Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for stair renovation according to the preamble of
From DE-U-93 15 339 a device for the renovation of stairs with heavily worn or damaged tread edges is known. To renovate the stairs, a new step is placed on the top of the old step, the front edge of which is flush with the vertical front of the old step. The vertical long leg of an essentially L-shaped elbow is screwed to the front of the old step. The short horizontal leg of the contra-angle handpiece has on its underside a longitudinal groove into which a spring of a front panel covering the front of the contra-angle handpiece engages. Furthermore, the vertical leg of the elbow has a spring which fits in a groove in the front panel. In extension of the short leg of the contra-angle handpiece, an inward-facing extension is provided, which overlaps the front edge of the new step.
It is disadvantageous that only prefabricated front panels provided with a corresponding profile, ie with a tongue or a groove, can be fitted in the angle piece of the known device for stair renovation.
The invention has for its object to provide a device for stair renovation of the type specified in the preamble of
Die Lösung der Aufgabe erfolgt erfindungsgemäß mit den Merkmalen des Patentanspruchs 1.The object is achieved according to the invention with the features of
The device for stair renovation according to the invention has two profile rails. The first profile rail is screwed to the front of the old step, while the second profile rail is inserted into the first profile rail. The front panel is bordered by the legs of both rails, which overlap the panel on its top and bottom.
The profile rails of the device according to the invention can be assembled on site without special tools. The lower leg and the longitudinal groove of the first profile rail together with the longitudinal groove and the upper edge of the second profile rail form a kind of snap connection, the second profile rail can be inserted together with the front panel into the first profile rail.
Since the front panel is held in a clamped manner by the two profile rails, separate connecting means need not be formed on the front panel. The front panel can easily be cut from a wooden, plastic or metal strip with a rectangular cross-section. It can be cut from the same material used to cover the old step. This ensures that the front panel is optimally adapted to the new step. Only the upper leg of the first profile rail remains visible.
The profile rails of the device according to the invention are preferably made of aluminum. Plastic profile rails can also be used. The assembly of the device according to the invention is very simple, so that it can also be carried out by do-it-yourselfers.
The first profile rail can be screwed directly to the front of the old step. The renovation of very heavily worn stairs is simplified by a separate angle piece that is pushed onto the old step. When using the contra-angle, the front edge of the old step does not need to be sawed off in order to obtain a right angle. It is also not necessary to straighten the step covering. The elbow preferably encloses the front edge of the old step over its entire width, so that the weight is distributed when entering the step. Since not only the middle area of the step is loaded, the well-known "creaking" after the renovation of the stairs is eliminated.
The elbow not only overlaps the top, but also the bottom of the step, so that the new adjustment step can be pressed and fixed under the horizontal lower leg of the elbow. In this way, the new adjustment stage also supports and stabilizes the substructure.
Since the first profile rail can be attached to the contra-angle at any height, it is possible to cover the old step with materials of different thicknesses. Wood / parquet, PVC, tiles or laminate can be used as covering materials. The height adjustability also allows the transition from the renovated staircase to areas that have already been laid, for example to create an elegant finish for pedestals or apartment crossings.
On the upper edge of the second profile rail, an outwardly facing extension is advantageously provided, which can be inserted in a fitting manner into the longitudinal groove of the upper leg provided on the first profile rail during assembly of the device. This approach overlaps the upper edge of the front panel, so that it is fixed in the second rail, which in turn is connected to the first rail. Since the front panel is held clamped in the second profile rail, the front panel cannot fall out when the second profile rail is inserted into the first profile rail, which simplifies assembly. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a protruding projection, which engages behind the front panel, is formed on the leg of the second front panel to securely fix the front panel.
The lower leg of the first profile rail advantageously has longitudinal ribs on its upper and / or lower side. The ribs engage in corresponding groove-shaped depressions which are formed on the side surfaces of the groove provided on the second profile rail. When placing the second profile rail, the leg of the first profile rail engages in the groove of the second profile rail, so that the second profile rail can only be detached from the first profile rail with greater effort.
The top of the upper leg and / or the attachment of the first profile rail are preferably provided with an anti-slip profile. This can be formed by longitudinal grooves. Alternatively, the leg and / or the attachment can also be provided with an anti-slip coating in order to increase safety when climbing stairs.
In an alternative embodiment of the device for staircase renovation according to the invention, a second profile rail is provided which has an inward-pointing leg which is provided with an upward-facing extension to form a longitudinal groove. The second Profile rail is pushed from below onto the lower end piece of the first profile rail, the front panel being clamped between the upper leg of the first profile rail and the outward-pointing leg of the second profile rail. It is advantageous that in this alternative embodiment, front panels of different widths can be clamped, since the height of the second profile rail, which grips under the front panel, can be adjusted. Component tolerances can also be easily compensated for with the axial fixation of the profile rails.
The inside of the first profile rail and the upward-facing extension of the second profile rail are advantageously provided with longitudinal ribs or groove-like depressions, so that the second profile rail can be pushed onto the first profile rail in a snap-in manner.
In order to be able to securely clamp the front panel between the two profile rails, the upper leg of the first profile rail advantageously has a longitudinal projection which engages behind the upper edge of the front panel. This projection also serves as a cover for covering the cutting edge.
The lower end piece of the first profile rail is expediently flattened in such a way that the interconnected profile rails, which hold the front panel, have a smooth rear side, which expediently comes to rest with an angle piece which is placed on the front edge of the old step.
The first profile rail can be screwed to the old step. To accommodate the screw heads, longitudinally extending depressions are preferably provided in the first profile rail.
In a preferred embodiment, the inward-pointing leg of the second profile rail merges into a projecting approach, with which a facing strip can be clamped, which bears against the lower leg of the angle piece that overlaps the front edge of the old step. This creates a clean border around the old step.
Several exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

Fig. 1 shows a section through a first embodiment of the device for stair renovation. FIG. 2 shows an exploded view of the device. The embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 are used for stairs whose steps are very worn.
The device for stair renovation has an
On its lower edge, the
The
To cover the front of the
To mount the device, the
