Im Brandfall stellt sich somit durch die intumeszierende Wirkung der Quellmatte ein erhöhter Anpreßdruck ein, der die eingestellte Vorspannkraft der brandsicheren Halterung im Normalbetriebsfall deutlich übersteigt. Derartige Quellmatten sind jedoch vergleichsweise kostenintensiv, weshalb man bestrebt ist, mit dem Material sparsam umzugehen. Im vorliegenden Fall bedeutet dies, nicht zu dicke Quellmatten oder dergl. zu verwenden und gleichwohl einen ausreichenden Anpreßdruck auch im Brandfall sicherzustellen. Die bekannte Verglasung ist eine Mehrfachverglasung, insbesondere eine Doppelverglasung, die insgesamt mittels vergleichsweise großer Quellmatten eingefaßt ist, wobei die rauminnere Quellmatte einer besonderen Abstützung bedarf, um ihre Funktion sicherzustellen. Verglasung (1) mit einer eine Gebäudeöffnung abdeckenden Doppel- oder Mehrfachscheibe, die mittels einer brandsicheren Schraubhalterung (4,4') auf der Rauminnenseite eines Tragprofils (5) befestigt ist, wobei im Randbereich der Scheiben (2, 3) innenliegende und außenliegende Dichtelemente vorgesehen sind,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß nur die raumaußenseitige Scheibe (2) durch Schraubhalterungen (4, 4') verspannt ist, wobei zumindest einzelne Schraubhalterungen (4) mit dem Tragprofil (5) befestigt sind.

daß zwei benachbarte raumaußenseitige Scheiben (2) zugewandte Verlängerungsabschnitte (9) aufweisen, die rauminnenseitig und raumaußenseitig durch jeweils eine flächige Brandschutzdichtung (6 bzw. 7) mit zugehöriger abstützender Deckschiene (10 bzw. 11) gegeneinander mittels Schraubbolzen (12, 12') oder hohler Schrauben (14) verspannt sind, durch welche sich Schraubbolzen (12) erstrecken können.
