Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum automatischen Spleissen von zwei mit selbstklebenden Haftetiketten beschichteten Etikettenbändern und eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens. Das Verfahren ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das neue Etikettenband (7) mit seinem Anfangsabschnitt, von dem mindestens ein Etikett entfernt worden ist, in eine stationäre Warteposition gebracht wird und daß das fast verbrauchte Etikettenband (1) nach der Ablösung vom Rollenkern an der Sollbruchstelle mit der dadurch freigelegten Klebstoffschicht eines am Ende des fast verbrauchten Etikettenbandes angebrachten Verbundklebebandes (3) mittels Kontaktberührung an dem Anfangsabschnitt des neuen Etikettenbandes (7) vorbei bewegt wird. Dadurch wird eine klebende Verbindung zwischen den beiden Etikettenbändern gebildet. Zur Durchführung des Verfahrens eignet sich insbesondere eine Vorrichtung, welche das Einbringen des neuen Etikettenbandes (7) in die Warteposition und die Ausbildung der klebenden Verbindung zwischen den beiden Etikettenbändern wesentlich erleichtert. Diese Vorrichtung besteht aus einer starren und einer verstellbaren Einheit, die unter Bildung eines als Führungsweg für beide Etikettenbänder dienenden Spaltes zusammenwirken, wobei die starre Einheit eine feste Führungsbacke aufweist, während die der starren Einheit gegenüberstehende, verstellbare Einheit eine Einlegebacke und einen Andrückzylinder (11) aufweist, der auf eine in der Höhe der feststehenden Führungsrolle angebrachte Andrückrolle (29) einwirken kann, die in der verstellbaren Einheit in horizontaler Richtung beweglich gelagert ist und mit der feststehenden Führungsrolle (11) unter Bildung einer Kontaktstelle für beide Etikettenbänder synchronisiert ist.
