Definitions
- the invention relates to a dispensing head for beverage containers or kegs, with a dispensing head tappet which can be actuated by a hand lever, a beverage connection, a connection for a gaseous pressure medium and a container connection, a relaxation valve being connected to the interior of the dispensing head.
- Such dispensing heads are known to be used to remove beverages from beverage containers or beverage kegs, such as beer kegs.
- the tap head with the connections mentioned is coupled to the flange of a fitting with the hand lever raised.
- the fitting represents the container connection located in a container opening, which is equipped with a special known valve.
- a tappet collar located on this tappet is pressed against a housing seal and at the same time the valve of the fitting is opened, so that a gas-tight connection is ensured. Compressed gas flows through the interior around the tap head tappet into the container and conveys the drink through a central pipe to the drink connection and from there via a line to the actual dispensing device.
- the hand lever of the dispensing head is pivoted upwards, so that the pressure on the housing seal is released and the fitting in the housing barrel is closed again.
- a considerable problem is that, especially at higher working pressures in the interior of the dispenser head, in particular in the lower cavity around the dispenser head tappet, a gas pressure is maintained which can reach up to about 6 bar. As a result, the housing seal of the dispensing head is pressed against the flange of the fitting.
- the disadvantage is that the The dispensing head can only be released from the flange by overcoming the adhesion generated by the gas pressure, which not only means a considerable expenditure of force, but also a certain danger for the operator.
- the problem outlined above can at least partially be remedied in the case of a dispensing head initially specified, which is known from document EP-A-0 432 650.
- the pressure relief valve is, however, arranged approximately radially outwards on the tap head housing, so that the valve tappet located in the valve housing runs essentially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the tap head tappet in its direction of movement.
- the pressure relief valve is used to vent the storage container and must be operated by hand, for example by means of a hand lever. If the storage container is to be vented, the keg fitting must be open. However, it is also conceivable to vent only the interior of the dispensing head housing when the pressure relief valve is closed by hand.
- the invention is based on the object to provide a dispensing head while maintaining the advantages of the generic presupposed arrangement of a pressure relief valve, in which pressure relief takes place automatically after each closure process in the interior of the dispensing head without requiring any additional manual operations.
- the object is achieved according to the invention in that the dispensing head tappet is provided with a flange and in that the relief valve is designed and arranged in such a way that the expansion valve when the hand lever is raised above the dispensing head tappet which moves upward therefrom Flange is inevitably opened.
- Fig. 1 shows a side view of a dispensing head 1 with a connection 2 for a gaseous pressure medium, for which carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is usually used. Furthermore, the dispensing head has a beverage connection 3 and a container connection 8 for connection to the fitting seated in the container opening and not shown. The dispensing head also has a hand lever 4 for actuating the dispensing head tappet 6. The hand lever is mounted in the pivot bearing 5 and has articulations 7 known per se on both sides of the dispensing head tappet.
- FIG. 1 also shows the view of a relief valve 9 in the correct lateral position, namely at an angle of 90 ° to the pressure medium connection 2.
- the expansion valve 9 has a valve housing 26 which is fastened to the side of the tap head housing wall 10.
- a valve tappet 17 together with a flange 19 seated thereon and with a lower extension 21 can be displaced vertically.
- a compression spring 20 is inserted, which normally ensures that the flange 19 presses on a sealing ring 18 arranged below the flange, which in turn then opens an opening in the tap head housing wall 10, in the area of the neck 21, seals.
- the adjustability of the screw 22 which can be screwed into the internal thread 23 of the valve housing 26 is such that the spring pressure can be adjusted or regulated according to the circumstances.
- Two sealing rings 11 and 12 are provided between the tap head tappet 6 and the tap head housing wall 10. Furthermore, a further sealing ring 13 is used in the lower part of the tap head. A flange 14 provided with gas passage openings 15 is attached, preferably screwed, to the lower part of the tap head tappet. In the area of the tap head housing wall 10, the tap head plunger 6 has cutouts 25 in the area between the two sealing rings 11 and 12, which allow the gas to pass downward when the tap head plunger is in the lowest position.
- the reference numeral 16 denotes the interior of the dispensing head to which the expansion valve 9 is connected. The effectiveness of the expansion valve is further increased by the fact that the lower extension 21 then has approximately a triangular or star-shaped cross section.
- the tap head plunger 6 When the hand lever 4 pivots upwards, the tap head plunger 6 is brought into the uppermost position according to FIG. 2.
- the expansion valve 9 is actuated automatically, in that the flange 14 presses against the lower end of the extension 21, so that the expansion valve is opened and the gas pressure from the interior of the dispenser 16 through the gaps in the extension 21 and through the resulting Gas outlet gap 24 on the underside of the sealing ring 18 can escape to the outside.
- FIG 3 shows a middle height position of the tap head plunger 6.
- the flange 14 presses against the sealing ring 13.
- the expansion valve 9 is constantly closed by pressure of the compression spring 20. That automatically Acting expansion valve 9 also fulfills a safety function, namely when an impermissibly high excess pressure arises in the beverage container or when the compressed gas is supplied.
- the compression spring 20 can be adjusted by means of the screw 22, which is however fixed in practice, in such a way that the relief valve opens automatically at such an impermissibly high pressure.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a dispensing head for beverage containers or kegs, with a dispensing head tappet which can be actuated by a hand lever, a beverage connection, a connection for a gaseous pressure medium and a container connection, a relaxation valve being connected to the interior of the dispensing head.
Such dispensing heads are known to be used to remove beverages from beverage containers or beverage kegs, such as beer kegs. For this purpose, the tap head with the connections mentioned is coupled to the flange of a fitting with the hand lever raised. The fitting represents the container connection located in a container opening, which is equipped with a special known valve. By depressing the hand lever of the tap head and thus by actuating the tap head tappet, a tappet collar located on this tappet is pressed against a housing seal and at the same time the valve of the fitting is opened, so that a gas-tight connection is ensured. Compressed gas flows through the interior around the tap head tappet into the container and conveys the drink through a central pipe to the drink connection and from there via a line to the actual dispensing device.
After emptying the container, the hand lever of the dispensing head is pivoted upwards, so that the pressure on the housing seal is released and the fitting in the housing barrel is closed again.
A considerable problem is that, especially at higher working pressures in the interior of the dispenser head, in particular in the lower cavity around the dispenser head tappet, a gas pressure is maintained which can reach up to about 6 bar. As a result, the housing seal of the dispensing head is pressed against the flange of the fitting. The disadvantage is that the The dispensing head can only be released from the flange by overcoming the adhesion generated by the gas pressure, which not only means a considerable expenditure of force, but also a certain danger for the operator.
The problem outlined above can at least partially be remedied in the case of a dispensing head initially specified, which is known from document EP-A-0 432 650. The pressure relief valve is, however, arranged approximately radially outwards on the tap head housing, so that the valve tappet located in the valve housing runs essentially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the tap head tappet in its direction of movement. The pressure relief valve is used to vent the storage container and must be operated by hand, for example by means of a hand lever. If the storage container is to be vented, the keg fitting must be open. However, it is also conceivable to vent only the interior of the dispensing head housing when the pressure relief valve is closed by hand.
The invention is based on the object to provide a dispensing head while maintaining the advantages of the generic presupposed arrangement of a pressure relief valve, in which pressure relief takes place automatically after each closure process in the interior of the dispensing head without requiring any additional manual operations.
Starting from the dispensing head specified at the beginning, the object is achieved according to the invention in that the dispensing head tappet is provided with a flange and in that the relief valve is designed and arranged in such a way that the expansion valve when the hand lever is raised above the dispensing head tappet which moves upward therefrom Flange is inevitably opened.
Advantageous embodiments of the dispensing head result from the subclaims.
- Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht auf einen Zapfkopf,
- 1 is a side view of a tap head,
- 2 shows a vertical section through the dispensing head according to FIG. 1, the expansion valve being shown pivoted through 90 ° about the central axis in the image plane, with the tap head plunger in the uppermost position and
- Fig. 3 is a vertical section according to FIG. 2, wherein the tap head plunger is in a middle height position.
Fig. 1 zeigt ferner die Ansicht auf ein Entspannungsventil 9 in der richtigen seitlichen Stellung, nämlich unter einem Winkel von 90° zu dem Druckmittelanschluß 2.Fig. 1 shows a side view of a dispensing
As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, the
Two
Die Wirkungsweise ist im wesentlichen folgende. The principle of operation is as follows.
When the hand lever 4 pivots upwards, the
Fig. 3 zeigt eine mittlere Höhenstellung des Zapfkopfstößels 6.
