Definitions
- the present invention relates to a non-lethal electromagnetic ammunition to combat electronic Systems with a magneto-hydrodynamic generator Generation of strong current pulses with a magnetic field compressor, with a high frequency tube for generating Microwave pulses and with an antenna for radiation of these microwave pulses.
- microwave pulses are transmitted with an antenna emitted, can be located in the direction of radiation electronic device, such as radar systems, Telecommunication systems, radio receivers, navigation systems, Fire control systems or automotive electronics destroyed and to be put out of operation.
- radiation electronic device such as radar systems, Telecommunication systems, radio receivers, navigation systems, Fire control systems or automotive electronics destroyed and to be put out of operation.
- DE-PS 35 28 338 (see the preamble of claim 1) describes a device whose Weapon effectiveness through a highly compressed magnetic field is involved, at least one propellant or explosive-powered magneto-hydrodynamic generator stage before or during magnetic field compression for power generation and Current amplification is used; the weapon effect generating magnetic field compressing amplifier uses that magnetic field generated by the MHD pre-stage as a base field.
- the device is designed as a missile, which by a Launch device shot shortly before actual use a certain distance to the target to be fought travels during which the MHD generator gradually increases is driven at full thrust, after which by the approach or Target charge the ignition of the detonatively operated MHD generator stage he follows.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a non-lethal electromagnetic ammunition to combat electronic To create systems that are relatively small and compact can be carried out and still high efficiency fighting, and capable of larger To bridge periods between launch and deployment, the means that is only activated when the one to be combated Electronics is switched on again.
- so-called "ambush ammunition” created by either cannons or dispensers on the target to be fought is fired, or by Missiles are dropped as submunitions, and those with a Parachute is placed gently on the ground, after which the built-in control receiver on the Radiation characteristics, for example the frequency, the Modulation type, pulse shape etc., of the system to be controlled is programmed, the firing sequence of the ammunition is only then free there when the system to be controlled is switched on again.
- the built-in control receiver on the Radiation characteristics for example the frequency, the Modulation type, pulse shape etc.
- both with the gas generator for an annular support cushion can be connected, the Ammunition set up after activation, that is, in a be transferred essentially vertical position, after which the Direction to the target and the alignment of the ammunition towards the target be performed.
- the non-lethal ammunition according to the invention is 1 designated, whereby, as the cross-section shows, in it an MHD generator 2, an explosive 3, a coaxial coil 4, a transmitter 5, a microwave tube 6, a horn antenna 7 and an arrangement 11 for transferring the ammunition into a are arranged substantially vertical position.
- FIG. 2 is a schematic of the principle of operation of the ammunition an energy source 2, for example an MHD generator, which has a magnetic field compressor (or Capacitors) 4 controls to generate current pulses.
- an energy source 2 for example an MHD generator, which has a magnetic field compressor (or Capacitors) 4 controls to generate current pulses.
- 6 is a pulse shaping, for example by a HF tube in particular through a magnetron, and with 7 a generated microwave radiation causing antenna.
- Figure 3 shows a practical example of use of Ammunition according to the invention, for example as submunition launched in greater numbers by one missile 9 becomes. Every non-lethal ammunition can be used with one Parachute 10 be provided for slow descent on the Ground on which there is an electronic target to be fought, for example, the fire control center 8 of an enemy Radar system is located.
- FIG. 4 now shows that several of the invention are not lethal ammunition are distributed throughout the site, each Ammunition with an arrangement for transfer into the essentially vertical position in the form of a with a Gas generator connected inflatable cushion 11 is provided.
- a (not shown) tripod tripod can be used.
- FIGS. 5A and 5B show these in an enlarged representation Arrangement 11, wherein in Figure 5A the transport position or Lurking position is indicated, and in Figure 5B the inflated Position of the pillow 11, the ammunition 1 one in occupies an essential vertical position.
- a control receiver (not shown) is provided which is based on the radiation characteristic, that is the frequency or the type of modulation, or the pulse shape etc., the electronic system to be combated in such a way is programmed that the firing sequence of the ammunition only then is released when the one to be combated, for example system shut down during an air attack, back into the returns to the active state.
- a broadband (not shown) DF receiver in the Ammunition according to the invention is provided, both of which Antennas can rotate around the longitudinal axis of the ammunition, whereby they form an acute angle with each other.
- the DF receiver here also the above-mentioned function of Control recipient can perform. For an exact bearing One turn of the antennas is generally sufficient.
- the Ammunition also with a rigidly installed in the axial direction
- Antenna 7 provided with a horn antenna
- Directional characteristic can be, as well as with one around Longitudinal axis of the ammunition rotatable to this antenna in one Angle of about 45 ° inclined metallic reflector Radiation of the microwave energy, as is clear from Figure 2 is visible.
- the DF antennas and the reflector are located doing so on the same axis of rotation and are rigid with each other coupled. Instead of the antenna on the localized target align, the entire submunition according to the invention into a vertical position by means of a suitable device brought, and then the rotatable reflector according to the target position determined by the direction finder on the target aligned. After alignment, the magneto-hydrodynamic Generator ignited.
- the inventive device for transferring the Ammunition in a substantially vertical direction and to Holding the ammunition in this orientation for example be realized by a mechanically moving tripod like it is known for anti-tank directional mines, or else in that the ammunition with an inflatable, in is inflated ring-shaped pillow provided which is connected to a gas generator, which in turn is connected to the Control receiver is connected, so that the pillow only after the detection of the electronic system to be controlled is automatically inflated, which puts the ammunition in the vertical position is transferred and held in this position.
