La fenêtre à ouverture à la française représentée à la figure 1 comporte un dormant (1) réalisé à partir d'un profilé métallique cintré, par exemple en acier ou en alliage d'aluminium, et un ouvrant (2) réalisé à partir d'un second profilé métallique cintré selon la même courbe.
L'articulation de l'ouvrant (2) sur le dormant (1) est réalisée par un jeu d'au moins 2 charniéres (3) pivotant autour d'un axe de pivotement (4) vertical, situé à l'extérieur de l'ouvrant (2), c'est à dire que sa projection sur la face latérale du dormant (1) ne coupe pas l'ouvrant (2).
Les charnières (3) se trouvent en applique sur la face latérale du dormant (1) du côté de l'ouverture. La partie fixe (5) de la charnière (3) est fixée au dormant (1) de préférence par soudure, et la partie mobile (6) en forme de patte est fixée sur l'ouvrant (2), de préférence également par soudure. L'écartement entre les charnières (3) sur l'axe de pivotement (4) est proportionné à la courbure du profilé et donc à la taille et au poids du châssis, de telle sorte que cet axe (4) ne coupe pas l'ouvrant. L'adaptation de la charnière (3) à toutes les dimensions de châssis et aux différents types d'ouverture se fait uniquement en jouant sur la longueur de la patte de la partie (6) des charnières (3), ce qui permet de partir dans tous les cas de la même pièce et, en la standardisant, d'en abaisser le coût.
Avec le même jeu de charnières (3), on peut réaliser une fenêtre projetante à l'italienne avec un axe de pivotement (4) horizontal et situé au-dessus de l'ouvrant (2), ou une fenêtre à soufflet avec un axe de pivotement (4) également horizontal, mais situé en bas de l'ouvrant (2).
Pour régler et limiter l'ouverture des châssis à soufflet, on utilise habituellement un compas métallique, fixé à la fois sur l'ouvrant et le dormant et qui, à la fermeture, vient se loger dans la feuillure. Cette solution n'est pas applicable à une partie courbe. Pour résoudre cette difficulté, la fenêtre à soufflet selon l'invention comporte avantageusement le système limiteur d'ouverture représenté à la figure 2. Ce système comprend une bielette (7) fixée à une extrémité au dormant (1) autour d'un axe fixe (8). L'autre extrémité est fixée autour d'un axe (9) à un coulisseau (10) mobile qui est guidé entre les nervures (11) dans la feuillure de l'ouvrant (2). Cette bielette (7) est réalisée en matière souple, par exemple en matière plastique, de sorte qu'elle peut se déformer et venir, à la fermeture, épouser la courbe de la feuillure, tout en permettant à la fois de régler l'ouverture dans n'importe quelle position et de la limiter à un angle maximum. Les ouvrants de forme recourbée sont nettement plus rigides que les ouvrants quadrangulaires de surface équivalente. Cependant, il peut être intéressant de prévoir dans l'articulation un réglage de repositionnement au cas où il y aurait un certain jeu. Dans ce but, on peut munir les articulations des portes et fenêtres selon l'invention du système de réglage représenté à la figure 3.

With the same set of hinges (3), an Italian-style projecting window can be produced with a horizontal pivot axis (4) located above the opening (2), or a gated window with an axis pivoting (4) also horizontal, but located at the bottom of the opening (2).
To adjust and limit the opening of the bellows frames, a metal compass is usually used, fixed on both the sash and the frame and which, when closed, is housed in the rebate. This solution is not applicable to a curved part. To resolve this difficulty, the bellows window according to the invention advantageously comprises the opening limiting system shown in FIG. 2. This system comprises a connecting rod (7) fixed at one end to the frame (1) around a fixed axis (8). The other end is fixed around an axis (9) to a movable slide (10) which is guided between the ribs (11) in the rebate of the opening (2). This rod (7) is made of flexible material, for example plastic, so that it can deform and come, when closing, to follow the curve of the rebate, while allowing both to adjust the opening in any position and limit it to a maximum angle. The curved openings are much more rigid than the quadrangular openings of equivalent surface. However, it may be advantageous to provide in the articulation a repositioning adjustment in the event that there is a certain clearance. For this purpose, the articulations of the doors and windows according to the invention can be provided with the adjustment system shown in the figure 3.
