Abstract

The paving block (10) is laid on a subsoil layer (18), which allows water to seep away. It has at least one backing layer (12) made of block concrete which is permeable to water, and an additional layer (14) which is connected firmly to it. The additional layer is impermeable to water, and may be made from normal concrete, or from slabs of natural stone. It may also have a thickness of more than 8 mm, and this preferably may be between 10 mm and 20 mm. The sides of the backing blocks may have separators, which create a gap of between 4 mm and 6 mm.

Description

The invention relates to a multi-layer composite stone for surface fastening on seepable subsoil made of at least one water-permeable concrete block and a facing layer firmly connected to it.

Multilayer composite blocks of this type are used in the form of paving stones or pavement slabs for fastening traffic areas and serve the purpose of draining rain water over a large area into the water-permeable substructure as completely as possible. According to DE-OS 40 22 586, a water-permeable facing layer is also arranged on the water-permeable concrete block, which is however provided with finer continuous pores compared to the concrete block and thus prevents coarse contaminants from the water-permeable concrete. This also water-permeable facing layer is thus inevitably exposed to contamination, which impairs the water permeability of the facing layer. A disadvantage for water-permeable facing layers is also considered that the surface of the stone does not allow the same design as normal concrete blocks, such as. B. by stalling, washing, dyeing or sandblasting. This means that it is no longer possible to design traffic areas or squares in the usual way.

The invention has for its object to provide a multi-layer composite stone that on the one hand fully fulfills the task of the water-permeable stone with regard to the removal of rainwater and on the other hand allows the customary surface design of traffic areas and squares and in particular ensures good accessibility.

Starting from the multilayer composite block mentioned at the outset, this object is achieved according to the invention in that the facing layer is water-impermeable.

This water-impermeable facing layer can consist of a normal concrete or a natural stone slab, which is firmly connected to the back concrete in a conventional manner. The facing layer preferably has a thickness of at least 8 mm, layer thicknesses between 10 and 20 mm being regarded as particularly suitable, since the surface of such a facing layer can then be designed in a conventional manner and without additional precautions by sticking, washing, dyeing or sandblasting.

In order to ensure the joint width necessary for the seepage of the water, the invention further provides that the side walls of the back concrete are provided with spacing cams which bring about a joint width of 4 to 6 mm. Such a joint width is sufficient to achieve an infiltration rate of at least 200 l / s · ha, which largely prevents the formation of a water film during normal rainfall. With conventional impermeable paving stones or pavement slabs, a much wider joint is required for the same infiltration performance.

This good seepage performance is achieved with the multilayer composite brick according to the invention in that the rainwater penetrating through the joint can be quickly absorbed and stored in the pore space of the back concrete, in order to then flow into the seepable subsoil. Since the back concrete is very well protected against contamination by the water-impermeable facing layer, the temporary storage capacity of the back concrete block is hardly impaired and the water permeability is thus maintained over very long periods of time. This is particularly the case because the joint is preferably filled with 1 / 3mm or 2 / 5mm grit, so that dirt particles penetrating through the joint are easily carried away by the rainwater flowing out through the much larger pores of the concrete block and rinsed out of the concrete block. This is particularly the case when the back concrete block is used as a single-grain concrete in a conventional manner Grain grit of 5 / 8mm and / or 8 / 11mm and a small amount of sand is made. The single-grain system is expediently constructed in such a way that an infiltration rate of> 200 l / s · ha is ensured if the multilayer composite blocks are laid with spacing cams.

The facing layer made of normal concrete results in a further distribution, namely a combinability with normal concrete blocks on traffic areas subject to different loads, in that the highly stressed areas are covered with normal stones and the less stressed areas are covered with the multi-layer composite blocks according to the invention, without the stones being different is recognizable.

The multi-layer composite block 10 shown in Fig. 1 consists of a back concrete block 12 and a facing layer 14. The back concrete block is constructed in the conventional manner as a single-grain concrete, using 5 / 8mm or 8 / 11mm grit size with a 'small amount of sand and a high proportion of cement. The facing layer 14 consists of a conventional watertight normal concrete with the usual sieve line.

Spacer cams 16 are formed on the side walls of the back concrete, these spacer cams extending over a relatively small surface area of the side walls, so that the full joint width can be filled with chippings between the spacer cams. For the joint filling, chippings with a grain size of 1/3 mm and / or 2 / 5mm used.

The mode of operation of the rain or water drainage with the multi-layer composite block according to the invention can be seen from FIG. 2, which shows in section in the area of a spacing cam adjacent multi-layer composite blocks. Water penetrating into the joint 20 is introduced into the seepable subsoil 18 through this, on the one hand, directly and, on the other hand, indirectly through the water-permeable rear concrete 12, as indicated by the arrows. The joints and the pores of the back concrete act as a buffer for the precipitation, which can flow out of this buffer according to the seepage capacity of the substrate 18. Due to the thickness of the back concrete, a relatively large storage space is available, so that even large amounts of precipitation flow quickly over the surface of the multilayer block and the joint, whereby a water film on the surface of the multilayer block is largely avoided.

In such a traffic area fastened with multi-layer composite brick according to the invention, particularly good accessibility can be ensured on the one hand due to the small joint width required on the one hand and the design of the surface of the facing layer on the other hand, the surface being able to be processed as desired by stopping, washing, dyeing or sandblasting. The impermeability of the facing layer also makes it easy to remove dirt from the traffic area, since the dirt particles only deposit on the surface and can therefore be easily washed away or absorbed using conventional cleaning methods. Basically, this also applies to the joint.

By using a normal concrete for the facing layer, the stones on which the invention is based cannot be distinguished optically from normal stones and can therefore be used and combined with them in any manner in an application-oriented manner.
