Abstract

The support consists of two lateral vertical panels (2,3) which bear against opposite walls of the trench, in cooperation with a supporting portal structure (4). The portal has a pair of lateral upright members (5,6) linked by a horizontal transverse bar (7), each lateral member being detachably secured to one of the vertical panels. Each panel has a pivotable spacer bar (14,15) which is movable to cooperate with the spacer of the corresponding opposite panel to define a transverse support between the panels after removal of the portal structure.
