Abstract

Ein nach dem Baukastenprinzip aufgebauter Temperaturwächter (10) umfaßt ein zum Schutz eines Verbrauchers bei Übertemperatur schaltendes Bimetall-Schaltwerk (35). Ferner ist ein dem Bimetall-Schaltwerk (35) zugeordnetes erstes elektrisches Bauteil (17) vorgesehen, das bei geöffnetem Bimetall-Schaltwerk (35) in Reihe zwischen Anschlüssen (37, 39) des Temperaturwächters (10) liegt. Ein dem Bimetall-Schaltwerk (35) zugeordnetes zweites elektrisches Bauteil (25) liegt zumindest bei geschlossenem Bimetall-Schaltwerk (35) in Reihe mit diesem zwischen den Anschlüssen (37, 39) des Temperaturwächters (10). Das erste Bauteil (17) ist dabei bei vergleichbarem mechanischem Aufbau als Heizwiderstand (RH) oder als Isolator (41) ausgebildet. Das zweite Bauteil (25) ist bei vergleichbarem mechanischem Aufbau als Vorwiderstand (RV) oder als Kurzschlußteil (43) ausgebildet, so daß bei gleichem mechanischem Aufbau Temperaturwächter mit reinem Übertemperaturschutz, mit Übertemperaturschutz und Selbsthaltefunktion, mit Übertemperaturschutz und Stromempfindlichkeit bzw. mit Übertemperaturschutz, Selbsthaltefunktion und Stromempfindlichkeit bereitgestellt werden.
