin-shaped neck process is not easily broken off with the fingers. Rather, to open the cap must first be removed, turned through 180 ° and pushed with the pipe piece over the neck extension. The pin-shaped neck extension is sheared off by a subsequent rotary movement and by a slight axial pressure exerted on the cap at the same time. This opens the tube opening so that the contents can be removed. The basic idea of the closure is therefore that the cap is used as a tool for opening the tube.

The invention is described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment shown in the drawing.

Show it:
  • Fig. 1, the tube head piece with attached cap in the closed state, as the tube is supplied by the manufacturer and
  • Fig. 2 opening the tube by means of the cap placed upside down.

At the connection of the neck extension 3 to the tube neck 2 there is a predetermined breaking point 4. The cylindrical neck piece 3 is provided on its lateral surface in the manner of a corrugation with longitudinal webs 5. A circular web 6 is arranged on the top of the tube neck 2. The circular web 6 is at least as high as the neck extension 3; d. H. the neck extension 3 is sunk in the trough formed by the circular web 6. The diameter of the circular web 6 and the height of the neck extension 5 are only a few millimeters, so that it is practically impossible to break off the neck extension 3 with the fingers.

The cap 7 is pushed over the tube neck 2 and has a conical inner contour adapted to the tube neck 2. Locking elements 8 are attached to the tube neck 2 and the cap 7 so that the cap 7 cannot be removed easily. Moreover, the tolerances of the conical contours are not critical, since a certain amount of play can remain between the tube neck 2 and the cap 7 and no sealing closure is required at this point.

Desgleichen entspricht die Tiefe des Ringspaltes 11 der Höhe des Kreissteges 6.On the top of the cap 7, a short tube piece 9 is formed axially, the clear width of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the cervical process 3. The difference in diameter is, for. B. 0.1 to 0.01 mm. The length of the pipe section 9 corresponds approximately to the length of the neck extension 3. The inner surface of the tube piece is provided with longitudinal grooves 10, which correspond to the number and dimension of the longitudinal webs 5 on the neck extension 3. The outer wall of the cap 7 is pulled up to the height of the pipe section 9; ie the cap 7 is flush with the pipe section 9. Between the pipe section 9 and the outer wall of the cap, an annular gap 11 remains on the upper side, the diameter of which approximately corresponds to the diameter of the circular web 6 on the tube neck 2. Likewise, the depth of the annular gap 11 corresponds to the height of the circular web 6.

The transverse extent of the circular web 6 and the annular gap 11 are dimensioned such that the circular web 6 fits into the annular gap 11 with play when, as shown in FIG. 2, the top 7 of the cap 7 is placed on the tube neck 2. According to FIG. 2, the cap 7 is pulled off the tube neck 2, rotated through 180 ° and pushed with the pipe section 9 over the neck extension 3. The circular web 6 also pushes into the annular gap 11. The longitudinal webs 5 on the neck extension 3 engage here in a form-fitting manner in the annular grooves 10 of the tubular piece 9, so that the cap 7 in the position according to FIG. 2 cannot be rotated about the longitudinal axis, without simultaneously exerting a torsional force on the cervical process 3. Thus, the cap 7 is designed as a tool with which a torque can be exerted on the neck extension 5 and - with appropriate dimensioning of the length of the tube piece 9 - also an axial pressure on the neck extension 3. When a limit value predetermined by the predetermined breaking point 4 is exceeded, the neck extension 3 is sheared off, so that the tube opening is released. The tube contents can then be removed in the usual way.

It is obvious that due to these constructive measures the tube can no longer be opened in the usual way. Rather to 4 steps (removal of the cap 7 - turning the cap 7 180 0 - replacing the cap 7 on the tube neck - shearing of the neck extension 3) are required. This provides a certain degree of certainty that children cannot open the lock accidentally or playfully. The new closure is especially designed for single-use tube packs.

Another advantage is that the closure is structurally simple and therefore injection molding friendly. As a material z. B. polypropylene can be used, which is processed with appropriately designed injection molding tools.
