  • In particular, a distance between the separating web and the second leg is smaller than a thickness of the surface element to be held. This prevents accidentally extending into the mounting area during assembly of the surface element and is damaged there by the fastening means with which the retaining rail is fixed in the assembled state on the building part. Conveniently, however, the distance between the divider and the second leg is so large that the fitter can engage laterally in the mounting area with a commercial wrench.
  • Furthermore, in the fastening region, a transverse web can be arranged, which connects the separating web to the connecting web. This increases the stability of the retaining rail.   • Furthermore, the fastening bores can each be keyhole-shaped with a slot-shaped supporting section extending in the longitudinal direction and a circular receiving section. As a result, the mounting of the retaining rail is simplified to the building part. When attaching the retaining rail to the building part screw heads can engage through the receiving portions in the mounting holes.
