Abstract

Device for closing the movable protective covers of a string of railway cars comprising a predefined number of coupled transport vehicles. Each car (1) generally comprises: a lower and upper platform (2, 3) arranged over one another and a cover (4) with an essentially inverted U-shaped cross section preferably covering entirely the sides of the car. The device is characterized in that the covers are associated with the car chassis by operating means for simultaneously raising said covers to a predefined height in relation to a reference plane.
