Definitions

  • This invention relates to a method for mounting, between a horizontal lower slab, such as a lower balcony slab, and a horizontal upper slab, such as an upper bal ⁇ cony slab, located straight above the lower slab, a frame having an upper and a lower horizontal, sectional element and being adapted to support wall elements for building in, at least partly, the space between the slabs.
  • the in ⁇ vention further concerns a balcony comprising a balcony slab and a roof slab located straight above the balcony slab, which between them support a frame of the above type.
  • An object of the present invention is to provide a method which also permits dimensional tolerances in the vertical direction as regards the frame and which is easier to implement than the prior-art method, while at the same time minimising the supplementary work referred to above.
  • this object is achieved by a method which is of the type stated by way of intro ⁇ duction and which is characterised in that at least one lower supporting element and at least one upper support- ing element, which each have a vertical branch, are so attached to, respectively, the lower and the upper slab that their vertical branches extend upwards slightly out ⁇ side the edge surface of the respective slabs, that the frame, whose lower sectional element is formed with a longitudinal groove on the underside, is so placed on the lower supporting element that the vertical branch thereof is inserted in the groove, the lower sectional element of the frame having a vertical flange which extends down over the vertical branch of the lower supporting element on the outside thereof, and the upper sectional element of the frame having a vertical flange which extends up over a substantial part of the vertical branch of the upper supporting element, and that the vertical flange of the upper sectional element is applied against the verti- cal branch of the upper supporting element and is attach ⁇ ed thereto.
  • the supporting elements are adjustably attached to the respective slabs in such a manner that the distance between each vertical branch and the edge surface of the slab is adjustable.
  • the vertical flange of the upper sectional element is conveniently attached to the vertical branch of the upper supporting element by means of self-drilling screws.
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a balcony, which is at least partly built in, by using the method according to the invention.
  • a balcony which is of the type stated by way of intro ⁇ duction and which is characterised in that at least one lower supporting element and at least one upper support- ing element, which each have a vertical branch, are so attached to, respectively, the balcony slab and the roof slab that their vertical branches extend upwards slightly outside the edge surface of the respective slabs, that the frame, whose lower sectional element is formed with a longitudinal groove on the underside, rests with its lower sectional element on the lower supporting element in such a manner that the vertical branch thereof is inserted in the groove, that the lower sectional element of the frame has a vertical flange extending down over the vertical branch of the lower supporting element on the outside thereof, that the upper sectional element of the frame has a vertical flange extending up over a sub ⁇ stantial part of the vertical branch of the upper sup ⁇ porting element, and that the vertical flange of the upper sectional element is applied against the vertical branch of the upper supporting element and is attached thereto.
  • FIG. 1 is a front view of a built-in balcony accord ⁇ ing to the invention.
  • Fig. 2 is a section of the balcony in Fig. 1 taken along line II-II, two of three glass panes being, how ⁇ ever, displaced to the left with respect to Fig. 1.
  • the illustrated balcony comprises a horizontal bal ⁇ cony slab 1 and a horizontal roof slab 2, which is locat ⁇ ed straight above the balcony slab 1 and which here con- stitutes the balcony slab of a superjacent balcony.
  • the balcony slab 1 constitutes the roof slab of a subjacent balcony.
  • the two slabs 1 and 2 are made of con ⁇ crete or steel and are, in conventional manner, attached to the wall of a house (not shown) .
  • the bolts 4 extend through elongate holes 7 formed in the horizontal branches 3a, enabling a certain adjustment of the distance between the vertical branches 3b and the edge surface 6.
  • Two L-shaped supporting elements 8, which are iden ⁇ tical with the supporting elements 3, are, by means of bolts 9, so attached to the roof slab 2 that their hori ⁇ zontal branches 8a are applied against the underside 10 of the roof slab 2 and their vertical branches 8b extend upwards slightly outside the front edge surface 11 of the roof slab 2.
  • the bolts 9 extend through elongate holes 12 formed in the horizontal branches 8a, enabling a certain adjustment of the distance between the vertical branches 8b and the edge surface 11.
  • the balcony is a built-in balcony and is, at the front side, provided with a fixed, lower wall panel 13 of sheet-metal and three glass panes 14, 14', 14", which are horizontally displaceable in relation to each other.
