Description

The invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular a cooler for internal combustion engines of commercial vehicles, with a fan hood arranged in front of the finned tube block, which is applied to the header boxes of the finned tube block by being applied perpendicular to the front side and then by means of a relative movement parallel to the front side with the aid of a positive engagement of interlocking ones Plug-in tabs are held with locking devices.

From DE 39 07 926 A1 a heat exchanger of this type is known, in which the system between the fan cover and the collecting boxes designed there as water boxes is brought about by sliding tabs which engage in one another when the fan cover is initially aligned in height with corresponding stop guides on the water boxes applied and then laterally shifted to a certain extent until the sliding tabs snap into their guides. Heat exchangers of this type only require a parallel displacement to the front to mount the fan cover on the radiator, but no other fastening means. Nevertheless, the assembly process is not always easy due to the necessary alignment in height, especially when assembling or later disassembling the vehicle should be made and the spatial conditions in the engine compartment are cramped.

It is also known (DE-OS 35 36 457) to make the attachment of a fan hood to collecting tanks by resilient tabs projecting from the plane of the edge of the fan hood to the finned tube block with latching hooks which engage behind corresponding edges of webs on the collecting tank. The spring tabs are assigned stop surfaces on the edge of the fan cover, which serve to secure the position. This type of fastening ensures a relatively simple assembly. However, since the positive locking is essentially achieved only by latching hooks, the positive locking can be released when the heat exchangers are used in the commercial vehicle sector due to the heavy loads that then occur.

The invention has for its object to develop a heat exchanger of the type mentioned so that an even easier assembly between the fan cover and heat exchanger unit is possible. To solve this problem, at least one pivot pin / hinge connection between the fan cover and header boxes is provided and the plug-in tabs and locking devices are arranged so that the positive locking can be done by pivoting the fan cover around the pivot pin.

This configuration has the great advantage that only the pivot pin / hinge connection between the fan cover and header boxes needs to be made, which, however, since only one pin is to be inserted into a corresponding opening, does not require any difficult alignment processes. Subsequently, the fan cover can be pivoted around the pivot pin in a simple manner, during which the installation process no longer requires any significant attention. After the swiveling process, the fan cover snaps into the collecting boxes with a positive fit.

In a further development of the invention, the pivot pin can be provided on the lower collecting box and at least one plug-in tab on the upper collecting box, so that good fastening can already be achieved. However, it is advantageous if the plug pin is arranged in the region of a side part on the lower collecting box, a plug tab is assigned approximately to the middle of the upper collecting box and another plug tab is arranged on the side of the lower collecting box facing away from the pivot pin. These measures result in a kind of three-point fastening, which ensures a secure system.

In a further development of the invention, the plug-in tab on the upper collecting box can be designed as a U-shaped receiving pocket into which a tab connected to the fan cover engages. A resilient locking hook can secure this tab in the end position, which is attached to the collecting box. The lower plug-in tab, which is arranged on the lower collecting box, can be designed as a plug-in slot into which a tab protruding from the fan cover can be inserted in a suitable manner. This tab can be arranged on the fan cover so that its longitudinal axis is approximately tangential to an arc, the center of which is the pivot pin. In this way, the tab can be inserted in a particularly simple manner into the slots assigned to it with the pivoting movement. Finally, it is advantageous if the tab arranged on the fan hood and engaging in the upper header box is assigned a contact web which is pressed against a contact surface of the header box in the end position of the fan hood.

4) verbunden sind.1 shows a heat exchanger designated overall by (1), which in a known manner consists of a finned tube block (2) with an upper header tank (3) designed as a water tank and a lower header tank (4) also designed as a water tank exists, which are each provided with inflow and outflow connections (5) for the heat exchange medium. The finned tube block (2) is bordered by side parts (6) which are connected to the upper and lower header boxes (3 and 4).

On the front of the heat exchanger facing the viewer, a fan hood (7) is placed, which serves to hold a blower (8), the blades (9) of which are attached in a known manner to a hub (10) provided with an electric motor, which in turn in A mounting ring (11) of the fan cover (7) is mounted, which in turn is connected to a mounting ring (13) of the fan cover (7) via radially extending mounting webs (12). The entire fan hood (7) is held with its fastening ring on the front of the heat exchanger (1) in that a sleeve (14) acting as a hinge is attached to a web (15) which projects obliquely downwards from the fastening ring (13). Is held against the front side in a manner to be explained in more detail below by means of a pivot pin (16) which can be seen in FIGS. 2 to 4, and this fastening position is provided by two tabs (19 or . 20) in the Mounting position is secured, which are inserted into corresponding receptacles (21 and 22) which protrude from the upper collecting box (3) or from the lower collecting box (4) on the front.

The upper tab (19) is assigned a stop bar (23) which, in the assembly position shown, presses firmly against a corresponding stop edge (24) of the upper collecting tank (3). The fastening ring (13) is also also provided with a stop piece (25) with which it rests against a side part (6) from the outside.

The receiving part assigned to the upper tab (19) is designed as a U-shaped receiving pocket (21) which is designed in such a way that the tab (19) lies firmly against the inside of the outer bracket part and thus a pressing of the fastening ring (13) and the contact web (23) on the associated header box or on the front side, which in the exemplary embodiment is provided in the area between header boxes and side parts on the one hand and the fastening ring (13) on the other hand with corresponding corner cladding, so that the air conveyed by the blower (8) intensifies the finned tube block can flow through.

The receiving pocket (21) is preceded by a resilient latching hook (27) which, as will be explained later, is pushed to the side by the tab (19) during the assembly process, but which is then when the tab (19) has reached its end position , abuts the tab (19) with its front end (27a) and prevents the tab from unintentionally detaching from the receiving pocket (21).

From Fig. 4 it can also be clearly seen that the receptacle (22) associated with the lower tab (20) is a bracket projecting from the front of the lower collecting box (4), which has a slot (28) for inserting the tab (20) forms.

Finally, the pivot pin (16), which is fastened to the lower collecting box (4) and also protrudes towards the front, has two diametrically opposite pins (29) at a certain distance from its base, the significance of which will be discussed in the description of the assembly process . The sleeve (14) to be pushed onto the pivot pin (16) is finally provided with two slots, also starting from its inner diameter, which are also diametrically opposed and whose dimensions are matched to those of the pins (29), which, as will be explained, via the pins ( 29) can be pushed.

In the mounting state of the fan cover (7) on the finned tube block (2) and on the header boxes (3 and 4) shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, there is a three-point fastening in the area of the sleeve (16), the tab (19) and the Tab (20) in front. The tabs (19 and 20) engage in their receptacles (21 and 22). The sleeve (14) is held by the pins (29) of the pivot pin (16) in the position shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 and is also pressed firmly against the front of the heat exchanger.

Der Montagevorgang erfolgt wie folgt:The assembly process is as follows:

The fan cover (7) is first pivoted in an angle (α) of approximately 45 ° in a clockwise direction relative to the position shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, plugged onto the pivot pin (16) of the lower header box (4), specifically until the mounting ring (13) and the landing stage (23) touch the front of the collection boxes (3 and 4). In this position, the slots (30) can therefore be pushed over the pins (29) of the pivot pin (16) so that these pins (29) lie in front of an edge (31) in the sleeve (14). In this position, in which the contact web (23) lies against the contact surface (24), the fastening process can now be initiated by pivoting the fan cover (7) counterclockwise by the angle (α); on the one hand, the Pin (29) of the pivot pin (16) over the surface (31) in the hinge sleeve (14). On the other hand, the tab (19) comes into the area of its U-shaped receiving pocket (21) and thereby presses the latching hook (27) lying in front of the open end of the receiving pocket (21) in a clockwise direction, where its end, for example, in a recess (32) can be included. The tab (20) simultaneously reaches the area of the slot (28). If the pivoting movement is now carried out in a counterclockwise direction to the end, the plug-in tab (19) reaches the area within the U-shaped recess (33) and strikes there. In this position, the end (27a) of the resilient locking hook (27) is free and lies against the outwardly facing surface of the tab (19), so that a backward movement is prevented. The stop part (25) lies against the side part (6) and the tab (20) has reached its end position within the slot (28). The fan cover (7) is positively mounted. It can be dismantled again when the locking hook (27) is pressed inwards.

The entire assembly and disassembly process can be carried out without the use of tools. The pivoting process is extremely simple and there is no need for separate alignment of the top and bottom edges. Only the sleeve (14) must be guided over the pivot pin (16) in the appropriate position. Once this has been done, it is sufficient if the fan hood is pressed counterclockwise, which then pivots into its mounting position.

In the exemplary embodiment, so-called water tanks are shown as collecting tanks because a liquid cooling medium flows through the finned tube block. However, it would be possible in the same way to design the header boxes (3, 4) shown in the exemplary embodiment for the operation of the heat exchanger as air / air coolers as air boxes, so that e.g. a charge air cooler can be formed, which has the same structural features as the embodiment shown.
