Abstract

The invention relates to a safety hinge for pivoting panels such as a door, window, etc., preventing the pinching of a finger introduced in the rabbet during closure of the panel. This device allows parting of the panel at the level of the rabbet when resistance to closure occurs, leaving space for a finger between the pivoting panel and its frame. It consists of a double pivot hinge; a conventional pivot 4 being intended for normal use of the closure panel, the other pivot 3, housed in the thickness of the panel and held in place by the action of the torsion bar, only capable of articulating by torsion of this bar acting as a pivot when resistance occurs to the closure of the panel, created by the introduction of an object in the rabbet, leading thus to the parting of the panel at this level.
