Definitions
- the invention relates to a quick release coupling for connecting a feed or discharge line to the wall of the header tank of a heat exchanger, comprising a box-side coupling part and a line-side coupling part, with a radially inner peripheral wall, which has an annular groove with a sealing ring and with a radial outer wall, in which a holding bracket is arranged in a slot, and the box-side coupling part has a first radial circumferential wall, which abuts the sealing ring, and it has latching points into which the holding bracket can snap, the annular groove with the sealing ring and the latching points for the holding bracket have a radial distance from each other.
- both walls can be realized by appropriate design of the injection molding tool, that is, molded onto the wall of the collection box.
- the first peripheral wall of the box-side coupling part can remain smooth-walled, because this has only a sealing function, and, according to a further feature, a sealing function that between the outside of the first peripheral wall and the inside of the inner peripheral wall of the line-side coupling part is satisfied. Because the first peripheral wall is smooth-walled, it can easily be realized in metal by reshaping the wall of the collecting tank and in plastic can also be easily and easily molded on by appropriate design of the injection molding tool.
- the radial outer wall of the line-side coupling part and the second wall of the box-side coupling part in several parts, ie not closed, the parts of the outer wall to each other and the parts of the wall to each other diametrically and the parts of the outer wall to the parts of Wall are also arranged diametrically and wherein they are arcuate. This measure ensures that the space required for the quick coupling is kept small.
- FIGS. 1, 13 and 15 there is a radial distance between the sealing ring 8 and the retaining bracket 10 .
- the sealing ring 8 lies significantly further inwards, that is, further towards the axis 50 than the retaining bracket 10 .
- This design creates a very short coupling, at least significantly shorter than in the prior art, where there is a clear axial distance between the sealing ring 8 and the retaining bracket 10 , which leads to a greater overall length in the axial direction. Due to the short coupling, the lever arm of the forces acting on the peripheral wall 20 also becomes smaller.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a quick release coupling for connecting a feed or discharge line to the wall of the header tank of a heat exchanger, comprising a box-side coupling part and a line-side coupling part, with a radially inner peripheral wall, which has an annular groove with a sealing ring and with a radial outer wall, in which a holding bracket is arranged in a slot, and the box-side coupling part has a first radial circumferential wall, which abuts the sealing ring, and it has latching points into which the holding bracket can snap, the annular groove with the sealing ring and the latching points for the holding bracket have a radial distance from each other.
Such a quick release coupling was published a few months ago in DE 100 17 679 C1. In this publication there is no axial distance between the groove in which the retaining clip engages and the annular groove in which the sealing ring is located, ie they are located on the same radial plane. Such a design can be described as advantageous because it allows a compact, space-saving design of the quick-release coupling, which therefore meets the requirements of the vehicle manufacturer when used in motor vehicles. A compact design is also achieved if there is a small axial distance between the groove and the annular groove, which is in the millimeter range.
In DE 199 57 946 A1 there is a very clear axial distance between the mentioned ring groove and the groove, but no radial distance is provided, so that the design shown there is more extensive in the axial direction. This is not particularly advantageous if the connection piece is to be designed as an angle connection piece. The connecting piece shown there has been specially designed for a heat exchanger with a metal header. The solution shown there is therefore not suitable for heat exchangers with plastic collecting boxes.
The solution described first, in turn, can only be transferred to heat exchangers with collecting boxes made of metal with substantial, ie complex, changes, because it is specifically intended for solutions in plastic.
leitungsseitige Kupplungsteil, also der Anschlussstutzen, unverändert bleiben, egal
In beiden Fällen
The object of the invention is to provide a quick-release coupling which is to have such features that it is suitable for heat exchangers with metal collecting tanks and for plastic collecting tanks without having to make any significant changes to the coupling parts.
This object is achieved with the characterizing features of
Forming the edge of the opening in the wall of the collecting box can be easily realized. The second wall is realized as an additional part which is arranged around the opening with the closed peripheral wall, the additional part is preferably soldered to the wall of the same when the heat exchanger is soldered. (Claim 4)
The closed peripheral wall of the box-side coupling part cooperates on its radial outside with the sealing ring in the annular groove on the radially inner peripheral wall of the line-side coupling part, thereby guaranteeing the tightness of the quick-release coupling. This is also particularly effective because when the collection box is made of metal, which is usually solder-coated aluminum, there is no solder coating on the outside of the collection box. The outside of the collecting box is also the radial outside of the peripheral wall, which thus allows a secure seal.
When the collection box is made of plastic, both walls can be realized by appropriate design of the injection molding tool, that is, molded onto the wall of the collection box. (Claim 3)
Both walls of the box-side coupling part have a suitable phase or chamfer at their ends facing the line-side coupling part in the case of plastic collecting boxes, in order to guarantee that the line-side coupling part, both with the seal and with the retaining bracket, can be easily and quickly pushed onto the box-side coupling part can and is immediately in the correct functional position. In the case of collecting boxes made of metal, this can be achieved by conical design of the walls of the box-side coupling part at their ends facing the line-side coupling part.
Because, according to a feature of the invention, the locking points for the retaining bracket are arranged in the second wall of the box-side coupling part, the first peripheral wall of the box-side coupling part can remain smooth-walled, because this has only a sealing function, and, according to a further feature, a sealing function that between the outside of the first peripheral wall and the inside of the inner peripheral wall of the line-side coupling part is satisfied. Because the first peripheral wall is smooth-walled, it can easily be realized in metal by reshaping the wall of the collecting tank and in plastic can also be easily and easily molded on by appropriate design of the injection molding tool.
Beschreibung verwiesen.According to
With regard to further features, reference is made to the claims and to the description below.
The figures show the following:
In both of the exemplary embodiments mentioned, the
kastenseitigen Kupplungsteil 3.As can be seen very clearly from FIGS. 1, 13 and 15, there is a radial distance between the sealing
4, 5 and 6 differ from FIGS. 7, 8 and 9 in that in the first case straight connecting pieces and in the second case curved connecting pieces to the feed or
The
The
The line-side coupling part 4 is identical for both versions. It is molded from plastic. Otherwise, it has already been described above with regard to the design of the radial outer wall 9a and 9b . As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and 13 and 14 in particular, the line-side coupling part 4 also has an inner, closed radial
