Abstract

The invention relates to a mop holder with an elongated frame for receiving a mop cover, with at least two e.g. plate-shaped folding wings forming wiping surfaces for the introduction of their edge sections into pockets of the mop cover, and with an articulated plate part for the attachment of a handle holder, e.g. by means of a universal joint.

Such mop holders are known, for example, from DE 37 14 178 A1. The two elongated folding wings are articulated via transverse axes to a central joint plate part and releasably locked in their extended working position relative to the latter. They form an essentially continuous wiping surface on their underside, while the handle holder connected to the joint plate part via a universal joint lies on the upper side of the extended mop holder. A mop cover is put on in that when the mop holder is folded, the outer (front) ends of the folding wings are inserted into pockets provided on the top at the outer (front) ends of the elongated mop cover and then the folding wings are moved into their elongated working position, in which they are against each other are releasably locked.

The object of the present invention is to improve a mop holder with the features mentioned at the outset by having high Area performance, low chemical and water requirements, long service life, short cycle times in the cleaning process and / or simple and convenient operation without bending over and without touching the mop cover combined with simple construction and low manufacturing costs.

This object is achieved with the invention in a mop holder of the type mentioned essentially in that the folding wings are articulated with each other and with the hinge plate part about a longitudinal axis and that the edge portions provided on the longitudinal edges of the folding wings for inclusion in pockets on longitudinal edges of the mop cover are formed.

Due to the nature of the articulated connection between the articulated plate part and the two folding wings, it is possible to fold the two folding wings with their lateral edge sections into the pockets on the longitudinal edges of the mop train on the opposite side surfaces of the middle articulated plate part after insertion, and with the articulated connection of the handle holder to align one or the other folding wing with the outer side covered by the mop cover parallel to the floor to be wiped. The geometry of the articulated connection is particularly favorable and the structure of the mop holder is particularly simple if, according to one embodiment of the invention, the folding wings are articulated to one another and to the articulated plate part about one and the same longitudinal axis.

A particularly simple handling of the mop is possible if the hinge plate part can be pivoted to the inside of a folding wing and releasably connected to it, and then the unit can be swiveled from the one folding wing and the hinge plate part to the inside of the other folding wing and can be detached therewith is connectable, so that a relatively flat package of articulated plate part in the middle and folding wings is reached outside, on which the mop cover is mounted and the outside of which it covers.

The mop cover can be particularly easily pulled onto the holder when the two folding wings can be pivoted downwards from the horizontal away from the articulated plate part into an insertion position, for example determined by a stop, in which the folding wings hanging downward are at an acute angle to one another stand. When lifting the mop holder by means of the handle, the hinge plate part assumes a vertical position, while the two folding wings hang diagonally downwards from it. In this position, the mop holder can be placed on the mop cover, which is spread out flat on the floor, and pressed down, so that the folding wings expand into their horizontal position and insert the outer edge sections into the pockets of the mop cover.

The detachable connecting device between the folding wings and the hinge plate part can, for example, have such a latching, clamping, adhesive or Velcro connection that they can be produced without manual handling by pivoting the hinge plate part relative to the folding wings and can also be easily released again.

The connection device can be released in particular by providing an actuating element for separating the folding wings from their contact with the hinge plate part and / or a folding wing, with the aid of which the latching, clamping, adhesive or frictional forces can be overcome as they are may be exercised by the releasable connecting device.

The articulated connection of the handle holder is expediently provided on the longitudinal edge of the articulated plate part facing away from the longitudinal axis, as a result of which a simple construction with good handling of the mop is ensured.

In order to achieve an optimal force distribution, the joint plate part can be narrower than the two folding wings, i.e. e.g. have half the width, the two folding wings additionally having an edge recess in the area of the handle holder. In this way, the hinge connection of the handle holder on the hinge plate part lies between the two wiping surfaces formed by the folding wings.

It is further proposed that the hinge plate part and the two folding wings have approximately the same length, so that the folding wings are supported over a large area on the hinge plate part and the tendency to dirt deposits on the holder is reduced.

To compensate for the material thickness of the mop holder, it may be appropriate for the folding wings to be thinner in the area of the edge sections than in the central area adjacent to the longitudinal axis.

The invention also relates to a mop cover for use on a mop holder, for example one whose elongated frame has at least two folding wings which can be pivoted relative to one another about a longitudinal axis, in particular on a mop holder of the type according to the invention previously discussed. that provided on the longitudinal edges pockets for the insertion of the longitudinal edge portions of the folding wing are provided. In this way, the mop cover can be used, for example, for scrubbing or roughing (with relatively coarse material) and wiping or drying (with relatively soft, absorbent material).
