Definitions
- the invention relates to an electrical switch with light indicator, which has a spring-loaded switching element which can be actuated by a pushbutton, the switching contacts of which act on connecting contacts arranged in the base of the switch housing, the connecting contacts being connected to at least one lighting element facing the pushbutton and arranged above the switching element.
- switches have been known for a long time. It is important with these switches that they form a compact assembly which contains contacts and light source integrated, can be assigned in a confined space and, above all, are easy to assemble and ensure reliable operation over a long period of time with little effort.
- a key with a light indicator for keyboards in office and teleprinters is known in which a side opening for a light-emitting diode is provided on the front of the key button in the viewing area of an operator, the light-emitting diode above and next to one Switching element is arranged.
- a printed circuit board containing the plug-in device and the power supply for the light-emitting diode, which is pushed into the button.
- the power supply takes place via flexible power supply cables from a keyboard circuit board, for the implementation of which recesses are provided in the key base, the power supply cables being guided between the recesses and the circuit board in the form of a pivoted loop.
- the two power supply cables require a relatively large installation space.
- US-A-34 67 802 shows a push button switch with an electrical connecting member between the movable push button provided with one or more indicator lamps and the housing with the associated switching elements.
- the connecting link here has the shape of a flat, flexible, non-conductive plastic strip with embedded electrically conductive strips, which hangs in a controlled arc, which does not change its position, between the movable parts to be connected.
- a flexible conductor foil is used in a movable actuator provided with lighting elements. The assembly effort is considerable.
- US-A-41 79 594 shows an illuminated pushbutton arrangement with a plurality of light-emitting diodes.
- the pushbutton arrangement comprises two printed circuit boards which are spaced apart from one another and which are electrically coupled to one another by electrical conductors of high mechanical strength, which simultaneously perform the function of mechanically supporting the two circuit boards with respect to one another. Since the LEDs are thus fixed, an additional space is required for the required actuation area of the push button.
- the invention has for its object to provide an electrical switch of the type mentioned, which contains the contacts and light source in a compact assembly under the push button, which is modular and easy to install and avoids the susceptibility to contact, even with frequent switch operations.
- the switch is preferably equipped with functional lighting and search lighting.
- the search lighting consists of an incandescent lamp and the functional lighting consists of an LED. Both lamps are located with their pins in the solder eyes of the plated-through circuit board and form a preassembled assembly.
- the circuit board also has plug contacts into which the externally accessible connection contacts of the plug protrude and ensure the secure electrical connection. As an alternative to this, it is also possible, without the plug contacts, to make contact with the holes in the printed circuit board and to plug the connection contacts into the latter.
- a switching element is guided over the contact holder, which is displaceably arranged in two end positions in the housing and has resilient contacts on opposite sides which, depending on the shifting position of the switching element, tap the connection contacts electrically.
- the contact On one side of the switching element, the contact consists of a contact roller lying transversely to the direction of displacement and on the other side of a set of several contact springs.
- a reflector is guided over each light source via the preassembled printed circuit board with light-emitting diode and light bulb, which advantageously consists of a common molded part made of light-reflecting plastic.
- the upper end of the electrical switch is a pushbutton, which covers the housing with its outer edge and which is positively connected to the switching element by means of several, evenly distributed locking clips and has translucent inserts on the cover side in the area of the incandescent lamp and LED underneath, so that the light can penetrate to the outside.
- a series resistor which is an SMD resistor, is connected upstream of the light-emitting diode.
- the circuit board has on its side with the conductor tracks a resistance network that can be easily adapted to the respective application with a bridge.
- This resistance network is preferably implemented with SMD resistors which do not require any additional space.
- the switch can be used for recognizable different functions. For example, the luminous color of the LED indicates a certain function.
- the assembled printed circuit board is connected to the reflector by means of latching clips, so that the printed circuit board and reflector form a preassembled assembly.
- the electrical switch shown in Fig. 1 and 2 with light indicator consists of the push button 1 with the translucent inserts 2 and 3, a housing 4 with the clamping brackets 5 arranged on the outside in a chassis for mounting the switch and a base 6, which has several latches 7 is attached to the housing 4.
- a contact switch 8 with embedded connecting contacts 9, the upper ends of which protrude into the plug contacts 10 of a printed circuit board 11.
- a switching element 12 which can be displaced into two end positions and has spring contacts 13 opposite one another and a contact roller 14.
- the contact roller 14 and the spring contacts 13 press on the contact holder 8 and, depending on the shift position of the switching element 12, establish the electrical connection for the switching function and also for the associated light source.
- the switching element 12 is in permanent connection with the pushbutton 1 and is brought into the various desired positions against the action of the compression springs 15 and known switching means.
- the printed circuit board 11 has an incandescent lamp 18 for the search lighting and a light-emitting diode 17 for the functional lighting.
- the reflector 16 is placed on the printed circuit board 11 before the pushbutton 1 is installed and secured to the housing 4 by means of latching means.
- the reflector 16 for the LED 17 and for the incandescent lamp 18 preferably consists of a common molded part made of a light-reflecting plastic.
- the reflector 16 When the reflector 16 is fastened in the housing 4 as illustrated in FIG. 3, the reflector 16 has a wedge-shaped locking guide 20 which interacts with the resilient locking clips 21 formed on the housing 4. At the same time, locking lugs 22 can be seen, which are resiliently fastened to the switching element 12 and are preferably integrally formed for a positive connection with the pushbutton 1.
- the switching element 12 has two lateral pins 24 which are guided in elongated holes 23 by tabs 25 attached to the housing 4.
- FIGS. 5 and 6 Details of the printed circuit board are shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
- the lamp connections 26 of the incandescent lamp 18 and the LED 17 are connected to the printed circuit board 11, preferably by soldering in solder eyes, and thus form a preassembled assembly.
- the plug contacts 10 take up the connecting contacts 9 and secure them electrical continuity.
- the line diagram shown in FIG. 7 shows the enlarged circuit board from the underside with the pads 26 for connecting the LED and the pads 27 for connecting the incandescent lamp 18.
- the LED is preceded by a resistor 28, which is preferably an SMD resistor.
- the series resistor 28 is a resistor network with a plurality of connection points 29 for an electrical bridge 30.
- FIGS. 9 to 11 shows a mounting of the reflector 16 on the printed circuit board 11 as a preassembled assembly.
- the reflector 16 has additional latching clips 31 which snap into a recess 32 in the printed circuit board 11.
